Windows Central: Forza Horizon 6 to be announced at TGS this year

I hope that 6 will be better organized than 5. When I booted it up on ps5, I genuienly didnt understood what races belong with which, what do i need to progress etc.

I, for one, cannot wait to take drift assignments from "Takeo", a Nigerian-born immigrant with a bionic leg and pride stickers on his car.

One can wish that they drop the whole festival crap and just make a proper open world racing game, with clubs and car gangs to race against, starting from 0 and going to hero.

But i'm pretty sure nothing is going to change and it's going to be another "participation trophy" game again. If I am wrong I will gladly eat my words, roll on TGS.
 
Ah, another installment of "big franchise finally pulls the trigger on a Japanese setting after fans have been begging for it for the past few entires."

With that said, I'm happy they're finally doing it but they need to change a lot about this games personality and structure for it to be exciting. FH4 should've been Japan.

Will be thee day one if it's on PS5 as I sold my Xbox when they went multiplatform.

Forza Horizon 2 in Southern Europe will be hard to beat. I still liked Great Britain better than Mexico, but Japan could take 1st if done properly.
 
Hope it's all true, Japan has been one of the places I've wanted most for this kind of game, especially the countryside.

Yeah, FH5 is an absolute mess. Personally it's the weakest in the series despite the reviews. It's all to satisfy the ADHD and GP audience where they need you to have $1M and 10 cars in the first hour.

Hell they used to make you choose a car at the beginning and now they give you the illusion of choice but actually just shove all the cars in your garage instantly. The events are also all just watered down versions of things they have already done and they've basically lost all of their extravagance. Don't even get me started on the dogshit characters and writing. Even the setting is essentially just a rehashed Australia with worse car culture (no offense to any Mexicans here, but when you hear car culture Mexico isn't really anywhere close to the top of the list IMO as somebody that has been involved in car culture for nearly 2 decades and been into cars for even longer).

I've posted this video before but I figure it belongs here too.

Physics is one of the few things that FH5 essentially has perfected for the type of game it is. Motorsport physics do not belong in the type of game that Horizon is. Completely different type of games.

FH5 absolutely. FH4 I disagree though at least to a point. I do think a lot of the progression issues started with 4 but it was still much better. Personally I think 5 and 2 are thew worst.

There's a reason 1 and 3 are by far the best games in the franchise and a huge reason of that is both not being dumbed down to extreme levels with horrible progression systems.

I've always said it and I'll say it again, the reason this happened with 4 and 5 was due to Game Pass and the new audience created with both games being available there.

So much of what made 1 and 3 so great just didn't exist in 4 and 5.

Yeah, it really turned into a joke of a racing game made to appeal to anyone who doesn't even understand what the thrill of racing is all about.

DriveClub's Venom Hot Lap alone shits all over Forza Horizon 5.
 
I won't be buying it but not because it's a bad game, I'm just not into racing games. I do think it would be a mistake to do timed exclusivity at this point though, they are selling a lot of copies of the previous game on PS5, why wait to make that money on the sequel?

Who says anything about timed exclusivity?
I don't think they'll do anything like that. Probably gonna be day and date release.
 
The only racing game series I actually give a fuck about today. Cannot wait for this game. Love all of them in the series. Can't see this being any different. And the Japan setting?! Pure perfection.
 
Ngl, I bought FH5 on PS5 and to my surprise, I much prefer and have way more fun with motorfest. After 10hrs or so, I just find forza 5 boring.
I'm interested in the New setting though.

2 was a bit lacklustre at first but the F&F and Porsche dlc made up for it.
 
They need to change the formula up. Clean up the car selection, fix the progression and do something interesting with the story.

Getting a supercar in the first hour isn't fun, thats supposed to be a reward for later. You need to be working towards a certain supercar you adore. Let us drive the shitbuckets, tune them up. Free roam doesn't do it for me with these games. There is no reason to actually be first because everyone gets a participation trophy.

Another festival based story will make me puke. Oh yeah, let's have this random ass dude be the main character of the festival. Fucking nickelodeon ass writing.

Imo there are too many 'old' cars in the game, these are clearly reused assets. We need some new whips. Remove 25% of the current list and add some modern cars (no electric pls). Update the driving physics while you're at it. And stop fucking locking cars behind goddamn weeks in seasons, let me buy these fucking cars whenever possible. I don't have the time to play EVERY fucking week.

Japan is great, but a cool map isn't enough. UK and Mexico were great locations, but the gameplay wasn't enough for me to enjoy the map at the fullest potential.

Day one for me for sure. FH5 has been my favorite to date. Though I want them to remove all the wheel spin clothing and the shitty characters.

Take away the blur and you could see how bad the trees look. Motorsport looks nice otherwise, but the difference is jarring when you are able to play at high resolutions and max settings.
