[Ubi-Conf] Watch_Dogs Announced (Video/screens added) [Up: Xbox 360/PS3/PC]

Maybe they actually put the PS3 to it's limits with these type of graphics....?

But the controller was definitely Xbox looking.

Ubi would be the biggest tech wizard gods if that demo actually ran on PS3. Even if it actually was an extremely linear game the amount of detail is just too high for it to run this smoothly on current gen tech.

Was running on PC obviously

Yeah, Ubi-rig confirmed. Still looks like an amazing game no matter where you play it, though.

Late, but obviously they started development on PC using educated (with possible information from manufacturers?) guesses of what the target hardware would be for the next-gen consoles.

Or, hey, maybe it's just straight up a PC exclusive like the good old days!

(wishful thinking)
As the Ubisoft guy said in this very thread, it's coming to PS3 and 360.

Never on current gen consoles with this quality. For instance, Max Payne 3 looked amazing but never as good as this.

MP3 doesn't look good enough to wipe the ass of this game.

Individually-rendered rain droplets each affected by bokeh DOF. I said wat.

Awesome demo. Two things I didn't like though, too much violence and shooting and why does every gun in a video game hold like 10/120 bullets????

This whole scence could have been done with a gun with 6/0 bullets. Better yet, get rid of the thugs and use a better way to stop the car so you only need 1 bullet.

Maybe you are right. It's just that, wow, the guy in the car is actually trying and not wanting to get away when the protagonist pulls him out. As someone said, could be scripted, but for me it was the most powerful moment of the clip.
It says rescue near the door.

Trench Coat Man is the Bald Space Marine of the next generation.

Game looks absolutely spectacular, superb graphics, style, writing, pacing.

Only thing developers still need to nail is camera movement. Somehow that mathematically turning camera makes everything look more gamey than necessary.

For all the effort GTA makes to convince me I'm a sociopath, this fucking scene really messed with me.
The guy is crying because the driver (a completely innocent bystander) is dead to a crash *you* caused and you just throw his desperate ass out of the car and tell him to go away because I have to kill my target.
This is a fucking asshole and cruel protagonist right here. Kratos level of asshole.

If you go back and watch the video, the woman dies when the 3rd thug opens fire with his mac-10, spraying towards the player after you bullet time the first two. It's then you see the blood spray on the windshield, hear the impact and the guy screaming 'no, no'. The windshield is clean and intact before the 3rd guy opens fire.
You dont get blood on a windshield from a 35mph car crash

could be one of those cross-gen titles. ubi had GRAW and Splinter Cell Double Agent on any platform in existence in 2006. Don't think we will see Rainbow 6 Patriots again anytime soon either.

Regardless of whether it comes out on current gen consoles it would be smart to make it a next gen launch title if it's going to look like that

Trenchcoats are badass, so I'll take it

Seeing the reaction to this game makes me believe people are going to be blown away with what next-gen has to offer.

It's also hard to make a profit on a presumably really expensive game that's been in development for two years on new consoles. I don't think they would've shown the game if it was (mostly/solely) targeted at next gen, unless Sony announces PS4 later.

Same thing happened with Assasin Creed though right after PoP they went exploring for emergent gameplay plus if released at the right point people will buy it.

Also seen as it was using not only a PC game pad I think of the Razr type and no date, means it will a ways off.

Honestly, if impressive graphic presentation excites you, you should really do what you can to start gaming on PC. Then you don't have to worry about what compromises are needed to get games like this running on aging hardware.

Hey guys, is this running on the PS3? Man, this is going to look amazing on the current gen consoles! Isn't it, guys? Man, if only we knew what console it was running on.

Yeah, so the game looks great. Are there any thoughts on the actual gameplay?

For those wondering about the controller. I'm watching this video right now and it looks to me like the base of the joysticks have blue lights coming from them. I don't know what controller it is, but that might help.

I wonder if it'll be one of those generation straddling titles that's better on next gen or whatever, but also will be available for current gen users.

PRO TECH ANALYSIS:

Just kidding.

There's slightly TOO MUCH DETAIL for it to run on a PS3/X360/WiiU.
Think of this like a ULTRA SETTINGS PC VERSION.

IT WILL NOT LOOK THAT DETAILED ON CONSOLES

Ok, I interpreted the scene wrong, then. Sheesh. :p
*still*, c'mon, very good moment.

It's not just visuals, conceptually it also looks really cool. Seems a mix of Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed while doing its own thing at the same time.
