Is there a key to select all units including your hero?
CTRL, you need to enable it in the options.

that kid is so bad he cant even trash talk rightMost players don't care about the growth of this game. The fact that it's as popular as it is today is testament to what a great game it is, that it would continue to draw so many players in despite how mind numblingly awful the community is.
And intentionally feeding because people are trash talking you (general you, not personal you) puts you on the same level as the trash talkers. Worse, probably, because words don't affect the game, while intentional deaths do.
Also, known trash talkers you should ignore for the sake of your sanity:
bzm (ilu bro)
Kapura
Neki
sounds like neki LOLCongrats on being part of the problem.
I played a inhouse game with Neki once in HoN ages ago, he had like 3 times the amount of deaths as me and just kept blaming me for everything.
People also get mad because they lose some perspective on life. They're playing a fucking video game, first of all. To be specific, they're playing a Beta video game that they already know pairs people of all skill levels together...where no money or award is involved. Where not everyone can be expected to speak...much less speak English. Where plenty of players are newcomers. Armed with that basic information, one would expect better attitudes...or at least a certain amount of nonchalant-ness. Nothing is at stake. Nobody is really dying. Until matchmaking is able to separate skill levels (maybe something like Starcraft II?), everyone needs to learn to chill the fuck out and lighten up. If people can't mange that, perhaps they need to go do some volunteering somewhere so that they can remember what real life is like and why this is not serious business.A team based game where team work actually matters, yes, yes it does.
DOTA is not a game where you derp around setting up sentries in obvious locations and dying over and over again. Everytime you die, the rest of your team feels your mistake. This is why people get so mad.

Half the time I start a game with "glhf" I get "fuck you" back. You can act like that's normal conduct if you want to, but I'd submit to you that you've been knee deep in a shitty community for too long if you do. Present company excluded, presumably.
That Emma Stone one actually looks very fitting, that's somewhat unsettling.
Garbage gonna be garbage forever.
It's all about climbing out of the dumpster.
I have faith that Valve will be able to promote better community etiquette..
If Valve can figure out how to make the DOTA2 community stop being dicks, we might as well install Lord Gaben as the King of the Earth and embrace Utopia.
.I prefer Valve's approach to having the lepers fling poo at one another instead of outright banning people.
My experience with the commendment system consists of Hyuna going "GIVE ME SOME COMMENDS HALY, I TOTALLY DESERVE IT".
No matter how many systems implemented to report "assholes" and the like, this community will never be like starcraft and it will never be like the IRL fgc for two reasons: You play in 5 man teams, and you play online. You're not in a 1v1 contest where when you lose it is your responsibility alone, and you're not sitting next to your opponents playing the game.
As said many times above, when one player on your team makes a mistake, any mistake, it affects the entire game. Combine this with the blame game, and you get tons of crap being thrown around. Even in the new players' pool this is going to happen, maybe even especially here, because once people get a rudimentary understanding of the game they like to think they know everything about it, are never wrong, and LOVE to pull out the shit talk when someone either doesn't know or disagrees.
There are nicer people too, of course, but realistically there's no good way to filter them without valve individually inspecting replays and recording audio AND risking making a lot of potential customers very angry and unwilling to pay. There isn't any way to ensure that commendations are real, or that reports are real without those two things. If you were to propose that only non-friends could commend, that punishes players who play with friends exclusively, as you probably won't be getting commendations for leadership and instruction from the other team.
There's no reason to get all riled up about it either, press mute and get over it. If it really bothers you that much you should know not to retaliate, only do so if you're looking for a fight. Get better so people don't call you bad as often, and don't be fooled, no matter how good you get people will always call you bad. One guy told Milk he couldn't last hit and that I was a trash player in the same game, for example.
If these people are all such "sub-human trash", be the more evolved creature and deal with it or stop bothering to play.
This works until you get to the point where some guy on your team just sits in fountain, buys donkeys, and feeds them.
I think they come down particularly hard on courier killers/feeders. Had that happen to me last week sometime and the very next day I got the message that he'd been thrown to the wolves..This works until you get to the point where some guy on your team just sits in fountain, buys donkeys, and feeds them.
Report griefers and hope the system works, move on to the next game.

I'm curious...what's the team game environment like in SC2? Is it just as hostile as DOTA?
So I just got a invite, and I've never really played DOTA. I'm trying to just play solo, or vs bots but the options are not clickable in the menu. I know people bitch if your retarded so I'm trying to learn before I go fucking up other peoples games. Any ideas?
It's odd because the higher level matchmaking games tend to be a LOT friendlier than the lower level ones. I have never in recent memory had someone say "fuck you" when I said "glhf." Yeah you get the occasional prick, but it's nowhere near as bad as when I was a wee little newbie.
Seems like there are a lot of new guys; I just got my beta key last week. Anyone want to form some kind of group for newbies to play together?
I would love this. Is there enough people on US East?... Are you on US East?
ggs.Need one more for a MM group.
i played with a gez once in hon once too. Zero map awareness and zero semblance of skill, i wonder if you're the same guy
Speaking of reporting people, wow have I reported so many people for the past few days. All of them are for racist remarks.
Currently playing with a Korean name, and people expect me to carry them rofl. One bad move and man oh man do the ignorant insults just come flying my way. It's not just me though, too many people calling each other n***rs and whatnot.
Sorry final, not really keeping an eye on the chat.damn haly that couldn't join us. =(
Just my opinion, but it might be beneficial to have maybe one decent player among a team of newbies. That way, he can commend on things done well and encourage things that could be worked on.
