Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

If that means you'll come over and beat this stupid fucker before I put a hole in my TV... then yes, direct intervention is very fucking necessary.

Still fighting him. Nothing works. I'll do good and then bam -- insta-death out of nowhere. I would seriously break the nose of every fucking idiot that OK'd this fight if given the chance.

It's inexcusable.

What class are you?

Unless George Lucas is involved. Then it is completely sacrilegious.

Just to elaborate on that particular issue: That's mostly because he doesn't acknowledge the original releases. Most people would be fine with the abhorrent changes, *if* the DVDs/Blu-rays also included the original ones.

Even Ridley Scott included the original theatrical releases of Blade Runner on the DVD discs, yet Lucas does not even acknowledge the original ones.

Now we train him and unleash him upon BioWare.

I think by the time OT2 rolls around we're going to have to merge them or something. I've pretty much completely stopped posting in my own thread. :lol

Train him, we will. Master the Dark arts, he must.

So it'll make the first ever merger of the spoiler thread and OT?

And I'm asking for for an explanation or reason why you would. I'm curious, that's all.
And I gave you that reason the first time, it's spineless. If you're willing to change anything you have to say based on the whims of the audience, you clearly have nothing meaningful to say.

At the slow rate that thread's going they'll probably just make this the OT haha.

And then the OT3 will just be transformed into the new "mass effect franchise bitching" thread.

My issue with the ending of the Mass Effect trilogy is that it was not executed well (Joker was at the Battle for Earth, no way he and the crew magically ended up in the relay) and they didn't lay any groundwork for what comes next.

If they had people in the game talking about the need to end their reliance on the mass relays and showing ways to do it, that at least would provide the foundation for the future of the Mass Effect universe. Right now the galaxy is just screwed. It is as if someone magically got rid of all planes, boats and highways, society would be in a pile of hurt if our transportation systems were destroyed like that.

I love the depth of the universe BioWare created with Mass Effect and for them to say that any new games would take place before or during the war makes me wonder what the future holds for that universe.

The same thing always happens in sci fi when the author removes a system everyone in the galaxy relies on (ie. farcaster network) and a lot of people arent going to live through the transition but in the end it's better for a civilization to build its own means instead of being slaves to convenience

I could do much, much worse.

The fight is completely reliant on luck. There is no skill involved.

Luck that he doesn't focus on you all the time. Luck that he doesn't shoot when your shields are down. Luck that the troops bunch up and die quickly. Luck that the AI gets overwhelmed and he/troops freeze in place for a few seconds. Luck that your squad's powers actually hit an enemy instead of the fucking floor.

It's a terrible, horribly designed fight.

I've tried 10+ times and always die during round 3 with the phantoms. I'll get to a point after 1 phantom is dead and suddenly my shields are gone out of nowhere, then my health immediately drops to 1% and I can't do anything. No one is near me, I have no idea what the fuck is happening. Shields just drop and it's insta-death.

Try to heal? Die.
Take cover? Die.
Roll? Die.

Chain overlord + lift grenades is all you need.

We are talking about Kai Leng in the Illusive Man's office, right?

When Leng attacks you for the instakill attack, you have an opening to tap the melee button a lot. If you have hints on, it should have told you that. Sometimes it doesn't, though. Overpower him and he'll retreat to range again. He still packs a mean punch from range with that gun of his, but have your squadmates focus on him, while you handle the other guys.

Also, Medi-gel can heal Shepard, so if you're down to very little health, pop a Medi-gel and Shepard will be fine again.

But they already have nothing meaningful to say. If they did they'd have said it rather than "more speculation from everyone", that's the epitome of having nothing to say. Making the changes and at least they are saying "we're a business that wants to keep our fans happy".

Soldier.
Insanity.
EDI and Liara.
Carnifex, M8, Black Widow.
All ammo powers except Ice maxed.
Concussion maxed.

Would you be willing to go grab Javik instead of Liara? His dark channel move and lift grenades are broken. I wish i could help in some other way, but literally the only class I know nothing about is soldier.

oh man, if this is what he's talking about, that fucking sucks. stupid design choice.

I don't want to spoil anything, but I'm curious, is there anyone in this thread who has finished both Infinite Space and the Mass Effect series?

YES

INFINITE SPACE FUCKING OWNED.

And when you do a NG+ and start the game you're like OH MY GOD

ALL OF THESE THINGS I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE

This is my reaction to Infinite Space:

I didn't mean literally have a very specific message to give, I meant have an intent and deliver on it. The 'more speculation from everyone' is actually evidence they did exactly that. If people like that or not. I personally do not, but I respect it. I don't respect retconing based on audience pressure, especially when you're closing a three game long arc.

It still irritates me Kojima folded under internal pressure about the ending of MGS4, it's embarrassing.

If anyone doesn't already own ME2 and wants to, you can go to best buy and buy a Gamer magazine for 5 bucks which has a 15 dollar coupon so you're getting 10 bucks off the game.

$10 for ME2 is a pretty good deal if you dont already own it.

