Nothing says "compete" like trading for Johnny Flynn and Hasheem Thabeet.

My lasting Jonny Flynn memory is how Target Center crowds used to really get on him. He came out after the trade and said he didn't understand why.

In general, I'm not for booing your boys. I give Flynn heckling a pass.

My lasting memory of Hasheem Thabeet is him getting powerbombed by Dejuan Blair for a rebound back in college.

Hi Rodeo.

Who do you feel worse for in modern'ish basketball?

Roy
Oden
TJ Ford
Nash (lol)
Rubio
Jeff Green
Nene (as of today)
Shaun Livingston

Sure Im missing somebody, but kind of has to be Roy or Oden, right?

1) Oden
2) Roy

3) Nash Because its obvious now he's more concerned about that paycheck

surely phoenix gives oden the minimum or something right

even if you get an ilgauskas type resurgence it would have been worth it

Pierre Jackson is the best player on Baylor...or rather the only one who gives a shit.

Probably because he's the only one who isn't a lock to get paid

Kahn & Adelman met w/ Beasley after deadline passed, sounds like they basically said your future is up to you Mike these next 6 wks or more

Beasley said b4 tonite’s game he’s OK w/ bench role, but wants to play more. Think RA told him he will if he rebounds/defends every nite

Hopefully Beas sees the dollar signs.

Should he play really well the rest of the way, I'd hope they'd know better than to make a commitment to a guy that played out of his mind for a few weeks when there's 4 years of tape on him.

Derrick is the future, not Beasley.
Totally. I could see them signing him for a smallish contract, though, if no one offers him anything stupid big. Although we all know how dumb teams are with spending on scorers.

has to be Roy for me.. because he showed how great he could be... Oden has nothing but scouting upside to his resume..

1) Roy
2) Jay Williams

Nick Friedell posts another dumbass article about Boozer. It isn't Boozer's fault that the Bulls didn't do their research. They had years of footage to gloss over! Yeah, Boozer scored only 2 points yesterday, and I'm convinced he did that to sabotage any trade talk, but I'd rather he play team ball than chuck up terrible shots. Boozer can't play as a back to the basket player on the Bulls. Not when he has to keep the lane open for slashers and for Rose constantly. If Boozer doesn't produce in the playoffs, that's on the Bulls, not him. If the Bulls got suckered into thinking he was something he isn't, that's their fault.

Yao.

I feel worse for Yao.

Out of everyone listed there, he cared more about winning than any of them, and tried his god damn hardest for it no matter what around him. (thats not to say the others didn't, just that i feel he wanted it more than anyone).

There aren't expressions or words created for how wrong that statement is.

has Aaron Brooks chipped in China yet?

No. Fuck him.

2 year minimum deal, i'm all for it. But nothing more than 2 years.

Wait, the Nets traded their pick for Gerald Wallace, and it's only top-3 protected? LOL.

And what in konex's name possessed the Nuggets to trade for McGee?

I liked Yao.. but to me Roy really left it all on the floor.. even with his ability to walk in danger he came back for the playoffs

Yao played, even though the bone he walked on, was split. Vertically.

I can see the roy argument, but yao is one of the guys i feel worst about over the last decade. Just preferences.

Both would/could be the best at their position if they were in the NBA today.

Wow.. Blazers can get a 4-10 pick next year?

Without doubt.... Both teams would be so different if both players were here today..

Oden hasn't really showed me anything besides fouling out in a summer league game, which was awesome!

Jay Williams is another kid that I really felt sorry for.. wonder how his career would have gone..
