Just scored Advance Wars Dark Conflict for £1.98! @ Gamestation

Trailer looked pretty good. For £2, sure, why not

Save your money for somthing better. Rage was one my the biggest regrets i've had with regard to gaming purchases in the past few months or even years. Luckily I got a cheap key online.

Personally I paid a lot more than that and really enjoyed it - though played the 360 version

I played that game and thought that it was good, it's a fun first person shooter, and it runs perfectly well on the PlayStation 3. At that price is worth it.

Hmm... I'll play the demo again, see if I take to it more than the last time I tried it.

I believe it is this mission (video), and two multiplayer characters
It's not what the content is; I'm just aware that the preorder bonusses for Assassin's Creed II were bundled with one of the later DLCs; similarly the CE bonusses for Brotherhood were bundled with Da Vinci Disappearance; hence I was wondering if the same is true for Revelations.

what is gaf's take on this game? looks alright by the videos.

Check out the OT, the majority of users there are full of praise. :)

I don't think the codes work any more, which sucks as they said March 31st. I just tried mine and it spat out an error.

Aww, that sucks. It has been sitting in my mailbox for a while and i completely forgot about it. Should've posted it right when i received it, i never shop at gamestation anyway.

Is The Last Story likely to disappear from stores soon ?
It's still expensive (30£), so I'd like to wait before purchasing.

Rage - £9.85 [PS3]

I'm tempted but I'm not sure...

Edit: didn't realise it was the banned site. Just search ShopTo for Rage and it'll be there.

I paid full price and thought it was really pretty good. It's really old school but with a few modern tweaks, and the shooting feels really great. It's not perfect - the story is dodgy, and feels a bit clipped and cut in places, but in general it is more than worth a tenner.

How long until Game/Gamestation will sell their stock for super cheap? I've heard of some local deals but most of the things on the sites are still high priced.

Oh, it was all apocalyptic the last time I visited the GAME thread. Good for them, I guess.

Not really "good", no... the Game Group lost 277 stores and over 2000 jobs, and RBS did some dodgy dealing to ensure that RBS would end up with the good bits. They're still in administration at the moment, last I heard, so it's too soon to say they're out of trouble yet.

Yeah, totally: I just wouldn't imagine there'll be a fire sale of stock in case they maintain trading as per.

I should really take this to the GAME thread but whatever...

Remember that GAME owed RBS and the other banks £100 million (though some finger pointing has to be put to how they were allowed to get into such debt ala, subprime). Also no matter who bought it and when they would have closed a similar amount of stores, don't come under some illusion that MCVs had a rumor that RBS blocking the OP Capita bid (I assuming this is the "dodgy dealing") would have saved all the unnecessary stores from closing (RBS may well have blocked the bid because they couldn't see how it would get their money back, also it comes on the back of OP Capita firing 1000 people from Comet). As bad as it is administration is you can't question its cost-effectiveness as 2000 staff don't get redundancy (thats assuming all of them had worked more than 2 years) and you don't have waste massive amounts of money making the company a reasonable size (as you just close the stores rather than have to withdraw from the leases). Whoever does own GAME Group in the end will have to spend a lot to get it into shape and into the 21 century.

That said kept the good bits? Pricewaterhousecoopers closed the stores in an arbitrary fashion (might have been based off profitability 18 months ago or current profitability, heck it could have been the dreaded KPIs) and many locations lost experienced staff only for stores with relatively green staff to remain open. Also they still managed to have a few towns with GAME and Gamestation still next to each other (which I thought the closures were mainly about eliminating) while other places are left with nothing.

I agree the whole going into administration, keeping the staff in the dark until the phone call of "you're closed, spend the rest of this week delivering the store to *nearest location*, we're also going to keep you in the dark that your manager will be given £500 for going this on time and having a clean store" was bad but given how bad an employer they were to their staff before this it is not a huge shock.

I say it depends on how many regular editions had to be ordered to get limited editions as the first few weeks of sale the limited edition was outselling the regular.

Also, NOE did a new piece of marketing promoting the game so I hope that'll keep it on shelves for a while longer.

If the price does drop I doubt it'll head below £20.

Any good deals on ME3 for the PC, limited edition or otherwise?
That is insane.
I kinda maybe (not really) understand that price here in (Estonian) retail shops, since they have to import everything (god knows for what price) and make some profit.
But digitally, straight from Microsoft... Horrible!
Estonian? High-five, bro!

I was finally about to get saints row from Shopto but noticed its a European copy not tradable in the uk, may wait to see if anywhere else drops it

I didn't even realise Shopto sold imports

25£ shipping included would be fine.

Okay, back to more real deals. Put pitchforks down now, please

Blades of Time (PS3/360) - £21.95 @ Zavvi

I thought the demo was decent. Seems like an okay to middling game without any hype. Will probably drop lower though - or perhaps drop of the face of the earth.
