Yeah. I was really hoping the Crucible was like a super laser or something. Like we can put starchild in a glass dome and use him as a powersource to destroy his reapers one by one.
Hackett out!And then Hackett said "Oh wait nope it's firing now lol my bad thanks Shepard" and the Reapers were destroyed.
But it doesn't invalidate the theory itself and as it is the interpretation that makes the most sense, I am sticking with it until something in the story refutes it.]
For me, if they continue the series following the absurd sequence of events following the ending or maybe have shepard acting in such a way that is against what the reapers want with no real distinction than if he didn't, then yeah, it's hard to keep believing in it when they are continuing with the line that the ending actually happened. At that point, it wouldn't seem likely to me.
Well, I don't really care about what bioware does or anything. I just want mass effect to get the treatment it deserves. Bioware would be very shady if they decided to sell it as DLC, but I care enough about mass effect to go to many lengths to make sure it remains intact.
I thought the same thing for a while, but I think he gets better later on in the game. The conversation between him and Drunk Tali reveal that's he's just a Tsundere. He all but says "Shut up! Baka!"
And then Hackett said "Oh wait nope it's firing now lol my bad thanks Shepard" and the Reapers were destroyed.

Your destruction, brought to you by BioWare. That'll be $10.I think I just need to let this argument with you go, though I do hope you're using those terms in an ironic fashion. Oh god what am I doing. I've been really arguing with myself the whole time, it's an allegory for my own struggles to accept the ending, I've become what I hate most.
People like Ben , Sterling , Jason at kotaku think they are a lot smarter than they really are. It's just the way shit goes. I actually liked Ben but he turned into kind of a Dick recently. BTW who are you if you don't mind me asking? As a fan of the three games, the way Bioware has responded and the way some members of the press have patronized me and characterized me leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Apparently I'm suffering from an entitlement complex, and apparently I'm also too stupid to see through cleverly worded PR manipulation.
At least when I read this thread I can see I'm not the only one. I can only pity those like Ben Kuchera who think it's simply a matter of being upset at a bleak ending and can't recognize all the plot holes, inconsistencies and poorly written one-way dialog that made the ending the nasty pile of rotten garbage that it is.
I lol'd!
"Sorry there was a grapefruit jammed under the firing pedal. All good here. How are things on your end, Shepard?"
"well actually-"
"OHP, No time for that, Shepard! The Crucible is doing stuff!"
@JessicaMerizan main thing I want to hear about is whyd my squad abandon me? Theres no Shepard without Vakarian. Best friends to the end

@Jump919 that's likely something that wouldn't be addressed in a blog post. We're listening to your feedback for content- you deserve it![]()
he then describes how awesome the space battle is over the comm.
there is no cutscene, just hackett's description.

...find it just less likely, not disproved. Hmm, is there any way you would ever dismiss the indoctrination theory?
So nothing they ever do matters unless it's in favor of your own opinion.
Sorry to be so crass, but you seem to be more hurt and in denial over the ending not being what you wanted than anything else. You have to accept what they did to move on. You can believe the indoctrination theory or any other fan-fiction in your heart as a 'true' ending more in spirit with the game but the official version is what it is and that's not going to change.
Okay? For some reason you keep disregarding the fact that I don't care what the creator says. Again, if you do, that's fine, but are we discussing my point of view here, or yours. So Ridley says it was made with the replicant in mind, what of it? Why can't those 2 films exist on their own independantly of each other, with one saying one thing and the other saying another?I always preferred Blade Runner being ambiguous, but the Director's Cut and Ridley Scott's own comments make it clear he designed the film with Replicant in mind, even though the writer preferred ambiguous and Harrison Ford wanted human (iirc). The original cut is still ambiguous, but the DC is not.
I think I just need to let this argument with you go, though I do hope you're using those terms in an ironic fashion. Oh god what am I doing, I'm stereotyping and being insulting. I liked Shepard's almost dead voice.
I...DUNNOOOOO HAO
WHATTTTTTT
Wait what!? CDP? Space? I hope it's RPG related. Like, The Witcher in space. Literally. You could be some space witcher killing space mutants and having sex with every female you see.
I like to imagine that's exactly how he sounds when he's drunk.
"oh man this is soooooo cooooool"
Much like the 'angels versus demons' episode of Southpark.
Hackett just going all:
"ooooow, and that reaper is sooo getting busted up right now"
"ah darn it, we lost [insert ship]"
"I see some lifepods, but not a whole lot"
"aaah! Man, that exploding Reaper nearly blinded me. Good job men, keep up the fight!"
damn thing writes itself.
BTW who are you if you don't mind me asking?
Let's have the BIG REVELATION of the game be delivered by the worst voice actor since Heavy Rain! YEAHH!!!

First of all kudos to Bioware dropping that on a Friday night. Way to let it get buried.
Secondly, looks like they're playing off the DA2 playbook.
Talk about how great their game is and how the critics love it, thus subtly insinuating that those who have problems with it are wrong and a minority, and then pay lip service to their concerns.
Great.
None, because there won't be a Truth DLC unless they are planning it at this very moment. I don't think they have enough speculation to create it.It's like watching a train-wreck.
Read: "I dunno lolz, DLC will fix it."
On the other hand, how much crow will we be eating if the Truth DLC turns out to be true?
Blasto was the best part of the game! I would have rather banged an Elcor escort than got that ending. Coquettish minx!

The PAX Panel is definitely going to be a bloodbath. I pity the poor community managers.

There's an excellent write-up on the BSN forums from a former PR damage control employee, describing the various strategies BioWare and EA are working through right now.
They lost a lot of fans already
And you STILL, after 3 posts, haven't answered me what happens when an author changes his mind in the middle of the project. What will happen if Bioware goes with the indoctrination theory in their DLC? How do you reconcile the idea of original intention with new content of the same continuity made with different intention?
Well, look at George lucas. 20 years after the Original trilogy has been solidified into our minds of the story of Luke going on a hero's journey, George goes "NOPE, IT WAS ALL ABOUT ANAKIN'S REDEMPTION". Are you seriously going to take his point of view on this simply because he is the author? It's not even whether his interpretation is valid or not, it's just a matter of whether you allow his interpretation to trample over yours, no matter how much yours works better.

"Can we just keep our own bodies?"
"No, you can't."
"Why not?"
"If you do, you will be harvested by synthetics."
"You mean like now?"
"That you are standing here is proof my solution no longer works."
"Why?"
"...I need a new solution."
"Why?"
"Please pick your favorite color."
"Can I please speak to the manager?"
Even in the completely implausible best case scenario of BioWare retconning the ending (including space Casper) with a sizable, free expansion pack, nothing will change the fact the first playthrough will always be soured by BioWare's incompetence.
