In my opinion, bluish greys are 'grey', and brownish ones are 'gray'. My reasons are nonexistent.
The issue is when you build an MOC or a set and mix the greys. :|

It's beautiful. I totally get the appeal of owning all of the modulars. I really hope the upcoming Haunted House is part of the modular line instead of Monster Fighters.
Has anyone Bricklink'd pieces for the UCS Death Star II? How much did it cost?

I've considered it. Death Star II is one model I absolutely need to build one day.
LEGO has posted a voting site for the next round of architecture designs:

I know people have asked for St. Basils Cathedral in this thread. I don't how if it would be as nice in an architecture set though. I think I'd rather see it as a creator line like the Taj Mahal.

That Millennium Falcon set is rad. Really reminds me of the Kenner version I had as a kid. Even though I don't collect the SW line, I may jump on it anyway, just because it looks so darn awesome and fun.
Wow, this pic helps to remind me how far Lego instructions have come. I've had an ongoing inventory project with my collection going back about 15 years, and man, the manuals could be really awful! In some of the older sets, it basically comes down to a game of 'spot what's different between these two pics' with each step in the build. I've even had a few missteps with Green Grocer this weekend, which is fairly recent, because I couldn't tell what colors the directions were asking for. Recent instructions have been great with telling you exactly what you need, with colors that seem more distinct.
While I agree they need to do a better job on shades, specifically dark grey and black. Almost impossible to tell apart unless there is past reference on that step.

Now I am on the fence. Town Hall now with double VIP (my first VIP order!), or Grand Emporium off Amazon since they have it in stock again?
Town Hall. The VIP points would equate to $20 off your next purchase, which is still less than tax (assuming you aren't paying 10%+ taxes!).
3 plates = 1 brick, right?
I'm playing around with pick a brick at the online shop but they don't have the 2x10 brick, just 2x10 plates, so if I stack 3 of them, that'll do, right?

Yup. And god be with you trying to separate them afterwards.
2x10 plate is east to take apart, pretty much anything longer than 4 is.
LEGO designers should be kicked in the crotch if they double up on the smaller ones though.
It made me cringe so many times as I built the Imperial Shuttle and put together the 2x1 bricks. So much pain to come.
And just to make life easier, I ordered a brick separator with my Town Hall just seconds ago. One looks to come with Town Hall, so I got a second one.
So excited to build, and so not excited to be broke again. I pray for my wife's forgiveness.
Congrats! Looking forward to reading your impressions.
The TH does come with a separator, but it's the smaller variety - I prefer the larger one that you can buy separately, so good call!
man those modulars look amazing all together like that. fuck, I'm not going to be able to resist finally getting one, am I?
How often does Lego do double VIP points?

DOOO IIIIIT (no pressureI really don't think you'll have any regrets. The modulars are such fun builds filled with variety and unique techniques. Good stuff.
And the modulars have some of the best price per brick ratios out there. That is my easy justification for it. I think the only thing that puts it to shame for price per brick is Tower Bridge.
How would everyone rank the modulars?
For me it's Pet Shop > Green Grocer > Fire Brigade > Cafe Corner > Grand Emporium > Town Hall.
Grand Emporium and Town Hall just seem to have too much repetition to be that interesting. Cafe Corner looks awesome but no interiors hurts it. And Pet Shop seems really awesome because it's two buildings in one.
I really don't want to buy a modular because I know if I get one I'll want them all.
I suspect Pet Shop will probably fall in third, with Grand Emporium right behind it, once I finish them. My feelings towards Town Hall are lukewarm at the moment. Im in no rush to purchase it. I was hoping for a town hall model more in line with the version included in set 10184 Town Plan (or basically styled like the hall in Back to the Future). As it is, I feel they could have released it as a school and no one would have batted an eye.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. WTF?
I signed up for VIP weeks ago. I signed in on Lego.com before placing my order for Town Hall an hour or so ago. Now I try and log in and it says I have nothing, yet I have been charged for my order. What gives?
I got my first VIP points about the time I actually received my order, which was about 5 days after I paid for it, So it appears the points do not show up instantly. Be patient my friend![]()
Town Hall looks to be the most boring build, but the sheer size of it fascinates me.
