I wouldn't hold my breath. The one time Apple did stream the conference they announced it prior to the conference itself so people could prep. At the end of the day it may have just been a marketing gimmick to increase Safari usage or something. The stream was pretty solid, though.

Wish they would just stream these things live...not entirely sure what the benefit is in not doing it.

...then again, I don't know what the benefit is in doing it for them, either...

I just know I want it, and it more than likely won't happen.

I thought it was to test out the streaming capabilities with the (then) newly launched QuickTime X

Perhaps. It was the first massive demo of live HTML5 video that I think anyone had really done so it seemed to be Apple proving a point as much as it was a trialing of their own software.

Siri is one of those things that seems obvious until you start to really envision it. Totally 50/50 in my mind. Due to the lack of hard evidence, I'd say 60/40 against.

HAPPY KEYNOTE EVE EVERYBODY!

I think Siri is problematic because, unlike the iPhone, cellular connectivity isn't ubiquitous across the iPad line. So if you move out of wifi range, Siri breaks and that seems pretty jarring in an unAppleesque sort of way.

For anything requiring a connection, a simple "I'm sorry I cannot process that without an Internet connection" would suffice me thinks

I told my girlfriend about potentially using the holy trinity. She called me fucking crazy.

Considering I am upgrading from my iPhone 4 this year.

MBA 13" - 1250
iPhone 5 - 200
iPad 3 - 500

total: ~2000

Yeah holy fuck, I don't know about that...

Refurb MBA 13" 128GB is 1099. It's pretty unlikely you'll get a refurb iPad or iPhone, but saving 150 will cover your smart cover and phone case at least.

So, all Apple TVs are out of stock in Apple Stores:

I'm actually way more excited for this than the iPad update. The form factor is fine and they could easily do a firmware update if it was simply adding channels for Hulu, etc. I think this is going to be the true buzz generator from this. What it will be exactly, I have no idea.

If they can keep their current form factor and price point but get 1080p output (and add hardware acceleration APIs for non-H264/MP4 content) it'll be basically the best possible media center unit for XBMC hacking.

I'd be pretty disappointed if it got larger or more expensive.

How much does it cost to replace the battery on the iPad 2?

Things I want for apple tv update native support for livestreams. Twitch TV and the people streaming Dota 2 games already support HTML 5 live streaming. Please put in an app for it please would love to watch that stuff on tv

With everything so thoroughly spoiled you guys seem super excited still. I'll be watching too, hopefully the rumors are just low-balling it. I wanna see something really surprising

They need to have Siri default to Voice Control-like features, enhanced a bit when offline. They were able to do voice control for music just fine, the few other offline things should be simple to do.

Yeah, there are ways around it -- and I'm guessing Apple will probably eventually do something like that -- but I just feel like throwing up a dialog box isn't the most elegant of solutions. It just sort of shatters the illusion.

Facetime. Granted, Facetime is a failure, and deserves to be for obvious reasons. Perhaps LTE will change that too…

What I'm wondering is just how much space Siri results take up. Would it be practical for Apple to look at the most common queries over the past 6 months and just cache anything that isn't dynamic (stocks, weather, etc) locally?

You win. Facetime requiring 3G is one of those "god, why would you damage the integrity of your product like that?" things that just baffles me.

I don't think the data storing is the problem. It's the voice parsing that happens off device that is the biggest hurdle.

I'm gonna put my 2nd gen Apple TV up on Kijiji today and offer to jailbreak it... wonder if anyone will buy it. If no one does, oh well, no big deal.

But Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go and all those fancy channels/apps will do NOTHING outside USA/Britain, such a shame. I think I'm skipping Apple TV3, or if it's the same price I could give my parents my Apple TV2 and buy the TV3, but it's unnecessary. All I use it for is for AirPlay.

Damn, I think I'm gonna get one of these. Will be my first apple device. With the LTE what kind of plans do you think they will have? I want something unlimited:/

I haven't really been following, is there any reason to be hyped for the idea of an iPad 3? The 2 didn't seem like too exciting of an upgrade

The talk goes around Retina, LTE 4G and a Dual Core A5X processor. More tappered and slightly thicker design. 5/8-megapixel rear camera.

Do we expect a better GPU? More beautiful games?

They already did basic offline voice parsing with voice control in iOS 3/4. In more languages, too. Stocks and weather usually depend on a connection though, because the cache could be very old. I think setting reminders, alarms, timers, calendar events (and reading them) etc. can be done offline.

I thought the iPad 2's slimmer form factor was huge in itself, and certainly being faster was great.

But yes, iPad 3 (or HD)'s 2048x1536 screen alone will be f'ing amazing to read on. LTE and a better camera will make it even more awesome.

Please pardon my hit an run post in this thread, but I don't really want to read 2000 posts worth of stuff and I'm really not up on Apple rumors.

I don't own any Apple products, but I'm gonna. I'm out of contract as of last month, and I just got a bonus, so that means I can get an iPhone4S. What are the odds they will announce a 5 at this thing? If they do, any clue or best guesses of what the suspected release window might be?

5 won't be announced until Fall probably like last year. They announced the 4S later in the year probably to space out sales between Iphone and Ipad more and will probably continue that.

they won't be announcing any new phones anytime soon. Summer/Fall releases for iPhones. Spring releases for iPads. Refreshed Mac computers come in the spring and fall.

Thanks for the info. I'm deciding if it will be worth my time to wait of the 5 or just a 4S now.

I've also just finished my 2 year contract with my iPhone 3GS and I'm going to wait until after tomorrow to pick up a iPhone4s because of the slimmest chance of an announce. But I really doubt it.

Remember, Siri is still in beta according to Apple. Making all 4S owners free beta testers. And meaning there are some flaws in functionality.

I expect True Siri to launch in Q4. Hopefully then, it will regain a fraction of the features it had before Apple bought it.

You could have 7 months of hotness before it's usurped by the new hotness, or 7 months of waiting and then get the new hotness. How wealthy do you feel?
