Was flipping through the AH last night and honestly I can't believe how fucking garbage set and legendary items are. It's almost unbelievable. What the fuck happened to the unique items having unique properties? Buriza-Do Kyanon in D2 had 100% pierce rate and 100% level 3 freeze. It had these stats because it was fucking unique; it wasn't going to have the damage of a high-roll rare but it made you stop and think about whether the unique stats on the item could make up for it.
I bought a Buriza-Do Kyanon last night as a fun throwback to D2 (I played a fuckton of Amazons so I had one of these I passed around regularly). It has a 2.5% chance to freeze, and no pierce element. That freeze chance doesn't even work on anything except "primary" skills it seems, so it's even worse than it looks. What the fuck happened? How is this item any different than a rare, except for the fact that the rare can roll a hell of a lot higher DPS in this level range?
It's not just one item either, the entire legendary/set itemization has this problem. Fucking Windforce only has a 4-5% chance to knockback, which I'm sure doesn't work on most moves like Buriza-Do Kyanon's freeze to begin with. Tal Rasha's set was most offensive; the set bonuses for this shit were 3% Fire, Ice and Lightning damage. That's all of the bonuses, I mean sweet fuck who cares? When you completed Tal Rasha's set in D2 you actually got a huge payoff. It's like they took the shittiest element of D2's skill system - the tiny incremental upgrades you got from each point dumped into a single skill - and dumped it all over the legendary/set itemization in place of powerful and unique properties.
This is not good.
