Very much agreed on DWing, especially for Monk. It's a speed increase but a shield with similar stats will provide the same bonus as an off-hand weapon, you'll be just as quick, and have more survivability. I swapped over during nightmare and it was much easier to solo stuff in my 95% Magic Find set.
On that note, I adjusted it some more after playing with the AH and got my DPS up to 2k but still have 95% MF. I'm going to scavenge the AH for more items to boost my DPS/Survival and keep that MF or get it higher for Hell.
In the mean time, I'm discovering a Gold Find build for new characters might be quite nice as a way of earning a bit of cash on the side while you level.

Just an example the Rare War Sword you can make (Req. Level 29) costs ~4.5k and AHs pretty easily for 6k+ even on duds. If it has a socket and a good stat/+Damage, probably closer to 10k. Not really that bad, honestly.
Getting my ass kicked by the final boss on normal. I think I might have been stacking damage and MF for my gear too much and have fucked myself HP wise. Only 1.7k HP as a level 32 Wizard and I just simply can't stay alive, he kills me almost instantly :\.
I think I have that much HP on my 35 WD on nightmare.![]()
I was more thinking of nightmare stuff and higher. Damn blacksmith pages.
Morning guys,
my 5th HC DH:
After the previous 4 deaths at 18,44,33 and 23ish I decided to go for a tanky setup this time. This should atleast let me survive a DC next to 2-3 trash mobs.
You can't imagine how stupid I felt when I realized that the game just straight up tells you which items are better
Just about to hit Level 55. I am having a rough time in Hell, it's pretty much impossible to do anything productive. I have my bar full of defensive cooldowns when I do try and solo it, but I just get frustrated and quit. I found a good public group and found myself in Act 2, but for now I am waiting on some friends to catch up before I go any further.
The Magic finding in this game is frustrating. It's new, so people aren't gonna have the best gear, so it makes the game all the more challenging, which I appreciate and enjoy, I just find myself unproductive in getting upgrades, because A. I can't find anything good in the game, and B. The stuff on the Auction House is severely overpriced. How is everyone else enjoying the game? Anyone made it to Act IV of Hell yet, if so, what's your opinion on the overall difficulty?
I sold some blues that were better than my yellow I had equipped, but since it was blue I didn't even bother checking the stats because I thought yellow was always better than blue. Yeah I was really stupid with this game :lol

Bought this and I have to say I am not really "enjoying" this game at all. This is my first Diablo game and I love Loot games like Torch Light, Borderlands and ect but for some reason this game just is not clicking with me. Not bad by any means though except this stupid DRM shit that causes me to lag in single player :/
Lol some blues are better than legendary !
What do I need to do to add my Battle.net tag to the Google docs list?
My tag is Danielsan#2760, region is Europe and class a Demon Hunter.
Would love to party up with some Gaffers.
Diablo III is a far superior game to Torchlight 1 in almost every respect. As for the lag, there seem to be some issues at the moment where it's unusually high for some people: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5149177854
The game plays great when the latency is in the green.

I hit 60 on my wizard today. Solo'd everything to Act IV of hell then hit a brick wall at the first encounter in Act IV. Can't seem to do it alone. However, I was able to kill just about any combination of unique mobs you could think of with enough respawning and kiting. I joined my first public game today and found that they were trying to skip elite packs that were troublesome so I just went back to solo farming with the 60 buff because that seems easier than banging my head against a wall with randoms.

Dual wielding at a 15% increased attack speed is just not worth it.
If they made it 30% or even better 40% then it might be worth it to forgo the shield.
I can't sell shit :/
Then again most of my loot are from Normal so it's probably not that valuable.
Eh, it's still not terrible, just reliant on both weapons being practically identical. If your Off-Hand is worse than your Main Hand, the DPS gain from the speed boost starts diminishing until you're actually in the position where you do less damage when Dual Wielding. Granted, it takes a bit (~15% difference in weapon DPS) but still.
On top of that, just getting more stats off the Shield is just generally a better use of a socket anyway, ultimately.
There is a weird problem with this game where it is infinitely more enjoyable with 3 or 4 people, but it is inadvisable to play through with a group your first time because you will steamroll absolutely everything and you are guaranteed to miss plot, dialogue or even bosses if someone accidentally starts something early. I'm not sure which is preferable. All I know is I'm not really gonna be soloing much anymore.
If you're just getting rolling on NM over the weekend and you are US realm, shoot me an add! Really enjoyed the time I've played with gaffers thus far. I'll probably do Act I and II tomorrow morning/afternoon. echoshifting#1278

I'm not sure, but I think that going with a one-hander + quiver on a Demon Hunter may give the dual-wielding attack speed bonus in addition to whatever bonus the quiver has. Or at least the generally faster attack speed of the one-hander + the quiver bonus. A high-end two-hander would probably be better though.
Ugh. Fought my way through to the Cathedral, got some interesting Inferno drops on the way, and got killed in a quarter of a second by a group of Fire Chains / Illusionist / Vortex / Fast zombies.
Dual Wielding has two advantages:
1) Greater hatred/spirit generation
2) Effectively benefits twice from +damage itemization
It is going to produce lower dps on spreadsheet, however.
So are you perma-dead?
in my frustration, I managed to forget about vendors. I'll do that from now on. and yea, crafting seems to fucking suck. lol. maybe we're doing it wrong...but I've not seen anything worth paying 10k to upgrade the dude, then another however much for an item.
I'm happy to say "I don't know." Just seems like at this point, it costs more to upgrade the shop than it does to simply buy good shit from the Auction House.
Has anyone upgraded their shop up to or beyond level 5? If so, what's your take?
Spreadsheet factors +Damage. +Damage on your MH does not work on your OH, however. And it doesn't technically factor twice from +Damage since it still alternates attacks. At best, it factors +Damage on a faster attack speed, not twice.
