Ugh, I haven't used shadow shaman since dota 1. How do you surround people with wards now? I tried the old way of just casting euls then dropping wards on the hero and the wards just stack like bowling pins

You can run Veno in any lane, he's a top tier support at the moment. I wouldn't play him like that in a pub though, you'd probably be better to go more of a semi-carry build.

So, for a low-level pub like me, what would you recommend? For a Veno build, and in general?

Whichever key you bound your hero to, you can double click it and hold it to follow. But if you mean like leagues, where you can lock it completely, no.

Ah, this is quite useful. I use free camera, but I occasionally do want to hold the camera centered to my hero for a bit.

Skill build:

1 - Gale
2 - Sting
3-5 - Wards
6 - Ultimate
7 - Wards

Then max out gale/sting

Item build:

Courier/wards/Ring of Basilius, Power Treads/Mana Boots, Drum of Endurance, Mekanism, Pipe of Insight, Vanguard, etc. Veno is pretty damn versatile so build around what your team needs.

And for the love of sweet baby Jesus, don't go Shadow Blade.

don't play veno against lycan though.

You're just going to feed massively.

Speaking of which, what are some good counters to lycan? I'm assuming stunners and cc'ers/escape ability heroes are best?

Maelk is the better stream to watch.

Also what is the best starting items for Lycan? Only able to play two games on test and tried both Basi and QB/RoP first and wasn't sure which worked best.

Both work, I like rob first myself

Actually now that I think about it, I actually go the RoP/QB build and grab clarities, and then build RoB asap in sideshop.

Neither do a lot of other proffessional streamers, but they're still not at 70% win, holy shit.

I don't know how the MM system scales with higher win% or with 5-man teams, so I can't comment. I guess it must be a different experience because based on my experiences, I would expect if I was playing with 4 other guys regularly that were good I'd expect to win 70% of my matches against the random pubbers I've played against too.

Playing with Milkman, Hyuna, Tswift and ( Gdeceiver / Haly ) so usually step above the normal pub group, our win % is probably like 56%. But this has a lot to do with not being able to win without picking good heroes usually, because opponents always pick top tier heroes, while we have stuff like Puck and Sniper.

Ironically I win more games when I solo queue rather then group queue

interesting. been a long time since I've seen a good Puck. dunno why.

LOL yeah we usually pick random heroes until Swift gets mad. And hey fuck you my Sniper is gdlike and I'll prove it today after the patch comes OUT

I know this sounds mean, but people with crappy connections shouldn't play this game. I'm tired of losing games because people disconnect all the time.

Players internet crashes, replace him with Dendi

Master tactics being played in this match.

Yeah, I was just thinking that...isn't it getting a bid fraudulent when you replace someone with Dendi.

I mean...if you are part of a team, you should not be able to replace someone on another team and help them advance. It's just stupid.

I was thinking the same thing when Synderen played for WW yesterday

It is allowed if they are not in the same group according to the rules. And also it's not that big of an advantage, I just saw Dendi make a few mistakes where his team didn't help etc. It's still a team game and teams don't play like navi plays.

Still Dendi has a lot of individual skill.

If your team is in the tournament, no matter the group, it should not be allowed, period.

But that's just my 2 cents, and they are worthless. :(

It's a shame chinese people can't really enjoy steam because all games need to have a chinese distributor.
I guess this means that dota2 in china might suffer from the same kind of censorship as WoW.

Say hello to Skeleton Evil King!

Really though, all the other team had to do was (I'm assuming here) just say no. "Can we replace this guy with Dendi?" - "lol no, he's got 10minutes or forfeit." If they blame the loss due to Dendi being on the other team, then they have no one to blame but themselves*.

*I would think if you have a rule where anyone, so long as their team isn't participating, can be a substitute, that substitute would have be to agreed upon by the other team.
