That buff only lasts a couple of seconds... besides, with a shield I'm already at 66% armor DR.

Are the unlockable banner decorations they showed a few months back in the game?
Subpar survivability and low DPS. I just feel like that with every skill combo I try, I lose something extremely vital. Be it crowd control or AoE damage. It pisses me off and I don't know what I should use.

Survivability is a given but DPS? Wizard is crazy damaging. I started one because i wanted to take a break from my 51 monk and man the damage is wild especially now that I know what to do.
Also, I've been trying Gold Find on my Wizard and <3, making me decent cash.
I don't really understand the matchmaking system in this game. I just beaten the first act on nightmare and now I'd like to continue my playthrough with other players, except that when I click public games I can only choose act I quests. Do I have to beat the quests I want to play online in solo first ?
Okay, guess I'll grind the first act a little more then. It sucks that you can't see the levels requirements.

Seriously, I'm level 31 and my DPS is like not even close to that!
Mind you, I haven't acquired anything legendary and bought 1 item off AH

lol yeah, I was just explaining why I dont use axes anymore. At first I was using dual axes as much as possible but I keep finding better 2h weapons currently
A friend of mine told me he wouldnt play with me unless I agreed not to name any of my characters after people from GoT, so to spite him I just do the exact opposite with every single character

Only tried a few times but wasn't too crazy about it. The cooldown should be a bit shorter or it should be more mobile.
I propably need to upgrade my gear a lot. No interest in spending money on AH so I'll just grind I guess.

I should try some gold find stuff sometime. I've been ignoring it without even thinking about it since it was pointless in D2.
Yeah Gold Find is lovely. Even on Normal you can build big funds very quickly, knocking over random barrels and such for large stacks of gold if you get it to a decent level, and Champions & Elites are a damn treasure trove with GF/MF, along with resplendent chests, treasure goblins, etc.
Gold Find & Magic Find, people. Get on it!

That's fine. You're not doing anything wrong. Just keep playing and improving your gear. Concentrate on +STR and +damage like +3-6 damage on jewelery and also ruby gem in weapon. Don't abuse the auction house, just play and have fun.
Glad to hear, thanks. Have some yellow-labelled equipment without using the AH yet, but I don't think I have anything with sockets yet.

It's very very good in this because of the AH, if you're still leveling up through Nightmare/Hell, I think it's better to spec for Gold Find, earn and then buy the gear you want. After you get to Hell, I think Magic Find might help a bit more because of legendaries and the like.
My Monk has MF and my Wiz has GF and since Gold is linked, GF is kind of easy and not so fussy. I'm on Act 3 Normal with my wizard and I've earned 50k already with quest rewards and selling off my blue loot because it's trash. You gain even more in multiplayer so it's pretty sweet.
Also, don't forget to skill up the Blacksmith. That will help you with some bits as well.

I'm curious to know how exactly people use archon. My wizard is only level 8 so I haven't tried it myself, but I've been playing through with a friend who plays wizard and he said he tried it and didn't really like it. He doesnt seem to do much damage but somehow he's able to survive and kite stuff for a really long time. I know he uses magic missile, frost nova, energy armor, mirror image, arcane orb and diamond skin...dont know about runes
I keep hearing archon is really powerful but I don't know why. I'm definitely going to try it out when I get a chance
I think that's about right. Why do you think it's wrong? My barb is level 21 or 22 and just broke the 100dps barrier but still cuts through everything in its path.
My level 20 Monk only has 67 dps and even though the game is easy I have died about 6 or 7 times already on normal difficulty. I hear all the guys on here talking how they have not died and I feel like I must really suck at this game but I am still having a lot of fun.
LOL it's hard not to when both my brother's play the game and they are leaving me in the dust (both close to lv 50) and I'm still only lv 36.

Probably better to save the gold and use it on the AH instead. Unless you want the 'feel' of gambling for stats, in which case, go ahead.

Yeah I lvled my blacksmith up to journeymen and stopped because the AH is a better way to get good items now, especially if you know how to search. Some good deals right now since no one knows what stuff is worth.

You're using exactly the same banner as I am, except for colors.
Magic Find nets you random gear that requires a lot of difficulty to acquire. If you just use Gold Find you can buy gear tailored made for you, legendaries included.
As others have said, you're doing nothing wrong. That's around where you should be at playing normally. Don't compare your build with other people who are mostly just buying high-powered rares off the Auction House for cheap. That's the reason you're seeing most if not all of these early high-DPS builds.
So I started a Harcore run just for 'fun', with a Wizard.
I'm not lvl 7 and already been really, really close to death 2-3 times. I can't imagine how nerve-wrecking it must be to play on the higher difficulties when you've invested tons of time into the character.
I'll stick to my SC Barbarian for now..
