I'm so glad I didn't bet. 4 weeks ago I was figuring Avengers for an uder-performer. Now I am a true believer. Reviews and WOM are all strong, and that will make or break a movie like this.

This avatar betting shit is hilarious. I can't wait to see the fallout from this. Lulz.

Is it tomorrow yet? lol

For point of reference I left right when
Cap and Iron Man capture Loki

3D wasn't awful, but it wasn't great, and I'm happy I'm not paying to see it in 3D.

Best nothing I've ever spent for a movie!

It's fucking amazing so far.

I missed it, but why did you leave? And if you left at that point, you haven't seen a damn thing yet from the movie. Glad you loved what you did see though.

Just got back, was not ready for DAT HULK swag!

So many good one liners
Thor: Loki is my brother
Widow: Your brother just killed 60 people
Thor: Step brother

LOL

Captain America was awesome as well.

Unless they changed the dialogue I think
Thor said "He's adopted"

If you say so, bro.

I suspect now that you've calmed down, you're trying to spin it as sarcasm. It's cool though, tracking is serious business when one is as invested as you are.

No offense man, but I can't take you seriously when it comes to box office numbers. You made a bet that the Avengers won't surpass $250m.

He did. And his delivery sold it.

Also, I loved the chemistry with Stark and Banner. Give me a buddy road movie of Stark and Banner travelling the world and righting wrongs. And in between action scenes just have them doing science experiments while Stark provokes Banner. Movie of the forever.

Quick question! So what's the order of the future Marvel movie releases? What can we expect to see first?

Also, if we ever get an Avengers 2 and Whedon is not behind it, color me disappointed as hell.

I have to say perhaps the funniest thing nobody saw happened after the post-post credits scene.

Avengers assemble for schwarma!

Like I said exteneded free preview.

I did get to see a lot of great fx for vehicles and location and
location destruction

Really love the little detail and nooks and crannies. Reminded me of what Eiji Tsburaya would do with his models.

Seriously, you have seen almost nothing compared to the awesomeness that comes after that. Hell, the scene after that is great, but the finale in the city. Damn...

Dat Hulk...

Next year will be Iron Man 3 followed by Thor 2, and then Captain America 2 in 2014. Those are the confirmed ones. They will be confirming the second 2014 film in the coming months I believe.

I admit it wasn't my finest moment, but the signs were there for it not doing all that well. Somewhat poor reception to the last few movies, the laughable leaked script, lack of advertising, the cheap feel and look of the movie in select clips, etc.

The whole project looked like one big clusterfuck. They pulled it off though, so credit where it's due.

Kudos, Marvel. Kudos.

Ready to to watch this movie tonight
I am gonna rock my new official avengers t-shirt limited edition.

I need this.

Don't want to make your wait longer but you have so much more awesome in store for you're viewing pleasure.

I understand what you are saying, but even if the Avengers was mediocre it would still break $250. Iron Man 2 was really mediocre and still manages that. There is enough hype for it to break that regardless if it was good or bad.

Leave him alone, I guess he'll dudebroski and act cool when really he was the one close to having a meltdown here.

LOL.

See, taking a few deep breaths can avert even the most epic of meltdowns. In future, I recommend not being as invested in certain things. Never ends well.

IM2 was coming off the very well received IM1, so that doing well wasn't a surprise. This was coming off three average movies which didn't exactly do all that well at the BO. I based my prediction on that, obviously it was wrong...

Thanks. I actually wasn't sure since I saw it while I was in the Phillippines.

A Hulk/IronMan movie would mean they'd have to duke it out as well. Would love to see the MCU version of the HulkBuster Armor.

Saw it last night.
Unbelievably good. The first half is slow but necessary but when the second half kicks in you will have to pull your balls out of your stomach.

Hulk though is the big draw. He chews up every damn scene he is in. More than anything this movie makes me want to see another movie with just Hulk and Red Hulk tearing the world apart.

You guys did good Xia the effects were unbelievable and despite my earlier misgivings this is definitely the best Hulk yet.

Nope. Iron Man vs Hulk would own everything! HULKBUSTER!!!!

