They can show Death talking to Thanos at the beginning then during the fight have a quick scene but then switch back to the Avengers and have them see Thanos talking to nobody. Can make Thanos look nuts.

EDIT: Wrong thread for that.

I actually agree 100%- either have her appear just as an attractive, normal-looking young woman, briefly, or never even show her at all despite Thanos talking to her throughout his screen time, and look like (more of) a lunatic to the people in the audience who don't know his deal.

That's not twisted enough. The whole creepiness factor is that Thanos knows she's a skeleton, and still wants to get down.

Plz no Whedon regulars.

Also, too late. Alexis Denisof was the voice of "The Other" and that girl who was being interview at the end was also one of Whedon regulars.

You said much the same about Whedon directing. And now look. Practically shopping for a brown coat and a signed picture of Eliza Dushku!

I LOL'd

Just saw this last night. Fucking amazing. One of the best comic book movies I've seen to date.

The part where Loki was talking shit to the Hulk about how he was a god and to fear had me rolling in the aisles.

Ah, cool. Thanks chaps. well that's something to look forward to in the inevitable sequel. I quite like the idea of death being a character, but maybe not show her though...can't see a hooded female skeleton translating well.

She doesn't do much, she kind of stand there and ignore him, which would be as good in film as is in the comics, IMO.
Get a pretty girl, hood her, have her walk around a space temple while the crazy big purple guy shouts desperatly that he loves her and he's already killed half the universe and what the fuck love me!

Ya, but if Fillion plays Pym and Baccarin plays Wasp then Mal/Inara shippers are gunna be pissed.

The person helping Fury out with the Carrier for his expertize:

Side-Note:
Homeboy is super orange (oompaa-lompaa) in Suburgatory

Ant Man would be cool, but Wasp is the most useless superhero ever. They should do a female Avenger that would actually be powerful, like Ms. Marvel.

Also since the Infinity Gauntlet was seen at in Odin's treasure room in Thor, does that mean if it would to be included in the next movie they would skip collecting the gems?

I remember that the Infinity Gauntlet was cut out of the final film but was in the movie props/artbook. correct me.if i'm wrong.

Actually, I concede the point on that. It's just a hard sell to an unfamiliar audience.

Damnit. If this line does not appear verbatim in the movie I will be forever dissatisfied

No, it's there. Apparently complete.

I'm a long time DC Fan but went to see this and loved it so much.

I only have The Civil War to read from the Marvel Universe, but what would you guys recommend for someone like me? (I'm aware of most of the origin stories from the films and reading the net, wiki etc but looking for some good reads.)

I'm already eyeing these up:

Infinity Gauntlet
The Ultimates Ultimate Collection
The Ultimates II Ultimate Collection

Anything else?

I wonder which cosmic hero they could bring in to give everyone the skinny on Thanos.

Mar-vell?
Dr. Strange all day

You poor thing. I don't hate it, but it's so not representative of the best of Marvel, and relies heavily on knowing and loving the major players to one effect or another. Please don't judge your experience with Marvel based on that arc.

Ultimates is a great book but doesn't have anything to do with Thanos. If you like it, especially stylistically, and want to see some more stuff that involves characters the MCU won't touch I really love the first handful of arcs of Ultimate X-Men.

Infinity Gauntlet is a good story. Continue with Infinity War (it's pretty short in comparison I think). I never read crusade.

Got myself some Shawarma this morning. Had it with the Jalapeno and Scallion Hummus and some cucumber and tomato mix. THIS STUFF IS DELICIOUS!

I now know why THOR was destroying that stuff!

Really if you like Turkish/Moroccan/Mediterranean food, you'll love this. Can't wait to buy my wife some (as she loves the three food types above, heck she's the one who got me to try Moroccan.

Hulk was amazing as this...as has been said to death but felt like I'd stoke the flames a bit. Just awesome.

I was so sick of Shawarma before this movie on account of my college city having way too many shawarma places, but I think I crave it now. That picture is making me way too hungry Manos.

Protip: Ask for turnip in your shawarma even if it's not listed on the menu.

It's so damn good. I got it at a place called Chickpea that opened in Penn Station (NYC) last year.

I'll keep that in mind for next time. Now I just need to figure out how to make my own. This could be a great bring to work meal/lunch.

So what are the Avengers chances from taking down Avatar from the #1 spot? Hopefully it has legs.

It has a decent chance in that it has established characters that people will naturally want to see over and over. So I think that helps.

...yeah while we may not get that line, thats pretty much what he says in the comics especially when the master of all things cosmic Jim Starlin was doing him.

Dr. Strange or Adam Warlock.

Strange could work. Though I don't know how well a guy who is just magic would work in this setting. After going through such lengths to show all the Asgard stuff as really advanced technology I feel like they'd want to do something similar with Doc Strange.

You guys are absolutely insane. This is summer movie season. Avengers isn't going to hold #1 slot for months on end or be able to have the legs to come anywheres close to $750M.

Adjust your sights more to the $500M-$550M range. Which, by the way, is PHENOMENAL.

I'm not sure about that, but who knows. The Avengers does have to deal with a lot of other summer releases.

True, but this coming month doesn't look that buzzworthy.

Dark Shadows - Bomb
The Dictator - Bomb
Battleship - John Carter Bomba
MIB3 - Meh buzz

This was the first time they really nailed Hulk in my view, he was incredible in every scene he was in and pretty much stole the show. The build up to him first transforming was really well handled, the other characters are just goading him and egging him on and he's trying to contain it. The part where Hulk is ragdolling Loki was absolutely hilarious. Mark Ruffallo was brilliant and he and Robert Downey had a great chemistry.

I found the movie so much fun, so many great laugh out loud moments and one of the few occasions where I genuinely thought the visual effects added a lot to the movie. I found my heart racing all throughout the action scenes. I was really impressed with the outer space sequences, really great looking visually.

Yeah, that is a bad comparison. I wanted Rachel to die and was happy when she did, unlike Coulson.
You are missing the point, on purpose :P

Btw, forget 200M opening weekend figure, new estimate is out:
206M
. We should be getting actuals soon.

Secret Wars (the 80s version, there is a more recent one that has nothing to do with it that)
I'm a big fan of Operation Galactic Storm, but don't know if people like it as much as I do.

And for now my mind is blank.

Better yet, make her look like the DC/Vertigo Death just to fuck with people.

Dark Shadows looks awful and i'm sure it will turn out to be, but the Depp/Burton namedrop should make it a success. I don't think it can rival The Avengers commercially, but I wouldn't write it off either.
