I believe he said that in regards to content patching, not expansions.
Yeap, this is what I remember from the interview/talk in question.
I believe he said that in regards to content patching, not expansions.
Question: Are there plans to randomly triggered events or types of endgame content after the release of patches into the game - apart from PvP content?
Answer: No, and it is important that you understand that Diablo 3 is not World of Warcraft. We will bring the planned PvP content with a patch into the game, but apart from that would be the only new content items likely - and even this is not set in stone. We will not add new dungeons, bosses or enemies. Patches for Diablo 3 will adjust the balance of the game or game system improvements included, but you should not expect any concrete content. The randomly generated dungeons and items are already offering to publish a Diablo game is an infinite amount of content.
You people got me so hyped, I'm going to the American Book Center here in the city to buy the Book of Cain before work.
You guys are making me wanna get this too! What's the content like?
Does it cover the entire story up to 3?It's a brief summarization of most major events and lore from the very origin of the Diablo universe that predates even heaven and hell to current times.
Was not expecting unboxing videos already.
I'll refrain from watching, watching SC2 CE unboxing ruined the moment for me =/.
Yep, pretty much!Does it cover the entire story up to 3?

Ow man, if I may ask, what kind of work do you do?Yeah I was surprised to find it so soon too. It's a pretty sweet bit of gear, typical of Blizzard.
Just found out I will be working next week, after having had the last month or two off, lol. What timing!
(I don't mind, getting paid $40/hr)
It'll be up in a couple of hours!where da OT?
Yep, pretty much!
Thanks. Part of me is wanting to play through both games properly (I've only played D2 normal up to somewhere in act 2), but the logical part of me knows that I struggle for time as it is and I won't touch them when I have 3.It does. It pretty much summarizes every bit of lore in the Diablo universe. From the creation of sanctuary, to the start of the events in Diablo 3 and everything in between. It's a perfect companion to Diablo 3.

A nice book seems like a happy middle ground.
Thanks, I didn't actually read those in the beta but I will in the full game. To be honest I'd dismissed the story completely (I guess because by the time I got to the franchise in any way it was nothing but a loot game to everyone still playing it) but those videos I watched last week actually got me really interested in it.D3 itself seems like it'll cover a lot of the lore in its in-game narrative. The tomes of Lachdannan and Leoric you found in the beta were basically retelling the D1 backstory, I imagine it eventually gets into retelling D1 and D2's in-game stuff a bit.
Beware Art book spoilers.
I wasn't going to bother, but now I regret it and I don't know why (probably because I can't get it).lol the CE is officially sold out in europe it seems.

With the more than likely iteration/changes/patches, is there a point to getting the guide at all besides having a nice repository of in-game art?

$52 after exchange rate
Are we there yet?
Puuh ok thanks guys. No expansion packs would be pretty ridiculous.
