What is keeping you from getting a 360?

This is just an honest question. IMO, the 360 is totally worth it right now so I'm just curious as to why you might be waiting it out.

So what has to happen to get you to get a 360?

Is it a lack of Japanese support? Price? Faulty Hardware? Bias against U.S machines? Halo 3 not being out?
 
I already have one, but the 360 is in the middle of a serious dry spell. This wouldn't be a problem if XBLA weren't useless.
 
Lumines' impending release on XBLA sold me one last week. Right now I'm basically just waiting on Gears of War; there aren't too many games that are screaming BUY ME RIGHT NOW. Although I eventually plan on getting used copies of Tomb Raider, Oblivion and maybe Table Tennis.

So basically it's just me, Ridge Racer, and Hexic right now.

Are you a fan of online gaming? I'd say that for online, the first 6 months of the 360 were better than months 13-18 of Xbox 1. I'd be interested in knowing if anybody who likes online console gaming is disappointed with the 360.
 
I have it but it seems to follow the same loop as the original machine when it comes to games.

Some cool western games near X-mas.
A few latecomer goodies in spring.

$649.99AU Hardware and $119.95AU games. The initial outlay for a 360 is too much at the moment, I can afford one, I just got to spend over $1k get all I want for it.

Plus I only got a Xbox 1 at the start of the year, still having fun with that.
 
Ok so it seems people don't like the price. Is it safe to say all of you will get one at the first price drop? second? Third? Also, does it mean you won't be getting a PS3 for a while?
 
Microsoft. Price. Halo 3.(Btter be a return to the first games mechanics becuase if its anything like that piece of crap Halo 2 I'll just pass on the 360 alltogether)
 
PS3 has way more seemingly quality games in the pipeline, so I MIGHT be willing to get it if it were $399. But $600? **** off, PS3. I'll get a PS3 in 2013.
 
- MS dropping Xbox1 support forshadows how MS would drop the 360 in 3 or 4 years from now

-weak 3rd Party JP support, I need my 3rd party JP games

- the Librairy does not pull me in,, I walk into the store, walk passed the shelves, doesn't pull me in

Those of you that complain about games: What about when Halo 3, GTA4, Lost Planet, Dead Rising, Forza 2, Viva Pinata, Gears of War, DOA Xtreme 2, Blue Dragon, and others come out? Is that not a lineup worth your money?

Halo 3 - of course
GTA4 - superior version on PS3
Lost Planet - :thumbsup:
Dead Rising - who knows!
Forza 2 - **** yeah
Viva Pinata - disgusting animal crossing shit
Gears of War - **** yeah
DOAX2 - do i look like a pathetic japanese otaku to you?
Blue Dragon - LOL
 
Cant wait to see this thread posted for ps3 when IT launches...gosh, i wonder how many will hold off on that one. Luckily for me, i have money already set aside for ps3..

It's a lineup worth the money, but a lot of people probably have their hearts set on PS3s this holiday season, regardless of lineup.
 
I had one and sold it due to lack of games... yes, I know the system was young at the time, and maybe I should've waited for Oblivion and Ghost Recon, but both of those are on PC and my new gaming PC will be in my dirty paws on Monday. I want one right now, sure, but I don't exactly regret selling it either. I'll get one after the price drops, and I'll certainly have one long before I have a PS3.

While the price is one component for me, I don't mind paying $500-600 for the PS# because it will be my primary system and I know that it will last me a good 6 years.In the case of the 360 I don't want to spend $400 for a secondary system.

The "no more backwards compatibility" was the second.

So it's 0-2! Haven't decided yet.
 
Ok. This is understandable, but is it safe to say that you would get one eventually? With the pricedrops and more games?

TFLO is coming to 360 and they withdrew that statement and are still advancing on the BC front.
 
The games I played on the original Xbox weren't the shooters, fighters and combat-racers I see now. They were the RPGs (Fable, Jade Empire, KOTOR), the action games (Ninja Gaiden, Otogi, Panzer Dragoon Orta), and traditional racers (Forza, PGR). Of those, all I really see on the 360 is PGR. I am not going to pay $460 just to play PGR again when I paid $10 for a new copy of PGR2 not long ago.

Guess you won't get a PS3 either? And they look fine on sdtvs. HD is the way of the future. You better get used to it.
