Hope there is another space minifig.

Alright, let's get this party started :P
Assuming the cases are around the same size (60 packs), should contain 4 full sets with some extras. Right?
I'm an American (in california) Looking for 2 or 3 others in NA to split a case with. I'd prefer other GAFers
I think we should start planning now.

Got the last minifig that I was missing from serie 6 and picked up a few of series 7 (they have only been available for a week here) so the wife and I decided to do a little census

I regret so much not picking more minifigs from S1 and S2 :P

I am tempted. How much would it split per person? And where do you live? Getting all the figs at once would be nice, but it does take away the thrill of the hunt for the figures.

And on that note: Damn! Series 7 just hit. Give it time to breathe. They release these things really fast.

Sure, I'll join in the party.

Each case contains 60 bags, so only 3 complete sets + spares. I'd be in california (davis) next september so I'd love to split a case

Makes me want to make a non riot/crowd scene. Just casually line up all the mini figs I have for one glorious group shot.

Think I will do that now, then finish the first floor on the Cafe MOC.

Yes, please! I don't really do the minifig thing, but it's cool to see the collection some of you guys have amassed!

Is the LEGO Store set you get during a LEGO Store Grand Opening limited to 1 per customer or 1 per $35 spent?

During the Wisconsin opening it was one set per "family" when you spent $35 dollars.

I don't know what the shipping etc is like to the US but lately I've been buying complete sets from this one seller in Germany, I get a complete set for $37-40 plus postage.

I usually buy several and sell them off on ebay and other sources in Australia, works out to be about $60 including postage from Germany and then postage to the buyer within Australia, I will be doing the same for series 8 and any future series if anyone on here is interested. Works out to be about $3.75 AUD per minifig. Much cheaper than the local RRP of $4.95 or even the sale prices of $3.95, and you'll know you'll get a complete set every time.

Speaking of collectible minifigs, I frames all seven series in the ikea frames last night, will post pictures when I get a chance.

Ooops, for some reason I was thinking the sets were 12 figs. But yeah, they are 16.
I'm glad we have a lot of interest :) Keep your eyes on this thread, when we get a little closer to release we'll figure it out. I hope they show off the figs at Comic-Con

Eurobricks always has a review thread dedicated to each series where one lucky bastard seems to always get a whole box early and gives you the breakdown of how many sets per box (pretty much always 3 sets) and detailing what spares are left in every box, for you guys in the US looking to get a whole box together that will give you a good way to figure out how you're going to split the spares.

I've always had a fascination with haunted houses...I keep imagining how I'm going to mod this set and display it every Halloween.

I think it should have been less green and darker, and there definitely should be more interesting things on the exterior, but overall it looks like a great design.

Let's see how it holds up when compared to some awesome looking haunted houses:

Yeah I was a little disappointed by the green, I initially thought it was grey based on the designer video where it was sitting in the corner.

I think grey may have been a bit boring but I think sand blue may have been a nice choice instead, and it's different from the green grocer which is sand green too.

BAH! Trying to upload my pics of all my minifigs lined up and accounted for, and IMGUR is down for the moment. LAME!

Anyways, right now, I am at 158 minifigs (two droids still in the fighters), and one dog. I would have more, but I am missing lots of pieces from random figs from the 80s, as well as all my old school horses from the 80s.

Will have the pics up as soon as Imgur is back and working.

Okay, that is weird. Imgur would not work on Chrome, but works perfectly on Safari. WTF?

Anyways, minifig army pics!
158 minifigs (some hybrids in there. I know I am missing A LOT of figures. Like all my Blacktron 2 and M Tron stuff, and most of my Pirates figures.) 2 figures not in the pic, but in the total, are two astromech droids still in their Rebel Alliance fighters.

I feel very old knowing that many of the figures in this picture, along with many of the baseplates, are older than many posters here on GAF.

I knew that last pic would trigger some nostalgia overload for us older GAFfers.

Also, original Blacktron minifigs are the coolest space minifigs ever. I just love the design on the body, and the opaque visors.

damn it don't say I'm an old gafer :p, but gut I too have many of those old Minifigs and one of those lunar baseplates ...

I'll help you with my original post, maybe more from Europe would like to join too for the future series

jointly ordering a complete Box of Series 8 Minifigs

So the idea is to order a complete box of 60 Minifigs for Series 8, they are then cheaper and one doesn't have to feel out the bags.
Now from all the Information we have, one gets 3 complete sets from a box and a few random extras.

So I am looking for 2 fellow LEGOgaf Members who would like to share in the endeavor.
I would order the complete box, sort out the 3 complete sets and we can decide what to do with the extras later (ie distribute them randomly among us or something like that)

We divide the cost of the order by three and well the other two have to additionally pay the shipping from me to them.
I am located in Germany, so you can roughly estimate how much the postage will cost you.
Residents of germany will inadvertently pay less postage than australians...

