Giant Bombcast - | 05-01-2012 |

I saw a gif of Red Kratos killing Blue Kratos. I think PvE is a thing, yes, but there must definitely be some form of player combat. Maybe it's "KILL MORE EVIL SHIT THAN BLUE TEAM" and you can fuck over the other players on the way by murdering them. I dunno.

Maybe I should read the thread again. :lol

There's no blue Kratos or red Kratos in the game. You're playing different characters in multiplayer.

They covered both.

Shitted on both in their quick looks too.

Binary domain doesn't look like it's in the same realm as either of them. It actually looks fun. :P

It IS fun. I'm disappointed they didn't review it or have the other guys play it. It's the Saints Row 3-like surprise of 2012 for me.

It blows my mind that none of the five guys watched a single bit of the PS battle game footage before recording.

Jeff gave Brink a 2/5?
On why Brink devs and other devs are going free to play. Brink was a major critical flop and assumed to be a commercial flop too.So they went free 2 play to make their money back.
Obsidian devs didn't get their royalties from Bethesda for working on New Vegas because their metacritic score was 84 and had to be 85 and above.
Bethesda published both Brink and New Vegas.
Giantbomb gave Brink two stars.

Thanks! I knew about Brink flopping but not about the review score and the details behind them going F2P.

What about brad commenting on the specific backgrounds that are shown in the video?

He was going by screenshots from the sound of it. He was trying to figure out exactly what was going on in the shots, when it's much more apparent in the video.

It looks like Smash Bros. Brawl, so no it doesn't look shit.

Unless you don't like Smash Bros.. In which case, you're a god damn monster

Smash Bros. is a pretty bad game but the Nintendo charm is enough to keep me interested for a bit of mulitplayer.

Sony haven't captured that from what I've seen, so it just has the shit without the charm.

It's on PS3. They're not particularly interested. When discussing the six characters (or eight characters according to Jeff), Patrick's nonsense comment of "but nobody knows who these characters are" basically sums up the their disinterest. It's a shame but, as we know, they're primarily Xbox guys.

What did they talk about in Asura's Wrath? I finished the game but haven't unlock the hidden chapter and I only did the first 2 dlc chapters and not the big one yet. I don't want to spoil anything because the game is really great.

Ryan mentions that he has beaten the DLC with the true ending, but Brad hasn't played that DLC yet and he made sure nothing got spoiled. I guess Brad kinda spoiled something about the ending of the main game, though.

You're a pretty bad game.

(but yeah they didn't seem be informed. those bars on the bottom are super bars not health bars, and the point scoring mechanics work differently than smash bros.; apparently you need to use supers to KO people, not beat them up until you can get a ring out like in ssb)

I've grown to accept that they're not exactly rigorous journalists with crazy (or indeed any) standards. Just close your eyes and let the speculation wash over you...

Yeah, it's hard for me to mind that they're not too informed when it doesn't really seem like their type of game anyway, and their discussion about PSX tech demo dinosaurs and playable Jack Tretton was so fun. (Best suggestion: "the wind from Flower")

As a longtime dweller in the Windy City, Patrick's views on deep-dish pizza does not at all reflect the tastes or opinions of Chicago-ans.

Patrick I agree with you on Witcher 2's inverse difficulty curve but there was a fight in Act 3, if you do a certain quest, if you do a certain choice, that may KICK YOUR ASS as it did mine. I must have tried 20 times before I just gave up on that quest altogether. Stay frosty.

Seconding this. Deep dish is basically lasagna? Psshaw. Find me deep dish pizza with any sort of pasta in it. It's just pizza that goes crust->cheese->sauce instead of crust->sauce->cheese with way more sauce and cheese than normal.
Dude lived in the suburbs, what do you expect?

Don't you put this on the suburbs.

Actually we just like stuff that's good.

You can't deny the bombcasts rampant favoritism of Xbox versions of games and the system over the PS3. Even though many of the 360 versions of games are inferior compared to the PS3 or PC versions.

As they've said repeatedly, they mostly get sent 360 versions of games by publishers. Naturally they use those copies to play through the games, record quick looks, etc.

Lol

So that makes it okay to snub Sony all the time because they don't get the free versions of games for that console?

Pretty much. In almost every case, Skyrim notwithstanding, the differences are sodding minute.

This isn't some kind of representative democracy where every platform needs its say.

Is there a reason why Brad seems to have contempt for Dust 514 being exclusive? That just seemed weird.

Because the internet-connected PC based would be much larger and have a greater inherent connection to EVE, I would suspect. Not to mention the mentality differences between PS3 gamers and PC gamers.

Their whole argument is that Sony characters have less public recognition/importance than Nintendo's characters.

Which is so obviously true that I'm embarrassed people are playing the "they just don't care about Sony stuff" card.

Don't worry, they never get into any kind of specifics on it because of Brad not having played it yet. All you hear on it at all is "It's even crazier than anything else in the game" and "it's a real conclusion to the story."
No specifics at all.

Yeah, because I'm sure the number of people you could approach on a random street and ask to identify Kratos/Sweet Tooth/Parappa are equal to the number of people that could identify Mario or Donkey Kong. Come on, seriously?

this new sony-battle-thing is going to make these threads intolerable. christ.

This just another tick on a long list of things. It was more like "of course you guys don't care about this thing."
