Halo 4 - November 6, 2012.

The annoying thing about the armor is that it's just a flat single shade of color. Like someone just poured a can of paint on each guy. It's a hop and skip away from cell shading.

ya it looks bad but it seems like they do it for competitive reasons. the orange guy looks correct like an orange safety cone hes lit/shaded well.

I agree. I don't like how the color is uniform across the armor plating and the under suit, it gives it the look of a really cheap action figure. That's why it looks weird to me, but I think additional color customization would be an unlock.

Getting shot well sprinting slows you down, that's amazing.

Also "random" weapon drops sound less terrible now since they tell you whats going to drop and where.

They are slayer objectives. Your objective is to secure the power weapon and use it against the opposing team.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but this seems likely to be the same exact day the next call of duty releases.
The last 4 call of duties have all released on tuesday, the second week of the month. And November 6th is tuesday, the second week of the month.

Black Ops is probably gonna be Nov.13 #TheEggmanPredicts

Only bothered with multiplayer through the Halo 3 and Reach beta. I hope they can push the campaign further than Bungie managed, after the first game.

No Bungie is exactly why I'm excited. Sans ODST, they haven't made a good game since Halo 2.

1) You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I assume you're aware that you're in the minority. Game reviews, sales, and general fan response all strongly disagree with you.

2) You liked ODST but not Halo 3? They're the same base game! ODST was much better, sure, but I don't see how you can say ODST is "good" but Halo 3 isn't...

The stable build we gave to RvB so they could build the piece had some weird lighting and shadow issues. That's pretty typical for unexpected eventualities.

Other than its almost a completely different team of people.

yes different people but the same overall. game looks and feels like a iteration of reach and looks like it could have been bungie that made this. not saying its bad makes sense they dont want to alienate their player base but a new team/studio i personally and a few others wanted something drastically different.

well naturalty it wouldnt be a final build but shading irregularities wont drastically change the visuals imo. most ppl are complaining about the art direction of the multiplayer suits.

anyways really looking foward to your guys showing on conan later today.

I did notice that the Halo 4 Spartans seemed a little less animated than the Reach/halo3 counterparts. Can we chalk that up to early build, or should we pick at Rooster teeth?

Will it have Halo Dance mode?
Yes

With no Bungie I'm having a hard time getting excited.

Bungie was burned out and made some awful decisions with Reach.

Random level selection in online campaign co-op? Really? I don't know if they fixed that, but that was an absurd decision.

Only thing bumming me out so far is that it's built on the Reach engine. Reach felt way too much like deja vu. I want a fresh, new experience or close to it, else no day one.

They have had a very good engine worker on Corrinne Yu working on the project for ages, it should be a very big improvement.

At one point, people have to realize that it is still on the 360 and not next gen. The console is what, 5-6 years old...Theres only so much improvement that can be done visually.

Okay, it's official. My attention to detail has thrown me over the edge. I can't stand the part of the Cheif's and Spartan IV's helments with the 4/5 holes. Right where the mouth would be. It's making me crazy.

Figured as much, was it an older build?

Actually it was newer, but things get turned off, disabled, held, reimplemented, etc. Just because a build is newer doesn't mean MORE stuff is functional. Sometimes you grab a build out of curiosity only to discover the game doesn't launch because it was a UI test. RvB thing happened without much notice so we didn't have time to craft one with everything turned on, then the first one we gave them had a weird shadow bug that was more distracting than the dim light. Probably why they picked the spots they picked, in fact.

I feel the exact oppisite because to me Halo 2 was the worst games they made but both Halo 3 and Reach are great games.

Halo 4 will probably be good but I don't have any expectations.

Interesting, thanks for the explanation. Can't wait to see the full spectacle with it in motion. :P
