They merged at 12 the last two seasons, although both had an extra episode because of redemption island and a person coming back into the game to make it 12. If I recall correctly the season before that was 12 as well? The one with Brenda and NaOnka and Fabio winning.

Season should start getting good now. Editors focused way too much on Colton to give anyone else a chance to show anything. Plus everyone was afraid to make a move against him since he had the idol. I think it's gonna be better from this point.
Kim/Chelsea/Troy/Jay are gonna run this whole thing.
I think they'll go after Christina et al., since Alicia would be a perfect F3 goat.
Twelve is now the standard merge in seasons starting with more than 16 contestants.

I thought I hated Colton but Alicia takes the cake. Colton is young and spoiled but Alicia has no fucking excuse. And to think she is a special ed teacher makes it even worse.
I just don't understand how you can know that you're on a nationally televised show and act the way Colton and Alicia acted towards Christine. Horrible people. I'm glad he's gone, but like others have said, I wish it had been the result of a blind-side. Chances are high that he'll be back some season.
Why does everyone hate Christina? Colten and Alicia were just bullying to her to no end like they were in elementary school. Even Tarzan was mean to her. She seems like a really nice, smart girl, yet everyone hates her. I DON'T GET IT!

Yeah it's definitely strange to see how terribly people behave knowing it's all going to be aired. Hardly the first time someone on the outside gets treated like shit, though. There's been several cases before and then the bullies score Fan Fav. in the end.
Still liking Jonas, doubt he's going to win this but he's played alright so far. Kept quiet during the Colton era and was ready to make moves now that he was gone. Hope he gets something done now, I'd like to see him make it far.

Am I the only one who thinks this is possibly the most boring season yet? It probably doesnt help that I went back and watched cook island over the last few days (it never aired here), but man. I think I'm possibly done with the show at this point, and I've watched them from the very first season...

Colton was a total douche...but I have to admit I cracked a smile at the way he chose to go out. Flaunting the idol on the stretcher was just awesome to watch.

I'm really interested to see how the merge plays out. Tribal swaps usually result in more interesting merges, and there are so many different allegiances that we should see some good blindsides. It's really anyone's game at this point.

The profit will come when he's cast as a returning player on an allstar season. He's somewhat apologetic in his post game interview with Rob C., but it's not like you can defend some of the things he said in game. The way he described things make it sound like he had a lot of control in the game even beyond what was shown though.

I really hope he doesn't come back. Not just because he wasn't a very interesting player (though he was certainly entertaining), but because he would get even more lavish treatment from the editors than previous returning players. Part of the reason he was featured so much is probably because he left so early, but there's no doubt the producers knew what kind of reactions he would draw. I also generally dislike the idea of returning players on principle.
I really hope the spoilers for the next boot aren't true. If so, it will mean another boring episode. And I'm still on the fence about Kim. The fact that her path to a win is so obvious and she's getting such positive treatment on the show makes me think she's a shock boot at some point. But who knows! I like her, I hope she goes far.

I always laughed at Jillian on Family Guy because I thought she was really a characterization of what a dumb blonde was, I never knew that there were REALLY girls who were THAT dumb. How can you go through school and life at that age and not know something like that? Really? Is the American school system really that terrible?

The Survivor editors have been pretty bad for years now. They play up a few people and leave others at the curb. Wouldn't surprise me if they're all young hires though considering they booted out a lot of the older people awhile back. My dad's friend used to film on the show in the earlier seasons. Don't know if he still has the job or not though.

Many ex-survivors agree that Jeff is way too involved in the game, he's not just the host but an actual player calling out others while he leaves some alone. No doubt he affects the tone at tribals by pointing out things no one was either thinking about or talking about. I know it's a tv-show first, but it's not nice how he fucks some people over. "Hey you why are you totally laughing back there where no one can see you? Here, have a target on your back.".