I agree and I doubt they will change anything. It would be nice to get some DLC that give us some clues about what happens in the future though

I dont remember having much problem against Leng in TIM's office. But then again it was on Hardcore, not Insanity.

BJK;ADGUIPBASBIFGIAupgf aegbuio[agabyipabyhipfdgvbyipafvlaggvbujRIPGBFBRFVBYIAEVYHIP ABYIPHVAH;

Who's the stupid shit-sucking cunt fuck that designed this fucking anime ballerina asshole!? I'm gonna sodomize them with a splintery baseball bat wrapped in barbed-wire if I ever meet them.

I have never seen something so unfair/unbalanced in my life. A fucking enemy that cannot be stopped, constantly running AND SHOOTING at you ALL THE FUCKING TIME! Shields are down in 0.10sec and health in 0.01 after that. Stupid fucking design to have an enemy that never gets stunned no matter what you do to him.

And you have to fight his fucking butt-buddies when his bitch ass has to take a breather, and of course, they all focus on you because your 2 other teammates don't exist. Then in the 3rd round you have to fight his 2 cunts that move just like he does, constantly advancing on your position and never flinching when shot.

Real genius decision to put every fucking action on the X button, by the way!

Stand and fight? Die.
Take cover? Die.
Climb out of cover to avoid a grenade? Die.
Do anything? Die.
Bioware? DIE DIE DIE FUCKING CUNTS!

Yes. I mad. I very mad.

Liara is more usefulto me than Javik as she can Stasis the phantoms.

Yeah, I know about the mashing O for the melee, but it only works right at the start of the fight. If I let him rush me at any other time he'll just cut me down or I'll do the standard punch and that gets me killed.

I map Medi-gel to triangle but when my health gets down to 1% from whatever bullshit attack, I still die faster than it can heal.

Am I the only one who is disappointed that there wasn't any space battle gameplay instead of just a cutscene (like rogue squadron, or maybe even homeworld)?

Turians and quarians are carbon based, their amino acids are reversed chirality from the rest.

Huh. I thought I had read that they're silicon based. Either way, they're incompatible with Earth food.

But I realized something: Curing the Genophage is the worst thing you can do, considering the ending.

You just allowed the Krogan to repopulate at their old rate, while removing a major leader, and then demolishing any resistance to their expansion.

Why should they cooperate with the Galactic council when it no longer exists?

Really, that's the hardest fight on Insanity? Because I just started on Insanity and beat that without dying. If that's the hardest fight then Insanity is not much of a challenge.
Well, that or the rachnai level. Keep in mind that my first playthrough was on insanity though.

Very true I just hope that we will see what comes next for the Mass Effect Universe in new games.

Who cares, they're probably nuke themselves again or be too busy killing each other to re-develop or maintain FTL travel. None of it mattered anyway.

Bowing to audience pressure isn't always a bad thing if the audience pressure originated from a legitimate compliant, and making a change in that situation would actually be owning up to a mistake.

If George Lucas made Han shoot first again because of audience pressure, I'd respect him more.

Lucas claims he never shoot first, the original edit was just misleading.

Mass Effect space battles mostly take place among capital ships which is more fun to watch than play
I wanted a dialog wheel space battle. Shaprd standing at the Galaxy Map terminal which is now showing a 3D LADAR representation of the fight, and then give commands to the Normandy and some of the allied fleets. Joker is the pilot, after all, and Garrus is the gunner, so no need to have Shepard in some silly shooter sequence.

It really is kind of a cheat that in what is one of the biggest space battles in sci-fi, you get to do nothing at all as the player.

I dont remember having much problem against Leng in TIM's office. But then again it was on Hardcore, not Insanity.
Yeah, on Hardcore I beat the ever-living shit out of him. I couldn't kill him fast enough. He spent the whole fight fleeing my wrath. Dude was basically weeping in a corner. Fight lasted like thirty seconds.

But then I was a Vanguard and that's basically God Mode once you level up Charge and Nova and grab Energy Drain from Tali. I could have played the whole game without companions.

Humans got screwed. They finally get a seat on the Council and then there is no more Council. Whoops.

What about the volus? They spent years not getting a seat simply because they had no military, despite running the galactic economy.

Then the Citadel is destroyed and the galactic economy blows up.

Am I the only one who is disappointed that there wasn't any space battle gameplay instead of just a cutscene (like rogue squadron, or maybe even homeworld)?

I wasn't disappointed per se, but I was almost expecting it at that moment the fleet was gathering.

It would've been a pretty cool surprise to blast some Reapers while zipping around in the Normandy.

Soldier.
Insanity.
EDI and Liara.
Carnifex, M8, Black Widow.
All ammo powers except Ice maxed.
Concussion maxed.

Dump on him with the carnifex (disrupter ammo), using adrenaline rush and use your frag grenades. Warp for Liara, overload for EDI. Keep designating Kai leng for weapons fire. This should take them to pieces in no time.

Edit: oh and stay far back, there is no cover but it shouldn't matter.

That fight is super easy on normal. :p In all seriousness, just bring Javick and spam his lift grenades. I had no problems at all on that fight. Also, what special power did you choose from one of your squadmates?
