Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

Maybe she got preggers that last time they mind melded.
She tricked Shep into having a kid? That banshee!

Also didn't like how he's supposed to be an instructor at Grissom Academy and doesn't even talk about what happened there after the Cerberus attack. Man, his conversations are boring. He only talk about canadian beer, his dad and mother and how you are so mean because you worked with Cerberus.

At least he's pretty good in battle because of Reave (which you can learn form him) and Overload.
It's probably because BioWare didn't invest much time to the full development of these characters. We didn't really learn anything new from anyone who can join your party. Except maybe Javic, but even then I wanted more.

Funny you mention that. I have played some shit games, some shit endings, and some good games with bad endings(some of which people have mentioned here in this thread).

I still didn't understand why I was so effected by this. But man...I hear you. Something about the 6 years of real life that has passed since 1, the choices mattering from 1-2, the characters, the world and all the thought, to and ending that appears to have been written in a translated fortune cookie written by a person who doesn't understand the language they wrote the fortune in.

3 games, 6 years all served up into one massive pile of failfuck in one fell swoop is awe inspiring. Heroic fantasy...damn.

Hate to correct you but it hasn't even been five years.

I thought Kaidan was a lot more interesting in this game than the other ones. There were two scenes in particular that were really well-done if you romanced him as male Shep. I don't know if they were different if you were female Shep and had previously had a relationship with him.

The dinner scene and the London scene, to be precise.

I got super choked up with the Shepard and Garrus dialogue about meeting each other at the bar in Heaven near the start of the final push.

"There is no Shepard without Vakarian." One of the best fucking lines from the game.

The Shep-Garrus bromance is so good.

What determines who comes out of the Normandy?

Love interest I think. Tali came out of mine (even though I guess she should have died in London)

Well, she's the only squadmate from 1 and 2 who can't die at all.
She only makes a brief appearance in the second if you didn't get the DLC.

I was actually thinking about this. Is the only reason Liara was not a playable character in ME2, because she could die in that game? I mean she didn't play a huge part in ME3, but I found it a bit odd.

Can she actually be picked outside of The Shadow Broker?

I've come to the conclusion that I'd be 'satisfied' with the ending(s) (not happy, but not unhappy either) if the mass relays weren't destroyed.

That way, the galactic community is still somewhat intact, and then there's rescue hope for the remaining crew of the Normandy.

Can she actually be picked outside of The Shadow Broker?

Nope. I'm pretty sure someone at BioWare commented (pre-ME3) that she's fundamental to the story of all 3 games, so they chose to keep her in (/un-killable).

So think I will end up doing a replay of 1-2-3. Ashley was too much of a total bitch in 3, yes yes I get it, I worked with Cerberus and saved the galaxy go fuck yourself. Will romance Liara this time, at least she gets it.

No, Bioware explicitly said that the reason LIs from ME1 weren't squadmates in ME2 was because they could die in the suicide mission and then you wouldn't get your reunion in ME3.

It's fairly obvious that the writers are huge Liara fanboys/girls.

So, all this hubbub and I hadn't actually seen the main thread over in the Bioware Official forums...

Ya good point for sure. Even with just FTL still working it doesn't feel anywhere near the same.

Two scenes out of the whole game, but again, they don't show much about who he is as a person.

I remember when the dialogue wheel would have options on the left and right and become almost like a spider. That was rare in this game. :/

I see. I'm a bit of Liara fanboy, but one with no romantic inclinations.

Ya the petition is crazy.

I do notice that when you win the game that the notice says, "Continue to build on the legend with DLC and further gameplay" Hmmm...Maybe some kind of cheap hope is still out there.
I wonder how far away the crashed Normandy is from Earth. Maybe the DLC is "Find your Friends"

Just finished the game. Fresh opinions, mostly with the music and characters. Trying not to rant. Who am I kidding?

Oh god the music. Other than the Clint Mansell theme there was nothing, NOTHING I liked about this soundtrack. Any good cues came from previous ME games, but otherwise utterly forgettable. Perhaps I didn't read all the details, but when Clint Mansell's name was announced I thought he was doing the whole score. He worked on two tracks. TWO. The rest of the score didn't grab me in the least. Extremely disappointed. Jack Wall, you are missed.

And the game also was a disappointment in terms of new Characters. Each of the ME games introduced us to a wealth of new, amazing characters. Yet I think only 2 characters were interesting this time out. Javik for one. His design was awesome and his story was interesting, especially the flashbacks, but the choice to make it DLC was completely idiotic. I also enjoyed the Eve, the female Krogan for as long as she was in the story. The rest of the new characters were hopeless. Vega? Cortez? Diana Allers? How do you make Jessica Chobot look bad? Put her in a video game and give her the WORST rendered model ever. Kai Leng seemed like he was in the wrong video game.

