Diablo 3 Beta [Beta withdrawal underway!]

I finally updated the Beta and there were three items on my Monk that were now too high level to wear lol

And I don't know why but I can't start a Hardcore character even though I finished the Beta with my Monk. :(

Oh, also I guess we need to play softcore since you can't make Hardcore characters

edit: lol and then I get kicked out of battle net.
 
Odd I just got disconnected. I could see Jet chatting just fine. Not sure what the deal is, servers restarting or something.

Oh really? I couldn't see his text at all. Maybe he got stealth blocked for me, like how I was stealth blocked for Unknown Soldier.
 
No one here have a beta key for donate me i have been waiting for this game more than 10 years its my favorite PC game franchise
 
Random dude joined my game and told me to follow him.

So I did all the way through act 1... 'The Fields' were awesome

Anyone else visit the next few areas?

Oh yes, and i think those that comment about the game's difficulty could probably shut up now because we had lvl 13 barbs dying very quickly in some situations :D

Lots more random events and a nice random 2 leveled crypt with wretched mothers that spew 5-6 zombies at a time (5 in one room), new monster affixes, very very nice looking and BIG environments. Diablo 3 is going to be pretty good. :)

We are in good hands.
 
Hour of secret gameplay, starts at 13:40.
'Highlight' video of it once it gets processed. Just starts at the time I said.

I'm really bummed my mic was on the wrong input. I was enjoying myself a good deal. Lots of cursing too.
First time seeing those giant boars. OH man.

Grove @ 31:00. Wallers 53:50. Tinker 55:00. 57:50 Farmer. 1:13:30 Rathe. 1:19:00 Vortex. 1:23:00 Jailer (Non-Highlight Times)

Some notes:
I died
Trees are good at hiding
Poison from trees deals a ton of damage
Vortex mob (Swings you around)
Wall mob (Makes walls)
Jailer mob (Rooted)
Another kind I don't remember

Yeah, it's viral, like the ZG disease in WoW was.

The new content is pretty great. Some neat new events and dungeons. A lot of the dungeons are broken though, with placeholder text and you can't go in them.

The last area (of the act?) you can just walk around in a relatively tiny area. No monsters, so there's some scripting there that's not implemented. There's a few other points like that with impenetrable doors.

One neat thing was a new vendor who sold a rare. Interestingly enough, it seems as if the items on the vendor are shared between players.

All of it just makes me more pumped for the final release, even if they've some things more recently that I don't like, there's still plenty to love.
 
Would be interested in a GAF beta hidden content run if anyone here has access to the waypoint, I've been meaning to play the beta again and it'd be cool to play the hidden, yet broken content. :)
 
So, according to the rumors, there are chances of revealing the release date today. I wonder if it's true. And if it was, will this new hacked beta content leak affect it at all.

We can get you back some later time today. Unless they wipe the beta completely, I don't see this going away easily.
 
So I haven't really been keeping up with the beta, but what seems to be the general verdict on the changes Blizzard has made to the diablo formula since Diablo 2? Are they for the better?

Not sure about general, there's a lot of whining flying around as it always is with such a sequel, but I'd say definitely. Not going into the details I think they captured the spirit of the game perfectly and made everything even more enjoyable.

Hey gaf.
So I got invited to the friends and family beta last autumn but haven't had the chance to play until now. I've installed but whenever I press play on the launcher it just goes to a black screen. No sound/cursor, or anything. Just black.

C2Q/HD4870/4GB if that matters. Anyone know anything? All the results I found on google were related to Nvidia cards.

I think it's punishment for you having access for so long and not using it! [I can't help with your issue though, sorry :( I do not have any problems]

I'm very much against exploring these areas as Blizzard doesn't want us there, but I accidently was in one of them for a brief moment. Wanted to do a quick Skeleton King run, joined a public game, clicked a lit up banner without looking where it was since everyone but mine was lit up and that usually means they're all in the cathedral. Got ported to hidden area instead and went "oh fuck". Immediately left the game.

Until Blizzard says it's okay to explore these areas and we won't face consequences I won't be touching them.

Yeah, dodged a bullet there.
 
You won't face consequences. Especially since you can get into public games that are already in the out-of-bounds areas.

In related news, getting into off-limits areas was awesome in WOW.

Top of IF (airport) at the time was godlike. That is until a GM appeared before us.
 
Would these areas have mobs if they didn't want you there? hell would they even be in the beta client at all?

As said, WoW had tons of places you could exploit into, Mt. Hyaji even had "Under Construction" easter eggs.
 
I have no desire to see anything new until release to be honest. I guess I will just stick to my own private games so I do not have that happen.

The best place to explore in WoW was the beta/early version of hellfire peninsula underneath the deadmines. Loved that sort of thing.
