That shot in the trailer of the camera circling the Avengers and the Hulk roaring was soooo fucking good in the movie. Got major goosebumps. Goddamn the movie just kicked ass
My favorite shot has to the where the camera continuously tracks each Avenger as they're kicking ass. I nearly lost my shit when that happened. And the one liners were AMAZING.

Oh God if I could only marry a movie...

I thought Whedon did an amazing job making sure the ensemble was working together effortlessly as they were trying to kick ass. Little things like
Iron Man shooting off of Cap's shield, and Thor and Hulk taking down that giant flying beast. They even made Hawkeye somewhat useful.

ILM. They have done all the Marvel Studios movies.
We've only done the Iron Man films and the first Hulk before this. Wasn't involved with the others.

a movie like this its all hands on deck.

ILM(lead) and WETA both worked on it. like avatar it was WETA(lead) and ILM.
Hydraulx and Digital Domain also contributed, along with a bunch of smaller contributions from smaller effects houses.

did they use the body suits like they did for Golem in LoTR and the natives in Avatar?
Ruffalo had the equivalent ILM setup as those, which were used for Davy Jones from the Pirates films and...well, Iron Man in his films heh.

welp got to see it,....movie was the truth. Special shout out to Tom Hiddleson who was the glue that held it together. Not only was he evil but he kept a hint of "mischief" about him which is the core of Loki bravo good sir. This summer is gonna be crazy, Spiderman and Batman look great too.

They did a great thing using both the ultimates and original enemies to craft an origin story for the team.
Holy shit this also. I really liked Hiddleson in Thor but he was on an entirely different level here. Loved his performance.

They both took the Chitauri from The Ultimates, but the Chitauri in this movie are pretty drastically different from the ones in the Ultimates and Ultimate Avengers, which were essentially Skrulls. In this movie, they basically just used the name because it's a recognizable race Marvel Studios owns the rights to.
Pretty much. They needed an alien race that wasn't part of the realms, but at the same time didn't want something as complex as being able to shape shift.

I can't think of any other known alien army that isn't related to the realms (i.e. truly ET) that they could've used. I would love for them to eventually introduce genuine 616 Skrulls, though.

Hulk single handedly destroys an alien air ship, rag dolls loki and thor barley held him off on the Helicarrier

If your talk about the movie yes Hulk was awesome but Thor
also destroy a whole bunch of alien ships with his lighting bolt and hulk did not do any real damage to him
Either way Iron Man in not in the class as Thor power wise in the movie .

The movie established that Thor
can be killed by conventional means, or at least hurt. Ie, Loki stabbing him in the abdomen.
Whereas Banner stated that
he tried killing himself using a gun to his head and the other guy just spat it out.

Also, Loki pretty much said
that "people think we are invincible, but lets put that theory to test" as he ejected Thor inside Hulk's prison cell. Thor had to escape that cell to survive, where as the Hulk fell from the same height and survived without a scratch.
Let's not forget the
Thor versus Hulk fight where Thor was made to bleed.

I went it not expecting much, came out absolutely loving it. The team interaction was so amazing, Whedon went above and beyond to nail it perfectly.

I was also crazy impressed with how everyone got badass stuff to do. Hawkeye probably had the most badass moments in the movie after Hulk. Some of the stuff he did, especially when he was
under Loki's control
was insane.

And man Hulk absolutely stole the movie. His
pummeling of Loki and punch to Thor after they manhandled everyone
got the craziest reactions I've ever heard in a movie theater. I thought the guy in front of me was going to have a seizure from freaking out.

If Thor didn't have his hammer, would he and Captain America be about equal? Or is Thor still stronger/more durable?

Still my point was that Iron Man is not in same class as Thor power wise if we talking about the Movie.

If Thor didn't have his hammer, would he and Captain America be about equal? Or is Thor still stronger/more durable?

Are you talking about the comics or Movie .
Thor is a God , in the comics he is thousands of times stronger than Captain America and that's not even talking about his other powers.

