[Ubi-Conf] Watch_Dogs Announced (Video/screens added) [Up: Xbox 360/PS3/PC]

Very happy to see that it's for the current generation of consoles, but I'm really eager to get it for the PC over the PS3.

For all the effort GTA makes to convince me I'm a sociopath, this fucking scene really messed with me.
The guy is crying because the driver (a completely innocent bystander) is dead to a crash *you* caused and you just throw his desperate ass out of the car and tell him to go away because I have to kill my target.
This is a fucking asshole and cruel protagonist right here. Kratos level of asshole.

Was thinking that while watching the demo.

lolz current-gen, if ports come out for current-gen it's gonna look like ass in comparison.

Regarding the controller:

Those huge shoulder buttons rule out the DS3, the 360 and Wii U Pro controller. It's a PC gamepad.

Yeah I will refuse to believe the game looks and runs like that on ps3 and 360 until I see it personally. And PC ports are never that much better looking. Something different is going on here, like Ubi focusing on extremely high end PCs first and porting to consoles later.

They're getting it ready for a cheap and easy port to next gen consoles, probably.

Well seeing as it's a current gen game that Ubi were just showing on PC, I guess my expectations were right in check.
Whether this is true or not, to expect more than this from the majority of next-gen titles is pretty ludicrous. The presentation of that demo gave me a similar feeling to that of the infamous Killzone PS3 target render, something that has yet to be achieved (in terms of animation and AI) this generation. It was all too slick, too perfect. I'm struggling to believe this game actually plays this well at all.

Only if these listings aren't updated tomorrow after Nintendo's conference. That is when people should start to worry. That's when I'll start to worry a LOT.

Ubi didn't wait till tomorrow to announce their other dozen Wii U games. It's most likely not coming.

You're thinking too much into it. While it's true that you are the guy who caused the accident you save him by telling him to stay on the floor to avoid bullets.

I do question this actually being PS3 footage though. PC sure. You can use PS3 controllers with PC games right or just 360 controllers?

No confirmations yet whether the footage shown on stage was off a console, I think its safe to say it was demoed on PC for now.

I have my suspensions about the game. Seems like they might have spent a lot of time making an incredible demo which could very well not be indicative of the game at all. The interaction with the guy in the car after the girl he was with gets shot felt oddly scripted. The concepts in play seem like they could run ahead of themselves. Currently in my mind another one of those "too good to be true" demos.

If you look at the character models I'd say that is some proof that this is current gen (the models themselves aren't anything special)

well, I agree, when i looked casually at the stream I thought it was Assassin's Creed 3 based on the models... but.. while the models may not be anything special, everything surrounding them was incredible and well beyond Assassin's Creed and other titles.

People thought this was next gen? I mean it's amazing to look at, so I understand it in that sense. But they wouldn't show a game for a system that hasn't been announced yet. That's crazy talk.

Just watched the two YouTube videos. I am very impressed. I see a lot of potential with this game. And Ubisoft could easily turn this into a franchise. The first game is set in Chicago while another is set in Pairs and another in Moscow. Each title could show unique perspectives of a similar topic. If Ubisoft is able to keep the Assassin Creed franchise going strong in quality then they could enter the next generation in a good position.

The crazy thing about this game is that, even if it was a single-player game, it would still be hard to believe for me. This is a fairly decent step up from something like even Uncharted 3 graphically and they want me to believe that this is an open world game?

I dunno man. I dunno. Looks too good to be true.

Was thinking that while watching the demo.

Won't be an issue as long as there is more than a single way to take a person down. If the car wreck/ensuing shootout is the only way to complete this mission it would be a minor letdown.

Although I think it looks superb (and cannot wait for it) it's not how I'd expect a next-gen game to look. Because of this I'm glad it's confirmed to be current-gen.

It is doing things that look better than current-gen however, so perhaps we were seeing it in action on the Wii U?

How sad that there's no Wii U version...I guess I'm going to end up buying a majority of multiplatform games on other consoles.

*sigh* I already said that I'd need next gen multiplats if I was getting a Wii U. How can I be sure about that if I can't even get current gen multiplat? This is depressing.

The game looks great, but I am impressed at the amount of people that thought it looked next-gen. It looked like a 360 or PS3 game from the low-res internet stream.
