He's used as an anti-carry, and he does this incredibly well because he can take the enemy carry out of the fight for over 5 seconds and then plague them with massive miss chance (while doing insane damage himself). General item build to shoot for is phase, soul ring, magic wand, blink dagger, and drums of endurance, with scepter as luxury. Remember his earth panda carries all auras. If you're still farming after that and the game is still going on, shoot towards either a Necrobook if you have the micro skillz or Shiva's Guard otherwise.

Thanks for the answer :)

Small Tip: The Ethereal Form from Ghost Scepter and Ethereal Blade is purged if you teleport. So if you are using it on your self, you can't escape by TPing. But if an enemy uses on you, you can purge the Etheral Form by using a TP scroll (You will still have the other slow on you though)

Note though that Pugna's Decrepify is not purged this way, though I don't know if that is a bug or not.

On a side note, I found a link to that old blog saying things like Icefrog was contracted by S2, and the project was toxic for Valve. And knowing what I know now, in the first few line this thing strikes out. "I cannot say for sure, but I CAN say that none of the middle management or lower knew ANYTHING about his involvement with other game companies"

The thing is though, Valve has no actual Management system.

I've been playing LoL for a year now (first game in this genre I've ever touched), and just started DOTA 2...

What the fuck. I'm so lost, so confused. Everything feels so different. The HUD is enormous to me, too. I really want to get into it, but I think LoL's just ingrained so much into me that I'm getting frustrated at almost everything. Abilities are much more powerful, the way health/mana regenerates, ranged attacks being WAY longer, denying, giant map, store interface, couriers, statistics...

It's overwhelming. :( HALP.

It's a different game and you have to get accustomed to Dota's quirks. I'd also suggest bot matches to learn the most basic fundamentals and get accustomed to the interface. Lich is the most beginner friendly hero so play him until you feel confident enough to branch out.

Well, what was it like when you were first playing LoL?

Everyone starts somewhere. I suppose I was a bit fortunate that when I started playing there was only 50ish heroes, now there's close to 70. I think learning the game is worth it though. If you're looking for a more deeper, more complex game I say its worth the investment. I like all the nuances there are to dota so I've made the switch completely. Feels like I learn something new everyday.

Oh wow, looks like I was updated to member today.

Yep no problem.

Also kagete most pleasant gaffer to play dota with confirmed

I know it is tough coming from another game but you just need to stick with it and eventually you will pick it up. I originally played DOTA and i was in love, eventually HON came around and it just felt better mostly because of all the features. Now i am back to DOTA 2 and it just feels really weird in comparison. The pace of the game just feels slower and not as fluid. Going to stick with it till I am comfortable with it again and i can get HON out of my system trust me it will happen with enough game play.

Hey guys,

does anyone know how to change the size of the net_graph? its pretty huge in the bottom right corner. I saw someone who had the netgraph pretty small right next to the hero pictures on the top of the screen but i cant find out how to rezize it. I play at 1280x720.

These helped my friends making the switch. The whole Dota2-subreddit are pretty helpful to new players, elitists comments are just downvoted to hell. Will probably get more help there.

Anywho, so like 500 games into DotA2 and I still miss the Hold-Position function of HoN immensely. Does anyone know a console command that will make H hold my attacks too?

And don't say disable Auto-Attack, not the same.

Just got into the beta!!

Damn this game is soo much fun, but I think I am raging abit to much, Getting same feeder teammates for 3 games in a row sure we won once but seeing him feeding like that, really pushed some buttons.

Also the HUD is ginormous, I keep accidently clicking on the minimap when I am trying to run away and it goes to the enemies and I die :(..

Crystal Maiden suck!
Enchantress & Mirana for life!

Honestly I feel the Dire has a much better team. CW guarantees Jakiro lands his spells, most notably his absurdly powerful ultimate. Weaver, Clinkz, and DP are hard to kill carry-types. They can even push effectively with Jakiro, DP, Clinkz.

Radiant have nothing, some mediocre burst damage and a bunch of very EXP-dependent heroes.

that's how I see it too.

well it's 22 - 5 for Dire, so yeah, they got better heroes indeed.

Nice. I appreciate the kind gesture..

This reverse picks tournament has a lot of potential but synd's draft was very poor and the game isn't that fun to watch. Hope the next one is better.

I will consider this tournament a total victory if I see a Barathrum carry out of control. Hes so fun to watch.

Also Basher/MoM DP is amazing.

Also, is there a NeoGaf channel in DotA2? I would be down for some games with you guys tonight if people are around.
