I'm still not letting go of the 'haptic touch' rumors.

Here is a tablet which has that technology.

I'm not sure it will be haptic touch, but that line of the invite does have me wondering what's up. It's leading to something for sure, or it wouldn't be on the invite.

woah woah hold on, confirmed dual core for this new ipad?

hm, hope ipad 2 prices drop tomorrow then.

Nothing has been 100% confirmed yet, plus if it is dual it will be a supercharged version of the ipad 2 core. Even more, would you really want to miss out on retina, 1GB of ram, and a more powerful core?

I'm kind of disappointed in the dual core...but the A5 comes very close to a Tegra 3 in performance (I think). I would to see want a modified version could do.

The A5 wipes the floor with Tegra 3 in every benchmark I've seen. The A5X or whatever will blow it out of the water.

I got a quick question. Do any of you have all of your iOS apps stored locally on your hard drive or do you just have them in iCloud?

What is with people's reactions to this? Are people really that hung up on a feature checkbox? It's like if Apple somehow cranked the A5 to 4GHz it wouldn't be enough because it doesn't have four cores...

Touch screen AppleTV
Don't book it.

Apps are all on the hard drive. They disappear too often to rely on iCloud. TV shows, however, are increasingly in iCloud. Yeah, a few disappear, but since I download all the free stuff Apple puts out on the iTMS (songs, videos, movies (yes, there are a couple,) and TV shows (only the full length episodes)) I'm up to like 2 1/2 weeks of just TV shows. My hard drive has been crying lately, so every so often I delete 50 Gb or so of reality TV shows I'm never going to watch unless I become bed-ridden for months on end.

I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve tonight. Looking forward to tomorrow in a big way. Can't wait to see what Apple has in store and I hope there are a few surprises left for us to discover.

So if I order this thing when preorders start from Apple.com I should expect to get it on launch day right? How has this process usually gone for people? Is it smooth?

Nice. Does Apple.com charge sales tax? Would amazon have it up for preorder at the same time to avoid sales tax or is it strictly through Apple?

When preorders start?....they haven't done that since the iPad 1 so it is more like"if" unless there's been some late breaking news.

Seven inch ipod touch tomorrow, new ipad on the 16th.

How awesone would that be?

Pretty awesome. A 7.85" screen would make the user interface elements at 1024x768 exactly the same size as they are on the 3.5 inch iPhone - so it's definitely doable. I'm not sure it will happen tomorrow though.

Confirmed: $99 for new Apple TV
The Apple TV J33 model, MD199LL/A – J33 BEST -USA, which we’ve covered before will come in at the same $99 price point (and similar prices globally). We know from previous reports that it will have updated hardware internally including Bluetooth 4.0 Broadcom chip as well as a higher powered processor capable of 1080P video.

I know tomorrow is going to rock, all I really wanted was retina and 1gig of ram (to make browsing multiple webpages better, with little to no reloading). Everything else is gravy.

I wonder if they'll adjust the Canadian price. They only adjust the price when new models are released, and last time it got pegged at $119, so it's still $199. The exchange rate is slightly above par now, so I hope it hits the $99 price point here with the new one. (I still need to sell my old one.)

Seriously, Apple TV should be $99 CDN and iPad should be $499 CDN. This extra $20 bullshit needs to stop.

Yes, these are touchscreen devices. And if they're going to call these Retina displays they'll probably talk about it in the same magical way as the first time. It's a screen that must be seen and touched to be believed. I'm more inclined to believe they'll go towards glass lamination than a haptic display if that's the case.

After SJ passed away I felt I would never be able to get excited about an Apple event ever again. Ironically, I have never anticipated an anticipated an Apple event as much as the one tomorrow. The wait has been excruciating.

Am I crazy for wanting to go down to the mall tomorrow morning and work from there on the off chance this is available immediately after the keynote? There haven't been any rumors of such a thing happening, has there? I don't think they've done that since the old iPod days.

It wont be. It will be a week off at least.

They won't be available immediately. It's good for their image to give a few days/weeks notice so the media can get all those pictures of the long lines and hype it up as the gadget of FOREVER like they do every iphone and ipad launch.
