DUM DUM DUUUM

The "family box" or the "Hardcore box" is bullshit.
The way third parties are already treating it? lol
Isn't there a seperate dev porting AC3, for example? Why not just include it as part of the main dev pipeline - the code should, by all accounts of what we know, be portable?
Yeah, but I was talking more about how size of a development team per se doesn't have to do with amount of games.
Also keeping in mind that Monster is not a first-party developer (unless things changed recently), but seems that with their (strong) relationship with Nintendo, they can have the luxury of taking time with their projects. In 5 years they released 4 games: ExciteTruck, ExciteBots, ExciteBike: World Rally and Pilotwings Resort.
I think your ignorant calculations are fine, but I think you omit one detail regarding those two pools: they're not multiported. A ROP's read-modify-write access to the eFB has to be arbitrated against other clients like the blitter that does the eFB resolves to main RAM, and similarly eTM has to be filled in by DMA engines while the filtering engines are fed from it, which means the readers are arbitrated against the writers of that pool. In this regard, both pools are not really as 'closely-coupled' to a processing unit, even though they have great performance characteristics (for their respective clients) - both pools are more akin to caches. Of course, all that is semantics; the important question, is if those characteristics will be met by IBM's edram, and I think the answer will be affirmative.
The world of journalists fanboys doesn't matter anyway. Not in the world of journalists and fanboys.
Interesting information and I appreciate the update.Monster Games is a first-party developer. They are developing games for a first-party publisher and are not a licensee paying fees. Ownership is another thing entirely. That is all it is really and not this semantic listing people on forums like to imagine sometimes. Perhaps at some point they will break away and develop games as a licensee for third party publishers.
2004-2006 Excite Truck
2006-2009 Excite Bots
2006-2009 Excitebike World Rally (WiiWare)
2009-2011: Pilotwings Resort
I count 7 years for 3.5 games. Keep in mind their first 3 games were theoretically co-developed by Nintendo SPD3 in the planning, music, and production. Pilotwings Resort was the same deal, with the obvious amenity of being handed some type of Wii Sports Resort assets and engine.
I really appreciate your responses and the paper you linked up-thread. Thank you.

No!! I'm not listening, you're wrong.... lalalalala!!!!!!!!Buncha rude, lousy ingrates up in here.

You're welcome. Just remember to take all that low-level gibberish I spout with a grain of salt - I'm a software guy.I really appreciate your responses and the paper you linked up-thread. Thank you.
I very much want PilotWings U to show off some beautiful high-definition environments and innovative gameplay with the controller.
The original PilotWings was the very first Nintendo game I bought, not counting Super Mario World that came packed in with the SNES.
That reminds me of that idea i had a few weeks back.I very much want PilotWings U to show off some beautiful high-definition environments and innovative gameplay with the controller.

Is it weird that I always mix this one up with Body Harvest?

After watching a little bit of the Uprising footage in the OT, I now have two fond wishes:
- Uprising blows the fuck up in popularity which then results in:
- A Wii U version of Kid Icarus. I fucking love the personality Sakurai's given the universe and I'm already sold on the gameplay. A big production on Wii U neeeds to happen.
Basically ever device/tech I own I leave in sleep mode for almost it's whole entire life and it's great, it's weird that consoles are the only thing I have that can't emulate that.
You only find that if you go looking for it. I don't think they mention Wii U on the main site anymore.Nintendo still has info about "Wii U" plastered all over their own web site. They probably just don't want any third-party disclosure of new information (like what will or won't run on the Wii U).

One thing I've always wanted, is for consoles to have some kind of small battery integrated, so in case you're playing or downloading a firmware or something and the power goes out, you can manually shut down the console to avoid corrupted files, saves etc. Kinda like a UPS, but smaller and integrated inside.![]()
I really want those tech dem-EXPERIENCES to be a pack-in thing. Shield Pose looks too goddamn fun.
I'd rather Sakurai work on something like a Captain Falcon RPG.

Come on guys, less than 16,000 posts to go! I'm sure we can do it before April 1st!

What? Best idea ever!Captain Falcon RPG? Bleh, how about a beat-em-up by Platinum with CF Falcon Punching the fuck out of everyone?
80 days remain.
I think the moon moved an inch closer to the L.A Convention Center. Or the Nokia Theater.

What? Best idea ever!
just press the big red "BRO-WIN"-Button over and over again to falcon punch everyone in a whole city.....scratch that!...whole country to gain a endless amount of XP to become as strong as.....Captain Falcon! And start over from there.
It's almost a self fullfilling Falcon-prophecy
Uch... When will people stop talking about hologramm stuff?Wasn't it the Nokia Theater(or maybe Kodak) where there was that mad speculation about nintendo needing a big hall for their hologram demonstration? E3 is truly a magical time for nintendo...
I think a compromise is in order. Captain Falcon action RPG co-developed by Platinum and Monolith.
...no?Has anyone thought that while Nintendo has been trying to base their system on 360 hardware for architecture familiarity that there could be some discs lying about for 360 that have a port of Mario Galaxy/SSB:B/DKCR?
Surely because of the supposed architecture similarities and need to practice on different hardware they would have done so...
I want one of them discs.
The Hollywood & Highland Center. What is Kodak centre called nowadays, after the whole fiasco that started?

...no?
Nintendo's plan isn't to literally copy the Xbox 360 and then upgrade it. Plus, if those disks leaked online it would be a nightmare for Nintendo.
I realise that, my point is I'd like to see the work-in-progress Nintendo made HD games before they sit in a scrapheap... regardless of whether it would be a nightmare for Nintendo i want one.
Even if you got the "discs" (though, in development games usually aren't on discs) they would only be playable on a devkit.
Stay away from crack man! It's a hell of a drug! Nah really, don't! Just say no!I realise that, my point is I'd like to see the work-in-progress Nintendo made HD games before they sit in a scrapheap... regardless of whether it would be a nightmare for Nintendo i want one.