There was strange bugs in this game too. On the galaxy map, I had a location that was pulsing but when I went to it, there was no mission to go to, yet a Planet was marked. No scanning would work. I ended up just ignoring it for the rest of my game. The Citadel was also pulsing, but I don't know if that was normal. I did exhausted every mission, overheard conversation. But there was some bugs like Barla Von's name appearing as a contact in my map, yet he was missing since the attack on the Citadel. I also had a problem with my mail where the mail from the past 10 or so hours just disappeared. So now If I continue the game, I actually have no more missions to play. Nothing else to do. It's very strange. Anyone else have this?

Also the EA bullshit wrapping around this game is hideous. Logging into EA servers, even just to play Single player? Then I finally log in to play some MP and I service dies on me. Then wait a week, play a few games. Dies again. Not my connection, but EA's crappy servers. Oh thanks EA for spamming me more after I registered.

So after all that ranting.. I actually enjoyed the game. The Combat was the best it ever has been in the series, and the graphics, while still occasionally glitchy, was still amazing. There are some great action set pieces here, and there were a far better variety of things to fight this time. Those Banshees. HATE. The scanning/planet stuff here was weaker tho. The scanning in system was just not fun, and the probing this time was so dumb, It didn't make sense to have it in the game at all. Not sure I like the idea of the side missions being doled out by overheard conversations either. All that meant is I spent much more time running around the Citadel listening to shit.

So there. I feel Drew Karpyshyn and Jack Wall absences here and I'm not sure how I feel about the ending... time will tell.

Yeah, I was all "I visit you a hundred times on the Citadel and all I get is "Hello Shepard", but now that we're about to die, you kiss me? Bitch."

I KNOW! ;_;

The amount of times bloody Traynor says, 'Liara would like to see you on the Citadel, Shepard' - and then I get there, and Liara's just sends me a bored 'Hello Shepard' while staring blankly in to the distance.

To be fair though, I thoroughly enjoyed all the intimate scenes with Liara in ME3. Ending aside, best gaem evar <3.

Agreed, the relays destroying no matter what was the final blow.

I can't help but think they wanted to be bold, but failed horribly. And of course, some last minute changes and mishaps.

Wasn't there a similar notice in the previous games?

DLC coming Q2 2012: "The Receptacle"

"With the Reapers in control of Earth and Cerberus in their pocket, can Commander Shepard and the crew of the Normandy recover the long lost Prothean Receptacle? Only with the use of the Receptacle can the mystery of the Crucible and the Catalyst be unlocked"

"Coming to an online marketplace near you for five hundred and ninety nine US dollars"

Most Salarians seem to be awesome. Mordin, that guy, Kirahe (spelling might be wrong).

The Dalatrass is a real pill. "Commit genocide against the Krogan's, or I'm not giving you my fleets!"

When you don't do what she says, she throws a fit.

Bold is one thing. Bold + misteps, mistakes, and holes just points that if they were so interested in being bold they should have BEEN ACCURATE as well:)
Which is to say, I agree with you.

Hahahahaha

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

If you are talking about what I posted. Yes. And there were sequels and DLC to make that statement true:) Like I said foolish hope.
I just understood it to be any fetch quests of missions people didn't do, plus any new DLC that includes new missions and fetch quests.

I would blindly accept some kind of DLC re-write, I really want the current 'ending' to go away. It's just sitting there, taunting me. MAKE IT STOP.

The Shep-Garrus bromance is so good.

It really is.

On another note, it was nice to see Kahlee Sanders. Seeing her and Shepard meet for the first time was pretty awesome. If only they didn't fuck up Deception we could've had the chance to see Gillian too.

I don't know. If they couldn't fit a proper ending into it, adding some DLC will be like a band-aid on a dead person . . .

Shep is dead, let him rest in peace.

I think I would accept an epilogue. That's all.

Edit: However, it wouldn't be the first game to have a DLC ending. Eugh.

The last 3 songs in the game are the only good part about the ending/
The first one, then the Clint Mansell track followed by the Faunts one.
For some reason the first track isn't on the soundtrack though. :(

Just beat the game. I am completely disappointed. It feels like everything you did was meaningless. Essentially Deus Ex endings but worse since they have the same random cutscene. You don't see the everlasting repercussions of what you did so whatever you chose means nothing in the end. Geth/Quarian peace, meaningless since they either die or you control them. Turian/Krogan peace? Meaningless since any interglactic relations go bye bye no matter what choice you made. I pissed off the Salarians? So what. It means nothing.

At this point, I honestly don't feel like ever touching the game again. ME2, for all its faults, made me want to jump back in and try different things to get a better ending. ME3 doesn't.

An after story of what the galaxy is like after his death and how your choices affected it?

Well and in my game he wasn't dead. I mean they could have had him breathing for no reason but Shepard in my game was still doing what he does best....survive.

I think that for those that strove for the good...but still shitty ending, to get a dead Shepard after showing him alive would be even more awkward.

Ah fuck it who am I kidding its a clusterfuck.
Hell maybe you are actually a child just playing with ships and dreaming about being Shepard when you grow up.
