Lol. DICE killing it is hilarious, even before the DLC has released. They really are relying on community, aren't they? I would love for these people to shut down servers the day the DLC release to show them how much they've fucked up.
People shit on COD:Elite, but this is worse than that for some folks. I can guarantee you that PS3/360 support will die in a few months. Know your role, DICE.

EA would simply turn theirs on again. I mean... they shut down the servers for the BF2142 DEMO, released 6 years ago, only a few months ago. They aren't killing anything, user your heads people...

It hasn't worked since they rolled out the rent-a-server for me, all it shows is customs. Removing all the official servers might have been their fix for this...

I noticed the official servers disappearing. I'm so tired of these 300%+ games on Operation Metro or those slow, boring ass air maps, an average game now last a whole fucking hour, some lasting almost two hours! I don't have that kind of time, man! Give me a regular game!!
PS2 games running on servers outlasted Halo 2. This is just EA being EA.

Nothing console devs suck in letting console gamers reap the rewards of multiplayer gaming. PS3 does this with some games but so did PS2 and Xbox in some instances I believe as well. Not allowing console gamers do to something so simple like turn their machines in to a dedicated box is just dumb. The tech is already there to do so when they make the game multiplayer and online based they just don't extend it to the gamer.

EA doesn't actually charge you anything to play online (unless you're talking about the online pass which only effects used games) and people paying money to have dedicated servers is not new by any stretch of the imagination.

You're paying money to access the servers and then paying money for the servers to actually be hosted.

EA isn't that successful. Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3 did well, but everything else has been tanking for them lately.
