Can't wait til we get a CLEAN, non boot-leg GIF of that tracking shot that shows all 6 heroes doing their thang (starts with Cap and Iron man on the ground including dat IM laser shot off Cap's shield, then goes to BW and Hawkeye, then ends with Hulk and Thor taking down a ship).

It will be GLORIOUS.

Tony should just build Cap a suit:

Well Coulson helped design it, maybe he just has terrible fashion sense.

Glad he's dead.

Seriously, the bulkier suit in TFA was perfect for the big screen, no reason at all to change it. I also find it funny they claim that hawkeye's suit wouldn't translate well to the BS, but they went ahead with Cap's hideous new suit and thought it would look good/translate well to the BS.

damn, that suit (the one with no mask, not that lame iron man reskin) is rad. i really hope they ditch the helmet for cap 2/a2.

i also think the extra 30 minutes in the blu ray will help his character in the avengers.

The suit from the first movie was goddamn perfect.

The scene where he gives orders felt shoehorned in. There was nothing to show why they decided to have him as leader or why they needed him to give them orders, IM felt more like the leader.

The same scene was also lolworthy as they were surrounded by the enemy, but the enemy ecided to take a break until after all the orders had been given.

Remember how Stark said Cap wasn't of use in the lab? Opposite applies here. War is Cap's domain, and even Stark knew it, hence him deferring.

Also, first wave just went down, second wave was on its way, but far away, and specifically coming for them. Think of it like Horde/Firefight Mode.

I didn't understand why they were all upset when the officer died. I'm like who is this guy?

And that was what kinda galvanized the group so it was weird because I missed why they would be so attached to him.

I hate all you sons of bitches putting Thor down your list. I love Thor. Seeing Thor and Hulk go at it on film was one of my greatest dreams. Did anyone else catch one of Hulk's punches? Hell no.

Actually, it starts with Iron Man defending Black Widow.

But yeah, that .gif will be glorious.

When Coulson got stabbed, at least in my theatre, everyone went "OH fuck no", "Fuck this shit", "NOOOOO", "No, no, no, no, no, no", "FUCK", "SHIT", "NO, NOT HIM".

It's unreal.

He's the only one who's been in all the movies. (He was in Captain America right?)

Expendable,

I tried listening to your latest podcast, but stopped 5 min into it when all you said you enjoyed the TDKR trailer more than the Avengers, and were serious. :lol No. I get enough of that trolling in this thread. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the podcast played out like the trolls in here: Spend 95% of the time shitting on the movie, but add in a few obligatory "I liked it..I SWEAR" lines here & there.

But after that opening to the podcast? Nah. Not worth my time. But I'm sure a few of the regulars in here will now want to listen to it. :)

Indeed.

Good point about Cap having seen war, but it still didn't felt a little shoehorned in. Maybe because they didn't show Cap having much of a strategic mind in TFA. It's something they need to work on and highlight as one of his strengths.

I meant all the Chitauri who were on the building, the ones who took their masks off and started howling after Hulk and IM took down the first worm. They were still there, but did nothing until after all the orders had been given and Hulk jumped up to them.

What are you talking about? There's barely been any trolling in this thread. In fact, it's quite remarkable. I can't recall a single other major movie release thread ever on GAF with less trolling in it.

Did you skip every other one of the movies before this one?

I felt Cap giving orders felt awkward and non authoritative as well. It came off to me as IM is the leader. imo.

Also, Coulson is awesome! haha. Plus he had a hand in recruiting everybody, right? I think? So they would get to know him more than random shield guy.

Definitely agree about them needing to show Cap's strategy more in TFA. I thought up to him being given the serum & the final bit with Peggy were top notch, but everything else wasn't really my bag.

Ah, I gotcha on that one. I wish they didn't have that, but it was necessary so they could do the big group shot, I suppose.

Coulson's best role was in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer"

I also noticed that the other agent in "The Consultant" was on the Helicarrier.

Well even then the connection doesn't make much sense. He was mostly treated as an annoyance and Cap barely knew him.

I think it was all about their failure personally. Because they were so distracted by all the in fighting and pettiness, the Agent ended up dying. The cards were an added hit for Cap because it aided in reminding him where he came from and what role he was supposed to play. At least that was my take on it.

I never felt it was because of him dying really. It was more about their failure as a team which lead to his death and why they needed to come together.

I don't understand the strategy complaints. Cap led the team. What did you guys want to see, Cap staring at a map or something?

Probably because it doesn't fit with their version of how a team should be lead by Cap. I mean, war isn't won by staring at the map and yelling plays over a comm - but basically how Cap lead the team in TFA and in Avengers: you trust your guys to do what they do best and direct them to get into the best positions as possible. Not really hard.

He directed Hawkeye to head to higher ground = he knew that Hawkeye's best when he sees all and due to his experience as a SHIELD agent, he can take and give orders accordingly

He directed IM to handle the perimeter = he knew that since Tony has ranged weapons/can fly, it's easier to keep the action in one confined space

Directing Thor to the sky is pretty obvious, he can fly and controls lightning with his hammer = Chrysler Building lightning rod

Directing Hulk = smash

Having BW as his back-up, you have another experienced soldier who can be directed to get the job done.

Same in my theater. It's funny, everyone realizes at that moment how reassuring his goofy professionalism has been throughout the films.
