Why? GOW could come out by the end of the year, no reason that should stop at least a mention of the PS4.

God of War was announced at E3 2008, it came out in 2010.

You could make the analogs a light blue, like the U box thing in the Wii U logo except, in your mock up, it's grey. Grey is the best choice for controls sticks though. My nunchuck's white stick has slowly turned yellowish :/

Ok, now that E3 is over for another year and we know all about the Wii U, I'm honestly wondering why Nintendo even bothered becoz the God of War 4 graphics are clearly superior to Super Mario 4. I mean, I'm not a troll or anything I'm just saying that clearly if nintendo were serious about attracting the hardcore like they say there were they could of done more than show that game. I guess those rumors about the wiiwoo being less powerful then the ps360 were true and its a shame becoz i really liked playing Mario when i was a kid.

Gaming has lost it's mind.

Curious, does Nintendo have any policies against sexual content that would stop games like GTA 5 and Witcher 2 coming to Wii U?

They have borderline child pornography on their consoles so I doubt it.

Honestly I think the rumors have done a ton of damage.

As someone who works in marketing, I'll tell you, Nintendo has their hands full with the hardcore gamer's perception of the Wii brand.

Those rumors did a one-two punch.

The first punch was saying the console is underpowered.

The second punch was the rumor saying it will be $300 or above.

It doesn't matter if those rumors are true or not. What matters is those rumors spread like wildfire. They went everywhere. IGN, Gamespot, Forbes, Time Magazine's website, Destructoid, Slashgear, Kotaku, Develop-online, gamesindustry, G4TV.com, etc.

And now there is a perception being built that Nintendo is going to release cheap slightly above current hardware at a big profit to please investors.

Is it fair that Nintendo and Wii U are receiving this perception? No.

And it will be hard for Nintendo to fix this perception. Last E3, people couldn't tell whether Xbox 360 footage looked better than Xbox 360 footage when Wii U was revealed. You have people actually arguing that the Zelda tech demo and bird demo aren't better than 360 graphics. Do I agree with that? No.

But the point is, Nintendo needs to come out swinging on amazing games because no matter what the graphics look like, they won't persuade the hardcore gamers on graphics. They've been brainwashed by the media that Nintendo is cheap. It's an impossible task to reverse the brainwashing in just one E3.

Yeah it just seems insane to not counter these earlier. The negative press (Even though it's bullshit) will cement in people's mind that it's sub-par. When it comes out people's then predetermined negative view will look for proof that it's subpar and they'll be able to find something I'm sure.

I would have thought Nintendo would have at least come out and said "No it's not, we've got some great hardware blah blah" at least to soften the effect of the negative press.

People seem to ignore when other companies go "casual". Take the new Multiplayer Alarm Clock game on the Vita. If Nintendo had dared to announce anything as "casual" and "kiddy" as that for the 3DS, they'd be slaughtered by the gaming media. Just look at it...

By the way, I chanced upon a copy of "Captain N: The Game Master". Upon watching the first minute or so, I think I would strongly consider day one-ing a Wii U if it came packaged with a game featuring the incredibly wacko versions of game characters that were in that probably-awful cartoon (I liked it a long time ago, but I get this… feeling that it isn't as mindblowingly amazing as I remember).

I think the rumor about the introduction of co-op and the story revolving around the escape out of the underworld (again) included a September release date, if I'm not mistaken the rumor even included the title that now turned out to be true.

Seeing as Sony doesn't seem to have any other big blockbuster type games lined up for the second half of the year (unless TLOU comes out) I wouldn't be surprised if it does come out this year, maybe not as early as September, but by the end of the year.

I think Nintendo is a very strong company right now they can get the 3rd Party exclusives needed if 3DS proves anything. Launch of WiiU may just be as strong as any launch but by Holiday 2013 is the time we should be expecting stronger first party software
