Found this excellent stuff on deviantart, love it when movies spur this type of fan made stuff. So far he's only made Thor and just recently made this Loki one. Captain America is coming next, apparently!

Just beautiful, imo. Anyway, here's some cool retro retro posters I enjoyed as well:

also, how did black widow get loki to reveal he intends to use the hulk to get him out? i missed what he said that led her to tell nick fury about his hulk plan.

for some reason it sounded like a huge revelation but the avengers were talking about loki using them against eachother way before that conversation.

I thought it was pretty weak in the theatre, but it might make sense. Does Loki's staff transmit sound as well as location? I can't really recall.

The main thing I found weak about the "use Hulk to distract/escape" point was the timing of it all. How did Hawkeye know to attach exactly when Banner was getting frustrated/pissed off? If he hadn't been frustrated and pushed into an incontrollable rage, couldn't he have just done his "controllable" transformation and fucked the baddies up?

It's a little too "the Joker wanted to be caught" perfect.

Not sure if this one was posted from DevArt (was an ode to Sendak with the Avengers)

I didn't personally see this, but someone in this thread mentioned that a monitor in the ship Hawkeye was in had something on it that told them to go now. Like there was a signal from the staff or something to attack then.

What's the deal with Fury's eye? Why does it have all those black marks around it that look strangely similar to the marks stark had in IM2 before his powerup.

I love Avengers art, I think we had a thread on it a while back, I'm not sure what it is about those four characters that works so well but it does. This film was my first real exposure to an Avengers story.

also didnt understand that whole bit about the staff either. it kept pulsating and stuff and randomly ended up on banners hand. they mentioned something about it emitting gamma radiation so i thought banner touching it would hulk him up, but that didnt lead to anything

I took it as when Banner was holding the staff, and made it go "off" with his anger and he was about to transform, then which sent the signal to clint to go in. Or anger made the staff give off more radiation/energy, like it was the ring to rule them all, which triggered their sensors.

Plus. Movie Timing.

Some great art on this page. Damn.

Yeah, and I thought the staff/monitor being viewed by Hawkeye just let him to the ship, not necessarily timed anything.

Also, was there an explanation for why this super advanced flying warship didn't pick up Hawkeye's ship on some kind of radar?

Banner grabbing the staff didn't make sense to me, either. It felt like a LOTR "the Ring" kinda thing, but just came out of nowhere. I don't view Banner, the man, as inherently violent.

A: Banner is always angry, Loki's staff is adversely effecting everyone's emotions and as things get hot he picks it up. It's what's having the adverse effect, so I don't see how it doesn't make sense. It makes perfect sense.

B: Why shoot down a random ship if you're cloaked and no one can see you?

Great find. Thanks for posting them! :)

And make sure to post the rest that come out, please

Since it was a Shield aircraft, they received clearance to land when they said they were carrying munitions or something to that effect. Imperial Shuttle/Moon of Endor bit.

Was that the explanation? That Loki's staff was making everyone angry? I honestly don't remember.

It doesn't make sense, because he grabs it like he's going to use it and its framed so that he doesn't even realize he has grabbed it.

B: Why shoot down a random ship if you're cloaked and no one can see you?

...because it was an advanced ship (clearly not a standard jet) flying right for them and then circling them?

EDIT:

Ah, thanks. How did they get the ship? They escaped the SHIELD base in trucks.

It was framed to show that they didn't realize that the staff was making them agitated. Bruce is closest to the Staff, so it makes sense for him to grab it to use as a weapon before he Hulks out. (Which he was about to do.)

...because it was an advanced ship (clearly not a standard jet) flying right for them and then circling them?

You've got a giant helicarrier flying around completely invisible and you're going to blow cover by shooting down one of your own ships?

What are they making fun of here? I'm reminded of that horror comic where people found human-shaped holes in the side of the mountain and were compelled to go inside, but that's probably not what they're referring to here.

Hulk smashing Loki into the floor. They are mocking it, it would seem.

Like if a drunk dude layed down in the chalked lines at a murder scene I guess and started saying "look at me, I got shot being a d-bag" or something. idk.

Everything in the movie worked except the death of the agent guy, they turned it into the huge change that everyone needed to start working together, and the whole cello player bit, I get it. But they should have killed furry if they wanted me to feel something.

But besides that, it was pretty damn well mendeled together.

Should have killed all of them.
