Lakers only need a mid-tier PG and some production from the SF spot to be a contender, though.

Bynum-Gasol-Kobe alone puts them ahead of most teams. They have the 3rd best record out West almost solely on their backs.
Yal sound like Knicks-age right now.

Heat fans don't get happy when they beat up on the Hawks after COLE WORLD NO SNUGGIE. Why are yal so hyped after getting a mid-tier PG and a PF most have never even seen play and beating the Hornets in OT?

Within a week of losing to the Wizards.

They also beat the grizz with out z-bo and gay in OT!!!!!

I think the Fisher move was to save Mike Brown from himself. Mitch knew that Brown would continue giving Fisher minutes even after the Sessions acquisition, so he prevented that entirely by shipping him out. We didn't need Jordan Hill, but honestly, Hill is probably as good as anyone we would have taken with that draft pick.

Not 1, not 2, not 3......

Because it shows that we are making progress and getting better? It's obvious that we aren't a great team this year. I'm just enjoying the games one at a time, I'm not saying we are favorites for anything. I just enjoy watching the team play, but my expectations are extremely tempered.

It's obvious PG play is holding us back, and to further that point; If we had Sessions against the Hornets we don't go into OT because Jack doesn't destroy us.

Have I mentioned Jordan Hill?

We are hyped because a mid-tier PG is all we might need to have a chance. Not saying it's definite, but at least it's possible.

And Lakers dumped Luke and Fish's money next season giving some flexibility going forward.

Mr. Big shot Horry to spurs- Dagger lakers

Fish to the spurs - ???

When we let Horry to the Spurs, he promptly went like 1/20 in the series against us. :D

Sabotage dallas, now spurs? hmmm

We're hyped because Fisher will not be playing pg at all this year and instead, a PG better than any PG Kobe has worked with in 10 years will be getting major minutes.

6 pt 2 of 5 shooting 3 asts 32% from three in 25 minutes, can't guard, can't run and lost his ability to throw an entry pass to two of the biggest advantages the Lakers have.

OR

10 pts 3.5/8 shooting 5 assts 42% from threein 24 minutes.

I mean come on. Cut the salt.

Sooo.... you're contenders now? No.

As a matter of fact, looooooooool no

It's possible. It really depends on how Peace, Barnes and Sessions play after this trade.

This Lakers roster only needed minor weeks, not a major overhaul. All they needed was a point guard and a small forward who could spread the floor - they solved one of those problems. I'm not overrating Sessions and saying he's a great player, but he does solve of the Lakers problems.

Down a motivated, great 6th man in Odom - add Ramon Sessions

PLAN THE PARADE

Margaritas in the back, kool-aid in the front
tl;dr dy doesn't want laker age to be optimistic. at all. everybody go home.
fuk yo team clown

its like yal didn't just get mopped the fuck up last year

That's the plan. Duncan is a FA after this year. He could hang around another year and talk Dwight into joining like Robinson talked Duncan into staying.

Dwight/Splitter/Parker/Oden (when the Spurs sign him and he plays for 20 minutes before blowing out what is left of his knees) core. Book it!

So McGee-Nene, Jefferson-Jax, and Bogut-Monta were the big trades this year.

Nothing groundbreaking, but I guess an average trade deadline. I'm curious to see how Karl handles McGee the most.

"Why y'all so happy?"

"Got rid of the worst PG in the league yo, upgraded to someone who isn't the worst pg in the league. We got rid of the worst sf in the league too. Saved some cap space. Things are looking so much better right now."

"But you guys picked up a mediocre pg."

"He's not the worst in the league."

"But he's not as good as jim, john, or james."

"Better than what we had. A lot better in most people's eyes."

"But he ain't gonna win you a chip."

"Don't need him to. Just need him to do pg stuff."

"But why y'all so happy?"

Prior I thought WCF would be The Lakers ceiling this year, with Sessions that doesn't change. Their chances to get there increases and I think if they get there they'd still be the underdogs.

Fuck it. Still happy.

The other great part is, like I said, flexibility for next season.

Lakers shed $9 million in next season payroll. With Metta being amnestied, that's $16 million. They can use some of that to re-sign Sessions if he works out.

They still have an $8.9 mil TPE to use in the offseason until mid December. That means they can do a sign + trade deal (last year) for a decent amount.

Lakers improve now, shed salary for next season with the ability to get better before the real LT hits.

As I said before, the Lakers got their books in order. Thats an accomplishment. They no longer have to deal with Fisher's player option, Luke's contract is gone, and the pieces they added aren't hefty.

In terms of basketball, its arguable they got better too, but largely they stayed the same. Its still a 3 person team. The penetration of Sessions will help I guess, but I still expect Steve Blake to start.

They didn't go gangbusters or anything, which I guess can be expected with the way they've been playing lately (esp Bynum); I don't think they are the team that made the largest changes this trade deadline.

If bynum and pau Do wade/bosh number we can atleast contend to confrence finals.
