[MS-Conf] Forza Horizon - E3 2012 trailer

That is not a good reason. Is it because the Forza AI can't handle dead ends? Even still they could always pay homage to it without recreating it to every last detail.

That is a likely reason, I can see the AI cars staking up and getting stuck.

But as you said I would imagine there is an area that is similar.

Actually, in FM4 set a normal race on a drag strip to end with time and you'll see
a magnificent derp derp pile up of the patented Drivatar© AIs in the wall at the end of the stripe. Hilarious, especially with fast cars ! :lol

This is a demo impression from someone who claims to be a big fan of Forza, saying that the driving experience isn't as authentic as Forza 4. He said the Viper should be hard to control, after he turned off all assist but it wasnt.

But I play with all assist off and the Vipers are some of the easiest to control cars, so I dont know if he has used them in 4, but well have to wait and see.

Sorry short no pikes peak. Reason being they dont want any roads with dead ends.

Where did you hear this? It would be stupidly easy to still have PP and no dead ends. You would only need a simple turn around or some random off road to get you off. Smells like a load of bollocks to me.

He says he turned them all off

And this is part of the reason why. Every single outlet has said the assists were locked on and yet this guy had them off? Again, I smell bullshit. He doesn't even know the proper name of the car!

I try to buy 1 racing game a year since i'm not a mega racing guy, but it's going to be really hard to choose between Forza's big detailed world and Most Wanted's insane open world.

He said in the video he asked about pikes peak.

He said in the video he asked about pikes peak.

I will need more confirmation because he sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about for half that video. And I am okay with a fantasy version of Pikes Peak, especially if it goes back to the all dirt awesomeness of the old PP.

I know I sound grumpy, but I am trying to keep the hope alive!!!

Once he said Vipers should be hard to control with the assist off my Spidey sense went off. The Viper is an extremely drivable car with all the assist off in 4. So I dont know how many Vipers he has driven in the Forza series, but it would imply he hasnt driven many, but having not played the demo I cant comment on his assessment. I hope they give us a crack at it earlier then they did with F4 demo.

Haha.

And just now it sunk in - this is using Forza's AI? Well. Hopefully that works out better in this game somehow. I wouldn't use it as a selling point though.

Haven't you heard ?

I really like the Forza games, but their PR was always... over the top.
Better hit with facts this time - wish PGG had more to say here.

That race video kinda deflated me a lot from this game.. Forza4 physics my ass... getting points for wrecking tables and traffic signs? wat?...

Have you not watched any of the videos posted before?

And why are you saying the physics are crap now?

Your post is mind bottling.

as if wrecking stuff has to do with the physics simulation of the car driving on a surface

Looking forward to this.

Looks really good, a nice change of pace from the Forza Motorsport games.

Wait... are people still thinking this ISN'T an arcade racer?
Doesn't getting points for smashing picnic tables kinda give it away?
FM: sim
FH: arcade

The footage looks fine to me - I'm not expecting anything other than fun gameplay and solid graphics.

Well, the developers aren't calling it an arcade racer, so why should we believe that it is? And your argument doesn't make any sense. You get points for knocking over bowling pins and scoring soccer goals in FM4, and it's still a sim racer.

I was just thinking. I know they said that they chose cars according to their relevance in a music event or whatever, but seriously, who's to say what's relevant or not?
I mean, one man's dream car is another man's nightmare right?

Could they have just used most cars from FM4 IF they wanted to?

Car shows, events, social gatherings etc include so many different cars from the quirky to the mainstream. It seems that Horizon isn't going to include 'lower end' cars going by what Ralph Fulton has said..

Honestly wont miss the lower end cars in this situation.

Yes, Ferrari has been confirmed. At least the California is in.

Saladine, I don't think we'll necessarily see the end of lower end cars. We're almost sure that the original Mini will be in the game, it's not exactly fast by today's standard. The way I see it, I think we'll get "mainstream" iconic cars (M3 E30, Quattro, original Mini, etc...), "mainstream" supercars (Viper, hopefully remodeled Enzo Ferrari, Ford GT, etc...), "mainstream" imports (RX7, R34, R35, etc...), probably some ridiculous or out of the ordinary cars (Aston Martin Cygnet, Fisker Karma, etc...) and most likely the rally cars or cars that can be converted to rally cars seen in FM4 (Quattro S1, Monster SX4, "normal" SX4, Celica ST185, etc...).
Basically, I don't see shitboxes like the Pinto making the cut for example, all the race cars will be gone and the car list should be the best of best.

I mean, they have to give us the option in FH to take that Safari rally ST185 out on the dirt :

I've been mostly quick racing in the past few months.
Looks like that's going to change soon
