That wouldn't help much, you'd just get more variants of the amazing game Pokemon with awesome Gameplay that after the jump you must please notice that it only has Gallery Mode! :P

The Google Maps Quest prank got me in the mood. I know SE announced that DQ Monsters Wanted game for iOS/Android but I hope they eventually start porting the normal DQ games to mobile too like they do with FF.

(Edit before someone tries to be funny: by mobile I mean iOS/Android, I'm aware there are DQ games on some Japanese mobile phones)

Apple should ban that kind of developer from the store.

Even if they take out the application after people (or copyright holders) complains, he already made his money during those days that the game was on the store.

If they were banned and then forced to create another dev account and pay another 100$ to upload apps, we probably will save most of those scam apps.

$100 for creating another dev account is not a huge price to pay when the developers are probably raking in thousands from these scam apps based on popular IP like Pokemon. I don't think it would stop much of anything.

I would pay good money for Dragon Quest III iOS.

I have the second and wasn't a fan of the seemingly forced IAP and grind model, is the first one much better?

First one has just as much grinding. Only thing it has over IB2 is multiplayer (which IB2 should have later this year, I think)...and it's less buggy, lol.

For anyone who has neither game, 99 cents is a great price and recommended

Ghose Stories is awesome. Spent like three hours playing it last night it was ridiculous. Like I said before might help that I already knew how to play the app is pretty good about documentation but it's not quite handholdy. But in terms of gameplay it's fantastic so long as you are cool with soloing a co-op game (which I am) it's not async or anything (though you could play local with others though I wouldn't since I have the tabletop). On that same night, I should mention Elder Sign: Omens. Yahtzee-like co-op with Arkham theme. FI I have and have heard good things about the app but haven't played yet. Board game is solid basically a gateway simpler version of Pandemic.

Thanks man, I bought Ghost Stories. I will try it out solo for a bit (like I did with Titan HD) and then bug a couple friends to play a game once I feel like I can help explain how shit works. I think im going to hold off on Forbidden Island, Ive got that Operation Eradicate already, which is very similar, and despite its kinda shitty UI, it seems like a deeper and more interesting game.

I will look into this Elder Sign game too, might be something im interested in.

Fuck this iPad is taking all my money, haha. The 600 for the iPad itself was almost nothing at this point. 75 on leather smart cover, 30 on griffen back protector, 100 bucks on an AppleTV that I never use, and basically bought to try Real Racing 2 on my 50", and now ive spent close to 100 on Apps in less than a month, haha.

was looking at the devs blog and man, frowny face at his sales numbers

Fireball SE sales:

http://radiangames.com/blog/?p=1057

Sounds like they tried to get more income by increasing price after a review hit, hoping for a quick buck.

Another problem is that fireball SE sounds like and looks like any other ball game app on the store, you need to be really REALLY original to get more then impulse buys which I bet 90% of those are, most shoppers on the app store are going to look at your logo, maybe the first image which loads on the app page then back out to another app to look at.

Infinity Blade $0.99 sale is go. I haven't played either of the games, is there any point getting the first one, even though the sequel seems to be much better?

yeah, somebody else mentioned the same thing (jacking price to juice the TA review) ...
but he'd actually already announced the pricing plan nearly a week before the review
(http://radiangames.com/blog/?p=1038 );

so the two events were not quite related as first appears

Is it safe to use your Facebook login for Draw Something? Does it post things to your wall or anything like that? What are the benefits of that over using a random email account?

nothing really besides being able to easily play against... 'friends'?

Don't notice any spam on my wall.

I'd pay good money for SNES DQIII on any portable!

Anyone?

I don't know the port, but if it's anything like the original PC game, then it's awesome. No idea if it's a well-done port though, but the base is solid. From what I remember hearing in here though I think people said that it's good? :/

I love carcassone (played well over 1000 games on XBL) but it's such an exercise in frustration on the iphone playing online. I'll be playing and late in the game my opponent will seemingly run out of time, but turns out it was somehow me and I automatically lose the game.

I mean I am playing over wifi, and am all the way over in korea, but still :/

Async with the GAF crew is where it's at. I haven't played quickplay in months. For one it's 2P only which is pretty meh after awhile and for two I love async and Carc is pretty much the best async game ever.

no idea at all

There's a dedicated leaderboard for it. If you've never killed him, it's 0. Mine's at 350.

I keep meaning to get it but I keep going back to my XBLA copy instead. I think if I let myself start playing it async I'd never get any work done.

quickplay is async too though isn't it?

Where are the Carcassonne amateurs on iPad? After AstroLad gets done kicking my ass I'm going to need someone I can actually play with. (:

GameCenter nickname is [Slade]

Is Ticket To Ride on sale for $6.99/ what was the old price?

Is it easy to get into/learn? Compared to Carc?

I have that too. It's always been that price as far as I know, and doesn't go on sale. It's dead simple to learn.

Normal price, never been on sale. It is easier to learn than Carcassonne, good game.

Edit: Most of Gaf seems pretty solid at Carcassonne (at least the people I end up in games with) but with 3-5 player, enough luck is involved that you should be able to do well enou while learning.

iPhone version of TtR was $.99 (or $1.99, can't remember) not too long ago, that's when I bought it
Actually it went free for a day! That's when I got it.

Great game, but could have included more than one board. The rest are IAPs.

I just purchased 2 more $25 itunes giftcards for $40 at Wal-Mart putting me now at $200 in app store credit. I should be good for a while I hope...

There's so many people in the GAF Carc thread. I think I updated the OP list and most of those players are still active (well over a year later :P). I'd say 80% are regular but not hardcore players. Just off my list some of the newer players and also old-timers still kicking:
AirBrian
awesome animals (new)
bigwinnerx
Darkflight
Diesel Poineer (new I think)
eznark
Gamecocks625 (new)
mikeworks (new)
Proxii (new)

Leaving out at least 20 or so regular players but that's most of the new folks I can remember.

Thanks joined the games. I'm trying to drag dream into playing so we can get some MMA-GAF games going, hah!

Oh man, the new NSS update nerfed the slot machines. Good thing I farmed it while watching some tv today before updating. The new AI is so much better. They now properly chase lobs and just move so much better. Hats off to those guys

Yep, the update is magnificent (dump those annoying fucking girlfriends!)

Mrs elfinke is keen on adventure games and hidden object style games, and recently discovered Dark Meadow: The Pact. She didn't get far into it, citing it as being too scary (lol). So I've downloaded and started to give it a go and damn is it a decent looker! Another Unreal engined game with some nice textures and solid frame rate. I've not played it enough to know if it is actually a good game or not, but its first impressions on looks alone are good.

Ugh, of course as soon as I get close to enough free my apps points for either plants vs zombies HD or infinity blade 2 both are taken off the available gift apps. Pure BS.
