Too bad it's so expensive. After I bought my HP Touchpad 32 Gb for 120 € I can't imagine paying more than 200 € for a high-end tablet.

I'm in the same boat. I bought my Touchpad for $100 and I can't see myself ever replacing it unless future tablets get below $150.

iPhoto looks powerful, but I'm so tired of their UI design. Its gross.

I agree 100%. That UI might have been cool in 2008, but I think it looks really archaic now.

Debating on if I want to switch to 32gb 4G... I might only use the 4G once or twice a year on vacation, and even then there is usually WiFi in hotel rooms.

Not worth it if you can tether; and it's worth noting that whether it's 3G or 4G, the plan only works in the confines of the country you're in. You could presumably buy a SIM card and switch but it's entirely possible they won't support the same frequency.

Ugh. Maybe they'll update it in the future.

Honestly, the stunted iOS and lack of full app availability is what is killing the AppleTV for me.

The problem is it uses HW acceleration ... so that is likely a deficiency in the chip itself.


Even beyond the lack of High Profile 4.1 ... given the audio bitrate values listed, it's hard to imagine this gets anywhere near what's needed for BD video. The fact they aren't listing video bitrate should tell you something. Also disconcerting is the lack of DolbyDigital Plus. That means no DD+ Netflix nor Vudu HDX (assuming it even has enough bandwidth for Vudu HDX video anyway).


I'm pretty disappointed.

Got to the preorder page in the UK, when it decided to redirect me to the US site for no reason at all. Then the store crashed.

16gig for £400 or 32gig for £480? I doubt I'll be using it for recording video or taking photos, I can only really see myself using it for apps. 16gig would be enough for that, right?
