Having now seen that he actually was the right choice for this movie I'm now really worried about the idea of someone else at the helm.
No, give it to Andrew Stanton.
Brad Bird for Avengers 2!
He's already shown he can masterfully handle teams of superheroes via The Incredibles.
There's literally 0% chance that he won't be doing the sequel. I think the real worry is if it'll suffer IM2 syndrome all over again, or if it'll actually live up to the first and even out weigh it.Yeah, I wish we could get confirmation already.
Are you looking at the same original 2K renders I am, or the short, small-sized gif taken from a poor bootleg capture?![]()
^As much as I can be a downer on Evans/Cap for whatever reason, he's always seemed like a good guy in interviews and all that, and I think he's great for the role. I really, really hope CA2 is excellent.
I've said it a million times, but Cap has a long ways to go and I want Evans to transform with that. A bit MCU/OT but we don't know who's directing/writing CA2 yet, do we?
Kind of hate that armor but only because whenever I look at it I see a cat. Bugs the hell out of me. But I do agree that it looks a lot more like "armor" than usual. I always wonder how Stark can take all of these falls and hits with the armor being so close to his body. Do they ever explain that?
Chris Nolan's schedule will be clear pretty soon.
But let's be serious. Look carefully at the gif, Thor starts off what, like way less than half the size of Hulk, he tosses his tiny hammer, I mean its teensy! As it travels to Hulk, it's magically altering in size and when it lands in Hulk's hand, its suddenly large enough to fit in Hulk's hand. This is just too incredible to believe. I can't swallow this hogwash.
I hope this post puts things into perspective.
The bait is too great!!

You know, I love all my raggedy children, he said. But if I could be anywhere, Id be on board Serenity.
Hooooooooo my god.Brad Bird for Avengers 2!

Seriously, could you imagine? This world isn't perfect enough for something like that to happen though..Hooooooooo my god.
Why not?No no fuck no

Watched it for a 2nd time today. Cap and Thor are now tied in comparison to my previous rankings.
Hulk > Iron Man > Cap/Thor > Black Widow > Hawkeye
Banner's not interesting?I think RDJ is a great Tony Stark but I think I'll get tired of him eventually. Banner has never been an interesting character for me and Thor is just... Thor. I don't read comics so I'm talking out of my ass big time but in the movie world where stories don't have months (even years) to develop, where do these characters go from here?
From the comic? Try mythology. Odin has always been associated with ravens.
I'm pretty sure the thing about Captain America reflecting the laser from Iron Man in that exact way comes from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 game, but it's probably from the comics. As for the little details, the Black Sabbath shirt and Widow's gloves.
Wait, what about Black Widow's gloves?
She usually wears distinctively shaped bracelets which fire the "Widow's Bite" electro-static energy blasts that can deliver charges up to 30,000 volts

I love how Thor does a Tiger Knee on Hulk as he tries to lift the hammer.
Joss Whedon has said that a sequel to The Avengers would need to be "smaller" and "more personal".
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator told SFX that he doesn't want a follow-up to "rehash" what worked in the first film.
Asked how Avengers 2 could top next month's superhero blockbuster, Whedon responded: "By not trying to. By being smaller. More personal, more painful.
"By being the next thing that should happen to these characters, and not just a rehash of what seemed to work the first time. By having a theme that is completely fresh and organic to itself."
Whedon joked that a sequel could take heed from crime classic The Godfather II "by having flashbacks to young Michael Andolini escaping Sicily to come to New York, where he will be called Corleone".
"Sequels are always better when that happens," he quipped.
Whedon added that he has strived to give each character in The Avengers, which brings together Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk, enough screen time to see "what makes them awesome".
"I want to know what makes them tick, what makes them flawed, what makes them fight - and ultimately, what makes them awesome," he explained. "I go to these movies for those moments when the heroes define themselves, either through action or deliciously overwritten speeches."
Huh, I actually really agree with him there.

Sounds excellent. He knows exactly what was 'wrong' with Avengers, but it's something that it had to do regardless, in order to get the numbers and reaction we see now, I think.
I remember reading this and thinking "welp, looks like Whedon isn't directing Avengers 2", but I guess the box office has since changed that. He may just get whatever he wants, with a few Marvel mandated bullet points to hit.

So is Brad Pitt regretting not taking the role of Steve Rogers now?
Well of course, I can see you're a huge fan.
Screw you guys.Somehow, I am not surprised. At all.
All of the problems with that film lied within the script, which he had no part in.He also already shown he can make a dreadful live action movie.
No thanks.

Haha, ouch. So close!
Why in the hell would he?
lol I don't think Brad Pitt gives a shit. He's got one of the best careers in Hollywood at the moment.
:lol It was a joke people, referencing the Ultimates comic;Brad Pitt was up for Steve? wow glad that never happened
