This. It's just a blob of blue with awful lines. It looks boring. And the amazing spider man costume is just too messy and busy. I don't like either. I'm also not a fan of Cap's costume in Avengers. It does it's job but I prefer the one in First Avenger. But they are both better than Supes or Spidey's.

That weird basketball texture works better on the Spidey costume, but I agree it's also too busy. The patterns don't need to be so complicated.
I think I just want the briefs back on my DC heroes. They were dumb, but taking them away just made all the costumes look worse.
I'm reminded of the complaints of Thor's costume in on-set photos during production. Let's wait and see what the final version looks like.

I liked that costume from the start, and hated the GL costume from the start. Man of Steel Supes is in the GL bracket.

Looks much better than the Routh outfit, although the designs on the side seem a little off.
GL suit was always CG garbage.
We didn't actually see Green Lantern's costume in on-set photos though. It's a completely different situation since lighting can definitely make or break the look of something.
Saw this for a third time today, in IMAX 3D - it didn't add anything to the experience (DAT ASS aside). Otherwise, this movie keeps on giving - still great. It was nice to watch the film with a tame crowd not laughing and hollering over everything. I finally got to hear "Puny God" and a few other things. Oh, and some people finally got the Point Break joke.
Most importantly, I saw Scarlett Johansson in IMAX 3D.

The trunks look just fine. There was no reason to get of them and it always looks like a knock off costume or something without them. The Man of Steel costume just happens to be the worst of the bunch.

I guess Hollywood has finally realized that male gaze is not enough to bring the cash in, and the supers from now on will be unashamedly female gaze eyecandy as well. Whoa there. Steve's commander suit is far and away cooler and more eye catching than Hawkeye's boring as hell suit.
For the record, I had no problem with how Cap looked in the movie, but I would love the commander suit realized on the big screen. They wouldn't even really need to change anything.

Exactly. Captain America without the America is just Captain. I'll wait till Avengers 4 when Secret Avengers is set up before wanting drastic suit changes.
I'm sure they look better in motion (positive about Spidey from the trailer, actually), but seeing these still frames of the new Supes/Spider-Man costume really makes me respect the way every character was decked out in the MCU. So many opportunities for total disaster averted.

Agreed. As much as you want these guys to look exactly like the source material, myself included, knowing that a little grounding in reality usually helps in achieving a non-garish presentation.
That said, I know that Hawkeye is rocking the black/red in the comics but yeah... the reddish-purple portion in the movie costume should've been purple for sure. Oh and Cap's helmet should've been a helmet while the hoody portion remained underneath it.

Given my own opinions and what seems to be the general consensus I'd say the worst thing about the movie is the clunky and slow first 30 or 40
minutes.
