I've said I don't like Manning's injury risk behind a line that now only has Chilo Rachal at Guard. I also said that Harbaugh likes mobile QBs. I wasn't sure it was an ideal fit system wise.

I honestly thought this was more of a means to let Smith test the FA waters and then have him turn around and sign the original contract with the Niners when he realizes that was the best deal he is going to get.
