Sange and Yasha is a bit middling, but not bad. Gives you a ton of Survivability, some speed, and a decent buff placer. Its good for people who have crappy built in orbs (Like Sand King), or don't do to much auto attacking.

It's nice being able to surprise people by catching up to them, slowing them down, and killing them :D
 
Caustic Finale is a crappy orb? I dun believe what I'm hearing. It's great for pushing lanes, harassing elusive heroes (like Broodmother), and it's a powerful farming tool later on.

sand kings orb is amazing. attack every creep in a "wave" one time and then kill one and all die together in a chain reaction. :)
 
I'm sorry for asking out of pure ignorance, but a Steam message just popped up about a DOTA-GAF event taking place right now. How do I see/take part in that event?

I have DOTA 2, if you need to know.

Guess that was the in house, just launch Dota 2 and look for a private lobby with the password neogaf and join the game.

Its a crappy orb in a fight. Alright, Crystal Maiden Has Caustic Finale on her, when we kill her within 8 seconds of Sandking last auto attacking her, anyone in 400 range will take 200 magic damage, that will show 'em!

I really think it should just be a buff placer and not an orb, and allow Sand King to also have a normal Life Steal item, Desolator, Orb of Venom, or Skadi.

Ah, but au contraire, Desolator or Skadi are crappy orbs to have when pushing lanes or defending pushes.

Can't please everyone, can't have everything. But Caustic definitively suits SK's role better imho. If you really want a Deso on him, I guess just level stats till level 21.

Or, you could attack a creep, blow it up, attack another creep, blow that one up, and that's 300 damage right there.

Agreed, because Sand King's core has HotD, Desolator, and Skadi.

(No seriously, even if it wasn't an orb I still wouldn't get those items unless I was trolling. And if I WAS trolling, why should I care about losing Caustic Finale?)

that the fuck am i reading. You know what other skill isn't very good in a teamfight? Treants. They don't hit very hard, and thei'r attack speed is garbage. Furion should get a better skill because teamfights are the only things that matter!

Am I a noob? =(

I've found that I rarely have more than 3 items that need to be clicked with fast timing. So I bind Z,X,C. Reaching down instead of alt-pressing makes me much less likely to use an ability when I intended to use an item, especially in those panic moments. Binding isn't hard, just try it.
 
If I see some newbie SK building deso I'm going to blame you, Milk.

*Reads* Wait, Power Cogs burns mana? And Good bye old Dark Seer Aghanims upgrade. The new ones still isn't bad though, the illusions dealing more damage then the originals is pretty funny.

I Like the Morphling buff. To be honest, I think it may be worth it to get level 1, thats a decent "free" stat boost.

The Puck changes are nice too, I like their "Fix" to the Dota 2 Autocast issues. Take it out! Makes since. No mana cost on phase shift is great too.

Oh god, Shadow Fiend has even more souls now, and can gain them easier.

Hey, cheaper Animal Courier, cool. Yet costlier Flying Courier :/ I do like the "Goto Secret Shop" button though, hate sending it to the secret shop and finding it is 2 feet out of range when I am in the middle of a fight trying to buy items before a possible death.

Buff to Tranquil boots is nice, and its about time you can take apart S&Y.

"Courier death team bounty can only trigger while no couriers are dead", hehehe, great way to fix people feeding the enemy tons of money.

You would have to skip Caustic Finale, it over rides the other orbs. How can you troll if you can't easily farm the money to do so!
 
- Wall of Replica Aghanim bonus no longer creates allied illusions
- Wall of Replica Aghanim bonus now increases illusion damage from 70/80/90 to 100/120/140% instead

- Damage instances before breaking increased from 3 to 4
- Rejuvenate heal increased from 150 to 170

Lion
- Voodoo cooldown increased from 13 to 15
- Voodoo manacost increased from 110/140/170/200 to 125/150/175/200
- Voodoo duration increased from 1.25/2/2.75/3.5 to 1.75/2.5/3.25/4

Drow Ranger
- Silence AoE increased from 275 to 300

Sweet. No one I play got nerfed, people I do play got buffed.

this was all i really wanted, but glad to see he got other adjustments too. and yay at the omnislash change! having it cancelled because someone walked up a ramp is infuriating.
 
lol DS nerf is such a dota 2 targeted nerf, just like the AM one. CK, Lycan and Syllabear still shitting all over the full roster in the meanwhile. Also tbh, the Invoker nerfs dont actually address the real problem. T/EMP can be mitigated with mana boots, big deal. Its his lane presence thats the problem. The amount of health regen and move speed he gets is stupid, making him a godly chaser/counterganker and impossible to harass out of lane. I'd have rather seen that adjusted rather than Tornado and EMP be tweaked.

I would expect a lot of balance changes to reflect Dota 2 heavily since Valve can actually get telemetry data for that, whereas IceFrog has to guess a lot more with Dota 1.
 
Morphling got helped in a huge way with his buff and the buff to ethereal.

Two patches in a row Morph has gotten indirect buffs due to items. But he still has the problem of being a long game carry in a pushing meta and AM shitting in his breakfast.

The courier change is pretty big too. Supports can now afford an extra clarity or branch at the start of a game.

They still have to pay the same long run, but I guess at the start 20 gold is worth more then 20 gold 4 minutes in.


I like how they "Fixed" Centaur Warchief's ult, by simply making it 1:1 with Drow's Stat gain.
 
oh shit Rubick and Wisp in CM? This is gonna be interesting.

Most likely means they will come to Dota 2 "soon" IMO. Maybe by the end of June.

Also, some proxy Chen/Doom buffs with the neutrals getting buffs, and a Lion buff with the Range Creep having more mana.

Wonder how the CM Freezing Field buff will work out.

Also, I like the change to Sun Strike, Hopefully Valve also fixes the visual bug with Sun Strike in Dota 2 with this patch (The Crater draws on top of everything right now)
 
Sucks about Invoker/DS

Dark Seers wall was so funny to see with the agh scepter.

Invoker..hmm I usually do the emp/tornado the other way around anyway, because I always thought tornado'd people wouldn't get hit, I knew I was wrong but that's how I always timed it, so I actually don't think it will be that big of a problem. Increased cooldowns are a bit annoying though. Luckily Exort got buffed, and I was playing around with that lately and it works very well too. Except the very long cooldowns as well. Which is why I don't like the extra cooldowns on tornado/emp.
 
Damn at that ogre magi buff. SO GOOD ONE OF MY FAVORITE HEROES.

Weird how they took carapace off of NA and now are giving it back as an active. Decent change I guess.

That invoker buff/nerf is something I can agree with. Nice to see some changes to kunkka, morph, and ogre magi (pumped for this one). Puck's changes sound good to, I can finally get some appreciation for my dodges instead of people calling it auto cast :(.

- Removed Unexplored Fog of War (does this mean I can use blink anywhere now?)
 
I think new seer ags will be better because you can magnify a carry's damage back at his team.

I think so too. You cant do dumb pushes with it now, so its purely a teamfight ulti. However with the damage boost, I'm surprised there was no cooldown increase or active time decrease. Its a devastating ultimate and it stays out forever.

Yep. Furion can also TP to the enemy fountain if he knows a hero is heading over there to heal.

Is it just me or are Tranquil Boots going to be used a lot more? Since they can now be disassembled, you don't have to spend another 500 for boots when it comes time to throw them away, and some heroes might even find the other components useful, maybe to build a RoB or Mek or something.