A new sealed box from Bircklink usually goes for arround 100-120€ in EU.

If many people are interested we might be able to split the whole thing up into regional joint order groups of three.

I would keep this post updated with people who are interested. so please indicate your location for possible grouping.

Well I'm from England so I could join in. Might help save some hassle getting the figures I want even if I usually only go for a selection rather than the whole lot.

I'll see when the figures are revealed.

What are those black police looking ones on the front left?
Blacktron V1.

Looks like we have a fair bit of interest on the NA side. Unless people want to splinter off into groups, maybe we should order multiple cases as determined by the number of parties interested. This way we might be able to assemble more full sets. Hopefully those early birds across the pond will get some cases before the order and we can have a better idea of what the breakdown of a case will be like.

I'm not sure what people would prefer: extra minifigs or a lower price-per-person since more sets would let us spread the cost more.

Heh, I remember when those came out, but I never had the sets that they came in. I was more interested in the ships. :)

@wetwired Love it! I'm particularly keen on the fact that I can actually SEE all the minifigs in a reasonably compact presentation the way you've done it.

i love it too, totally going to do that :)
is the ocean king in s7 just balancing on the end of the brick because his relative depth?

Yeah he is pretty sturdy though, I had to do a few tricks for some of them to get them to fit in, like the lizardman, his tail is quite long so I have a 2x3 plate on top of the inverted slope so he'll fit, even then I had to turn the head slightly as well.

The ice skaters were blu tacked to the back as well. I really wanted to have the surfboarder/snowboarders holding their boards vertically but I just couldn't fit them in without it colliding with the glass.

For my huge display Ribba I had pretty much the same problems ;)

But Ive been planing to break it down to the separate series for a while now.
I'll probably end up doing it the same way you have.
its gorgeous.

Yeah I was *this* close to going with the bigger frames, but I figured individually it gives a nice separation for each series and it allows for easy expansion with future series.

I'm planning on doing more for non collectibles, Batman minifiguress ,I want to do at least 1 for indiana jones minifigs, probably 1 row in a frame dedicated to each movie (though thinking about it now I forgot crystal skull, may need to rethink that or do more than 1 frame)

One for Pirates of the Caribbean minifigs (I don't like the movies outside of the first one but the minifigs are pretty cool)

I'm thinking of expanding into star wars too, 1 row or even one frame dedicated to the main characters of each of the 3 original films.

On top of that my more immediate plan is to do my 4 ghostbusters, the keymaser, the gatekeeper, slimer and a little stay puff marshmellowman in one single frame. I'm tempted to do more TDK trilogy characters, scarecrow, raz, catwoman, gordon etc.

Probably should have gone for the whole of series one since you just had to match barcodes for those, but I got the ones I wanted so I'm happy.

Wanted the judo champ (or Segata Sanshiro as I like to call him) but at least I got the Mexican which was my S2 priority.

The black and white house is insane. I remember when I read about it in one of those community published magazines a long while back. At first glance, you have NO way of knowing that's a LEGO creation.

just ignore the crystal skull :p

Speaking of minifigs, when I went through all my collectible and other minifigs for the frames I have spares of some, I'm willing to trade for LOTR, Batman, Indiana Jones, POTC or Star Wars OT mini figs (not going to list all of them, just PM me or something if you're interested and what you've got. Would be willing to sell instead of trade as well.

EDIT > ADDED A COUPLE MORE I JUST FOUND IN BOLD

3x S1 Zombies
3x S2 Mimes
1x S2 Mexican
4x S2 Spartan Soldiers
1x S4 Sailor
2x S4 Hazmat guys
1x S4 Werewolf
2x S4 Musketeers
1x S5 Female Zookeeper with Monkey
1x S5 Boxer
2x S5 Cowboy Bandit

On top of those I have these other minifigs

Indiana Jones (Numerous)
2x Promo Hulk
1x Frodo (Weathertop)
2x Avengers Aliens and vehicle (from the Captain America Set)
Also if anyone was interested I have the parts to make a second custom TDKR Bane.

It also reminds me of the first Technic set I ever got as a kid, which was the desert racer. I don't think I got all the parts, though, as I probably got it used from someone.

Oh wow. I got that when it was first released, assembled it and never touched it again.

I'm fairly certain this has remained built for 29 years. I am old.

Right now all of our Lego is sitting in my (partially finished) workroom. The next few weeks will likely yield Olivia's House, Cafe Corner & Fire Brigade so I think it's time to add some display shelving to one of the nicer finished rooms in the basement. I'll post pics if I come up with anything decent.
