You mean Sutil?

So instead of attending, Bernie will be in London watching the marathon? When was the last time Bernie missed a race?

Edit: I think this is just a rumour for now.

Smart guy... because if I was a protester I'd go for him above anyone else.

Because you think that's a good way to get your message across? If the protesters want to be taken seriously, they would be wise not to attack any member of the F1 community.

In fact, I'd say anybody who does something like that is no longer a protester – they then become a terrorist.

On Sky Sports at the chinese GP one of the pit lane reports asked bernie if he was going to Bahrain & he replied with 'What a stupid question!'

So he didnt actually say if he was or not :P

Who said that was your gif? According to the post you quoted, I posted that gif.
Of course you posted it, because the other picture never happened. I went back in time and convinced Mark to give up on F1, or he'd always be known as mediocre #2 driver. He quit Jaguar immediately and pursued a career as cyclist.

So word on twitter is apparently the Force India Mechanics bus was stopped by a road block & few fire bombs landed very near them.
But they werent travelling with any obvious F1 ID, so they were not being specifically targeted (not that makes it much better)

Should there be a separate thread on the Bahrain issue? Where the general populace of GAF can discuss the matter so we can concentrate on the race itself.

It's obviously going to spark up a lot of controversy and is best served in its own thread.

F1 will truly be in the world-wide spotlight this weekend in a manner which it hasn't been in for a very long time.

I was thinking the same thing on my way to work this morning for some reason. I would make a rubbish first post though, so some one else can take the honours.

Nah, if someone starts posting political crap in here again, I'm just posting this:

Problem solved. Either the political talk stops or we get more Webber. Win/win.

For once I disagree with you. I would like a separate thread for the political issue that's in direct relation to the sport. I rather keep this one for purely F1 as a sport. And for Mark Webber.

Well, I guess I meant that it should be kept in it's own thread so that if it does come up, I can post that pic. So that was just a misplaced "nah". Replace it with "Yeah" and we're golden.

Australians, get PISSED:
Fans angry as ONE bumps Formula One to TEN
Motorsports fans are fuming with TEN Network over its plans to switch Formula One coverage from ONE to TEN, losing both High Definition and in some cases, Live broadcasts.

From this Sunday night, F1 screens on TEN from 9:30pm instead of on ONE. Bizarrely, the Qualifying Race is Live in all markets on ONE on Saturday, but not the big race.

This results in the coverage airing in Standard Definition and it means viewers in South Australia and Western Australia -including Perth viewers following local lad Daniel Ricciardo- will be unable to see it Live as they have enjoyed on ONE.

The switcheroo comes despite the network having regularly plugged the HD broadcasts on ONE.
FYI: ONE is the "sports" channel (well, was exclusively sports, now it's mostly sports and shitty, testosterone-filled movies) and Ten is the regular free-to-air channel.

Thank fuck I have several options available to me now. Because I'd be even more pissed.

Same.

Who wants to make it?

I can always do it but I'm not sure what I'd put in the OP.

Fuuuu enjoyed ONE because it was one of the few channels to have HD
You do have options, but they will cost money. VPN, pretty cheap for a good amount of data and would last you. iPlayer, but only for BBC-covered broadcasts. A pay (possibly not legal) streaming site but not fully HD (but still good enough, compared to the alternative).

Considering that this is the first time EVER there have been two Australians in the Formula 1, it's a retarded decision.

That has got to be the stupidest fucking decision they have made in a while. And they have made some whoppers.

"He added: "I think it's unfortunate. It's an issue of timing. It could happen in any place in the world really, getting caught up in a riot or a fight or anything.""

Whilst this is true to a degree, it's not like this was one freak incident. It's happening all over the country.

I know you can cite somewhere like Brazil as a dangerous place where F1 goes every year, but even so, that's "just" a country with a high risk of crime. This is a country that's in absolute chaos.

So disingenuous to pull the "it could happen anywhere" card.

Do GQ try to make people look like twats?

Wrong thread, you crap Gaf champ.

This is the F1 thread. I see no reason why the discussion shouldn't go in here.

I don't like the technical talk of rear wings being 2mm wider this year but I don't banish it to another thread.

F1: Rumours fly after Sauber sponsor 'teaser'

...

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport relayed paddock rumours hinting that the deal could be with AT-T, the American multinational who last year pulled its title sponsorship of the then-struggling Williams team.

Another paddock whisper is that Sauber's new deal could be with the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, to promote his English premier league club Chelsea.

I dont understand why they are teasing us rather than just saying it?
But surely it has to be some one big considering all the fuss there has been about it? right?

Marketing for the sponsor. It's working.

Honestly, I really couldn't give two shits. The only time I would give a shit about sponsor-related news is if HRT got one.

I'm sure we can get 100 bucks together to get the GAF logo on their car.

I must be the only one who couldn't give a flying fuck about the new sponsor. Not even moderately interested. :)

Edit - Oh no, Shanenus has my back. \o/

Filthy Webber fan that he is.