I think the movie had multiple scenes and statements that imply Hulk was meant to be seen as the stronger one between him and Thor.

Regardless, Thor has been portrayed as far weaker than his comic self in the movies, but it makes sense since the movies wouldn't be very long otherwise.

I thought we were talking about Thor versus Hulk?

I should have ask if he was talking about the movie or comics .
I thought he was talking about the comics which they would be in the same Class .
Not to mention Thor has some broken powers but i not check up on comics in a while .

i think its pretty clear that hulk is the strongest, everybody fears him. it's:

1. hulk
2. thor
3. iron man

large gap

4. cap
5. black widow
6. hawkeye

Is the female you're talking about there, Hela? It would be awesome to introduce her in Thor 2, which could also in some way set up
Thanos
.

No, I'm referring to
Death itself. In the Marvel Universe, Death is embodied as a female, and Thanos tries to win her "heart" by killing half the beings in the universe. He's one sick puppy. I can't wait to see what she looks like in Avengers 2.

Thos in the comics even said he knew he can't beat hulk, not that old of an issue. maybe from 2011 cant remember which one though.

BTW Saw it today and it fucking rocks!

Just came from watching it in IMAX 3D with a friend, and hot damn I was blown away.

For the record, I only thought that the collective of Marvel movies were "alright", with Iron Man being the top, and Captain America, whose suit and the setting of the movie was such a huge turnoff for me that I only watched it a few weeks ago in anticipation for The Avengers is at the bottom - but damn, the action, humor, and interaction in this movie was dead-on.

Even Cap's suit with its little changes look so much better on big screen too.

I was thinking how the "regular" heroes like Hawkeye or Black Widow, or even Captain America in a way would be pulled off against a god and his outer-space army, but they nailed it proper.

The jokes were on point to where they didn't seem cheesy, they were genuinely funny, and every character had at least one point where they stole the scene, of course, some more than others, but at least everyone had one great moment to shine.

Dr. Banner was on-point too, with his finicky ways, sorry Ed Norton.

Tony Stark/Iron Man stole the movie - right after him, The Hulk. They made Hulk look like a BEAST in this movie, damn. Really the Incredible Hulk. Fucking shit up like a BOSS.

Not only do I want to see this movie again, but somehow, the movie made me want to pick up Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and get back into the game again after skipping out on it because of Capcom's shadiness - I'd only do it once I'd find a way to trade MvC3 for UMvC3 without paying a cent though.

Really they should just do a combo Iron Man/Hulk movie where Banner and Stark are bros just hanging out doing bro things while blowing shit up.

Yeah, Mark Ruffalo was great.

I loved the scene in the beginning where he freaked out
Black Widow and she pulled a gun on him. You could see that fear in her eyes and a hint of a tear or something.

Was a great scene.

That and

And when she was urging Banner to calm down before he transformed in the Helicarrier were two of my favorite parts of the movie.

Saw it earlier to today, very impressive balance in using all the characters, and Whedon's humor really gave the movie a different feel, but the crowd realllly loved it.

Some thoughts:

- The team dynamic worked fine, and I'm happy with the split between action / dialogue

- Mark Ruffalo was ok, admirable even, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss Norton :(

- Action was largely great, but it can get annoying when the camera zooms in a little too close

- The nods to the fans were fun

Overall, excellent popcorn entertainment, and nicely sets up follow up movies.

So much this all over my face. Very well put.

I'd watch that,
and they even go in that direction easily since they both split together at the end, and clicked on the airship already.

Oh, and that little thing at the end of the action finale as well too.

Just got back from seeing this.

Holy shitballs was this movie awesome.
The only negative thing I've got to say is the forced 3d but I think that's just the theater being dicks since they're the only one in town.

The whole theater roared at the smashdown Hulk gave
Loki, do I even need to spoiler this?

i'm sure it's been mentioned, but i wish they didn't show some scenes in trailers which would've made them more impactful in the movie. one in particular would've been climactic and applause worthy imo.
