So, how pissed are Dolphins fans now? Their only options are Matt Moore or Alex Smith? (Or David Garrard?)

Get Brent on the phone!

Or maybe even...

Hmm, will Seattle still go with the QB training camp battle between Jackson and Flynn, despite Flynn's contract? Gotta go with Flynn based on that.

Figure Peyton will go to the Titans now for the easy road to the playoffs now that the Seahawks are the new division favorites what with Flynn and all.
I'd wait to name us division favorites until we see what happens at QB for SF. I'll jump on board the Flynnsanity train though. Hope he can beat out T. Jack :p

The West is going to be fun next year.....well, except for the Curds, who are stuck with sucky Kolb.

You knock the cards but not the rams? What WR's did they even add to help bradford? (I honestly can't remember if they signed one or not) I mean, they could take Blackmon, but thats about all they've got for options.

That is a great deal for the Hawks. Considering what Kolb got for a contract with limited time starting. This really lets the Hawks have cap space to sign long term deals in the near future with Chancellor, Thomas, and some other players as well as room to sign future free agents.

Well done Hawks.

Considering how bad their QB situation was last year, I think it's a great move. Even if Flynn is as bad as the haters want him to be, he'll be about twenty times better than T-Jack.

No one wants to come to dolphins and I blame the owner and Jeff Ireland. The way they fucked sparano told everyone they are amateur hour.

Well, thats if he's not taken by the Browns. But yea, I guess Tannehill is their last best hope? (I don't watch college ball, would Dolphins fans even want to draft this guy at 8?)
A&M were their typical Aggie selves, but Red turned out alright. Maybe they only suck while they're still at aTm.

Browns would be pretty crazy to draft him at #4. Maybe in their second 1st from Atlanta.

Someone's going to reach on him. No one thought Ponder or Locker were going as soon as they did either. I'd be surprised if he makes it to their second 1st from Atlanta.

Although rethinking it, who still needs a qb? Dolphins, Browns, Denver (I'm not convinced Elway will stick with Tebow, but doubt he uses a first on Tannehill, and this is assuming they don't get Manning). I'm drawing a blank after those, and Denver is arguably not even in search of one.

If Denver doesn't get Manning they'll draft a QB I'm sure, but not early. Dolphins and Browns are just the other two, so it really boils down to those two clubs. I am a bit surprised somebody like Kyle Orton took the backup job in Dallas rather than try to start some place like Cleveland or Miami.

sounds like u mad we ended up with harbaugh and you ended up with cheatin' pete

I'm not mad, this is your schtick. Even when your team sucked balls for the last decade you still built them up as the pinnacle of football making decisions. You don't have an honest or humble bone in your body.

Smith needs to sign with Miami today. Let FMT sweat for a few days over Manning.

He's following the Matt Leinart "Fuck it, i'll collect a paycheck and not have to do anything the whole season" line of thinking. Also, Jason Campbell didnt try for anything either, and he didn't look terrible last year before he got injured (in fact, the raiders probably would've made the playoffs with him over Palmer).

Hunh, so we signed Flynn? Interesting.

He's good. He will be a great fit in Seattle as long as they can put a few receivers around him. He has a great arm, is accurate and puts nice touch on his passes. He's not just a system QB like a lot of people are saying. He will play well in Seattle.

Please don't ask. I need a freaking drink now. I know how Knicks-GAF felt with the Dolan-Thomas relationship now. Jeff Ireland is the worst GM in football now.

Well we have some receivers in Rice, Baldwin, Lockette and Durham, plus Zach Miller and if they don't cut him BMW.

Now we need to get a MLBer...

Is there a worse year in Sports than the rollercoaster Dolphins fans are riding?

  • They start terribly, Suck for Luck Campaign begins
  • Matt Moore comes alive Frampton style and helps you guys out of the dumpster and into "we aren't getting a good pick" land
  • You start off as a frontrunner for Manning, fuck that up
  • Miss the RG3 and Matt Flynn trains
  • Now you get Alex Smith, Ryan Tannehill or Grandpa Weeden

Seattle finally has a good QB!

Hooray!

:jnc

I'll believe it when I see it.

He should be sending Detroit's secondary and Gunther Cunningham a fruit basket and a thank you card reading, "Thanks for the $10 million you guys got me!"

So who is left for Manning?

Tennessee, Denver, and San Francisco?

He's got to pick SF out of that group unless he's wooed by the idea of having a lifetime position with a team in Tennessee.

And just before all that happened, they whiffed massively and publicly on Harbaugh.

This. Blaming Manning for this circus is fucking idiotic. Because he is the best FA in NFL history he somehow shouldn't work to get the best possible deal and instead should decide early so that you find him more modest?

Get da fuck out.

I must say it's good to see people bitching about Manning taking his time, as I didn't expect it to happen. Now I can't shame people with my LeBron comparisons :(

Would MIA panic trade to #3 to get Tannehill? I have maintained for awhile the CLE will grab him at #4. When the fans have their torches and pitchforks, teams get silly

edit: As I said with Peyton, my opinion of him shifted when he did his attention whoring act during the SB week. He stole the spotlight from his brother ffs. Or has everyone forgot when he had his doctors start talking to the press? Or his "woe is me" story with Kravitz where he said Irsay was a big meanie who had fired everyone?

I'm OK with Jackson getting a big deal from PHI. He's a great talent but not a great WR.

Agreed. Had they broken the bank and handicapped themselves I'd be upset. But considering his production 3 out of his first 4 seasons, the way he scares defenses (opens up Maclin), and how dangerous he is as a punt returner I think he worth what they gave him.

And again I don't praise the Eagles FO for much but they do know how to manage the salary cap really well (maybe the best in the league) and never trap themselves with bad contracts. As the article mentions, even Vick's huge deal was basically a 2 year deal after which if they cut him, the salary cap hit is $250,000.00

Kellen Moore? Why not continue his trend of short QBs and draft Russell Wilson. Kellen Moore can't throw the ball more than 10 yards in the air

Don't follow college football whatsoever so I have no idea who he is. In fact not ashamed to admit I only know of the first round talent and even that only because you hear so much about these guys before the draft.

That was more of a throwaway comment and I hope to god they don't plan on drafting a QB for the future that early or in this upcoming draft for that matter. This coming draft has to be all about winning now, this season. No more planning and planning for the long term. This should be Reid's last chance.

Tannehil= Alex Smith 2.0

3/5/12: Tannehill is working his way back from a foot injury and couldn't work out at the Combine. However, he has his hand measure, and the number was alarmingly small. Tannehill's small hand size could lead to a lot of fumbles in the NFL. He is getting pushed higher into the first round because of the demand at the position. -Walter football
