Dat CG cutscene at the end of Act 1!!! So good! How come they don't do a movie in this style again? Fuck a live action WoW movie, do it in CG.

Punch stuff, heal yourself, stun everything around you, buff everyone up.
 
act 2 now, awesome stuff.

btw I missed one quest in act 1 and when I go in "select quests" I can't go back to the old ones. wtf? =|
 
I might be a longer write up later, but this is what I have to say:

Doing 1k + DPS with my level 37 DH and just entering nightmare act 2. I'm absolutely floored by this game. So much damn fun.

Best skills:

Vault has completely blown me away. I depend on this skill. Tumble is phenomenal and will never leave my skill bar.

Elemental Arrow w/ Frost Arrow is incredible. I regen 7/hatred a sec and with vegeance giving me 150 total hatred, I essentially don't need a generator and pummel dudes with this 170% damage shot with AOE and slow all day. Incredible skill.

Multi-shot w/ Fire At Will is the perfect crowd control option. Four shots of this at 80 hatred + elemental arrow makes quick work of most large groups.

Companion w/ Bat gives me an extra 3 hatred regen/sec which is HUGE.

Anyway, I'm digging every moment of this and hope to discover more skills that blow me away.

Still on normal, but I've found vault pretty worthless. There's some weird lag issue between when you press it and actually vault. It's not server lag.. cause all my others skills don't lag as much.

I'll push the button and she'll go "Hrmm... maybe I should jump away" for a couple seconds while demons pummel her face. Then she'll go flying off.

Yes and no:

Is it right now? No, because people are putting stupid good items on the AH for cheap.

I personally have my smith maxed out for normal, and I've been lucky in crafting ridiculous gear (on par if not better) than the AH currently. To that point, you can buy crafting mats for cheap. 100 for ~$1900. Seeing how that's 100 blues which can safely average $150 if you sell you're coming out ahead. BUT, it takes a stupid amount to get him to that level to craft good gear.

My problem with Vault is I often doubleclick, which sometimes makes me vault back into danger and waste Discipline :D

That's another issue. I'll push it... and since it has that huge lag I'll think the click didn't go through. I'll click again... and out comes the double vault.

I just find smoke screen so much better.

The images Realyn are from act 3 so no they're not the last boss at all.

No, the second image had chat lines from the act4 boss, which I changed once some pointed it out. But someone has to go bananas.

But vault + runes is really good. Just throwing this out there: Do you have invincibility while in the vault animation?

Haha yeah, I guess with the issues Im having, Smoke Screen is probably better. But damn it, Vault feels so good to use. Almost wish they could just put a small cooldown on it or something.

I'm at an area in Act II now called
Desolate Sands
and I'm just completely floored at how awesome it looks. It seriously looks like a PAINTING no joke, it's beautiful. Everyone should explore that entire massive area, the level of detail and the quality of it is stunning. You would think that a place with just
sand and bones
couldn't look so gorgeous but it somehow does. Blizzard have outdone themselves with the art in this game.

You have one more option - you can sell them to vendors. I also ended up with a lot more materials than I knew what to do with, and what's worse is that the higher-tier crafting uses a different set of materials.

I usually just salvaged them if they were nothing special. Anything really interesting got put up on the AH for 5-10k and usually went pretty quick.
 
Damn you, Diablo. This was my month of "I'm going to buy D3 to keep me ultra frugal and make sure it keeps me entertained so I buy nothing else that I don't need."

Then I started reading this thread, missed my DH, and overnighted a new monitor from Amazon.

I'm confused about the whole starter edition/guest pass thing. As far as I know no one gave me a guest pass, but I have access to the starter edition right now. I just logged in, made a character, and started to play. I thought I had to wait 30 days to play without a guest pass.
 
I can't tell if I'm undergeared or if Hell is just that difficult. Has anybody played it or been watching streams? I've got a Wizard in Act 2 with 2800 DPS, 1500 armor, and 78 resists, and I'm still dropping like a fly and barely tickling the Elite groups. I don't think my gear is /terrible/. I can't imagine how Inferno's going to be.

The game is called Diablo 3. The last boss of Diablo 1 was Diablo. The last boss of Diablo 2 was Diablo. If people can't draw the connection, their brains aren't working properly.

Does that mean I want to see what he says? No. And I didn't play D1 and D2, and shit MAYBE they were going to go a different route with it here in D3. Who knows? I can assume, great, but I want to find out on my own.
 
So I've had pretty much constant latency issues with this game. ~300ms pings from day one even though I get good pings in most everything else. It's not just me, right?