Hell yes!

Warner can't even produce a good Superman or Green Lantern movie, and they can't get Wonder Woman or Flash off the ground at all, and you actually want them to make a Justice League movie? Really? Lol.

Damn. They changed the date from 2014 to TBD. I think a good WW movie would draw both male and female audience. Stupid WB.

I didn't get to see it because apparently US people are more valuable to the film makers than the international audience and deserve an extra bonus scene, even though I watched this damn movie twice already and loved it.

I don't think WB is stupid, just very incompetent with regards to how they're handling DC stuff. Outside of Nolan's Batman movies they've screwed everything up. They really need better producers to realize their vision.

I know! And then we get to see more Ruffalo and RDJ stuff together. Those two worked so well together in the movie.

Loved how no one was responding to Stark's talking until Banner chimed in and then Stark was happy to find another brain in the group.

There's so much good material they can do with such a story too. Banner could get concerned about some new technology Stark is trying to push, believing it is dangerous. He tries to reason with Tony, things go south, he tries to take things into his own hands to stop him and goes all Hulk. Iron Man fights back and pisses him off further, he loses control and starts wrecking the city, and Stark has to take more extreme measures to stop the beast.

COME ON MARVEL!!!

Okay. I'm done with the fanfic. :)

US people are so valuable to the film makers that they made us wait a week after the rest of the planet had seen it.

Okay, so saw it at midnight last night at the Times Square AMC, 2D screening. They had 22 screens of it for midnight, and one 3 AM IMAX. All of the 15 2D screenings were sold out when we stopped there to pick up our tickets at 4 PM. 2 of the 3D screens were at that time. Fast forward to 9 PM and all but 2 of the 3D screens are completely sold out, and I'm sure those sold out in the interim 3 hours.

There was a guy in an Iron Man armor costume who really hammed it up in the theater, the audience loved it. Lots of nerdery all around, and the audience was really cool.

Let's see...trailers were People Like Us, End of Watch and Battleship (huge chorus of boos), Dark Knight Rises (Entire theater shushed everyone and just basked in it), Amazing Spider-man (Similar deal), Frankenweenie (lots of "wtf?"), Prometheus (lots of excited cheers and shouts after similar basking). The audience knew what they wanted, and it was awesome!

Movie was a blast, with lots of cheering and applause and shout outs. I also missed the
puny god
line, but it was still a great experience.

Probably the best movie experience I've had in a long time. Fantastic audience, strong film, and nearly tangible excitement. Now I'm looking for an excuse to see it again.

Oh, and Thanos...the theater went CRAZY. So damn excited for Avengers 2.

Wait there was another post-credits scene? Damn it.

But I have nothing to say that hasn't been said already. Incredible movie. Truly sublime. Loved every moment. Can't wait for the sequels to the individuals then Avengers 2. Best movie of the year until Dark Knight Rises anyway. Probably my top three superhero movie, along with Dark Knight and Spiderman 2.

Thinking about the ending and Hulk, I loved how it seemed like
Tony was the only one that knew Banner's secret. Like Banner told it to him while they were working together, and Tony called him in to NYC because he knew Banner would keep it under control while everyone else was like "uhh...Banner?" Tony believed in his new friend.

And damn...when Banner Hulk's out with the "I am always angry" line and takes down the giant snake monster in ONE PUNCH! I was giggling like a little girl at that moment. The entire finale, Hulk was like a demented, indestructible five year old throwing a tantrum. Just as it should be.

Got back from a 9:15a showing and I'm still buzzing from the adrenaline high, so my thoughts are a bit jumbled.

Though I agree w/ what some others have said about Cap being a bit on the underwhelming side, Whedon did a fantastic job getting everyone involved. It was a great ensemble movie.

I was really pleasantly surprised w/ how well Widow and Hawkeye were used.

Hulk ... was amazing. We need a Ruffalo Hulk movie stat, preferably directed by Whedon. He finally got the movie portrayal he deserves.

Great, great movie and the ending setup for what I assume will be the main villain for A2
THANOS!
... oh SHIT that's going to be epic.
