Of course Plascke would criticize the Fisher trade.

The Lakers traded Derek Fisher, and it feels so wrong, it feels so cheap, and I don't care if he was aging, and slowing, and sliding toward the end of the bench.

He was still Derek Fisher. He was still the guy who could turn final seconds into lasting memories. He was still the coolest guy on the floor and the smartest guy in the room.

He wasn't just the Lakers point guard, he was their conscience, the only guy who ever stole a sideline huddle from Phil Jackson, the only player who others respected enough to treat like a coach.

He wasn't just Kobe Bryant's keeper, he was his buffer, constantly stepping between the Manic Mamba and misunderstandings with the rest of the team, protecting new guys from Bryant's wrath, protecting Bryant from himself.

Don't lie, if Thabo and Nick were wearing green and gold you'd be slurping them too.

I hated the Nick pick when it happened.. and I already lived through the Askew era thank you very much.. I perfer my SG to be able to do what their position suggests they are able to do..

I think the most important question for the Lakers, post-Fisher: who will be konex's new scapegoat?

He has been working up to that for the last two years.. I can't tell you but I can give you a hint...

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain

Fisher is gone, and they're better for it. Fisher would be better off as an assistant coach, not a starting point guard.

I agree.

Plaschke is his typical over-dramatic self. He's been trying for years to be Jim Murray, but he's never had the insight, the restraint, or the wit.

Please be just a dislocation (or better: no injury!) please please please.. I don't think I can take losing both our franchise players for an extended period of time within a week.
