PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

EU and NA don't have all the same games.

But they probably will in the future i.e. Trine 2. So if you are disappointed that you don't see a game you want, and you have plus in either region, I wouldn't buy it unless you want that instant gratification feeling. I lost $15 of my money because of Trine 2 that I'm still trying to get over. :(

Also, it never hurts to make your voice heard on the PSBlog (in the weekly store update post of course). Tell them what you want in Plus. I know SCEE listen to feedback; i'm sure SCEA must do too, in some way or other.

I cant believe I never played Just Cause 2 before. Fuck that game is great.

Man, this a million times. I have sunk almost 20 hours into the game over the course of 3 days. I feel bad not actually buying this game for full price when it first came out, one of the best games I've played in a long time. Sad part is I played the demo back then and but couldn't get a handle of parachute controls and just gave up minutes in, stupid me!

Agreed! I bought it for $15 the week before it was free (and put 20+ hours in) and wasn't even mad about it.

I'm so glad I downloaded Darksiders and gave it another chance. I only played for about an hour before trading it in when it first came out, but I'm loving it this time. Great game.

hmmm, should i test it by downloading something else

it´s hard to test.. it probably is a bad sector on your drive.. you could do the math.. inFamous 2 is 14Gb LBP2 is 6Gb .. one stops at 19% the other at 30%.. it sounds like it stops at the same sector everytime..

Mines 320gb :/ did you format it on the playstation itself, or did you take it out and hook it up to a pc to do it.

I did it on the PS3.. it is probably alot faster to take out and do it on a PC ... But I did not have that option at the time.. I just ended up swapping HDD.

Has anybody else encountered a problem where downloads stop every time at the same percentage, I'm contemplating ringing sony about it.

Had that with Infamous when I was downloading in the background. Let it download while active and it worked. Not sure what the problem was though.

Well resigned up for PS+, its just too good of a deal to pass up. I can only dl and install a couple of games though at this time cause I have just a crappy 40gb, but I'm upgrading to a 320gb drive next month. Can't wait to see what else they add in the coming months.

I added everything to my download list but I have to upgrade my HDD before I can download everything else. My 250gb HDD is full.

Is there any way to tell the download size of something before you download it?

In the detail view for the game; it should be listed at the bottom of the wall of text.

It happened to me a few times, in my case it was a corrupted download. Either due to my internet dropping or a power cut, a redownload solves the issue.

What is the thinking behind that??

I have no clue why they do it that way. perhaps it's a weird limitation with the full game trails where they ran into issues if it checked to see if you owned it before the hour was up. Hopefully if plus continues onto the ps4 such a thing won't be there.

So do we have any indication that we'll be getting something new tomorrow? Or is this just a monthly or (*gulp*) every 4 month thing?

I have no clue if we will get something new tomorrow, but given the last few months of plus we will likely see at least a discount or avatar or something.

as for new games they have said we will get 3 new ones every month replacing 3 of the currently available ones (aka at any given point there will be 12 games for signing up for plus if you weren't a plus member before)

'purchase' but don't download the current free stuff.

It will still be in your list and downloadable for free once you get the new HDD.

They change two at a time. Hence, "in pairs".

Ooooh now it makes sense. I was actually wondering how they are going to keep it up if they had to refresh all this content every month. Changing just two of the major games only makes sense. Smart way to implement this actually

Yeah, the idea is that there are always 10 free games available, no matter when you start.

I read the update again...

The "Game of The Month" changes once per month

Three games are there for one whole year (LittleBigPlanet 2, InFamous 2, and Motorstorm Apocalypse (In Europe))

The other 6 games (8 in the US) change 2 at a time.

Oh ok so that's what they meant. Sony did a really poor job explaining how that worked. At first they made it seem like these 12 games we got is all we'd get until 16 weeks later when they rotated. 3 new games a month is more like what we used to get unless they're all blu ray games. I don't mind that system at all.

Does anyone know if Sony compensates the developers for having their game be free for the time it is on PS+? I feel a little bad for enjoying these games, but not giving any money to the developers directly. To be honest I probably would not have played them without them being on PS+ though so that is something.

Probably some kind of lump-sum payment. They also get increased promotion on he Playstation Blogs, on the "What's New" section of the XMB, and in the Playstation Store. I'd guess it works out pretty well for them.

So what games do people want to see next month? I'm hoping for Limbo.

Enjoyed the trial but not enough to buy the game, wouldn't mind bagging that.

I'm pulling for The GoW Origins games or the PoP HD remasters.

Stuff I'm interested in, but would never buy.

nope it sounds like it will still be for the most part the same old plus, just now they are giving more rewards for new subs without screwing over old subs. I think they are aiming to please the people who seem to only want to buy plus if it gives them more than a $50 value in the first month even though that $50 would cover them for the year.

I am really hoping for Moon Diver, it came out around the same time as hard corps but so far it hasn't even gone on sale while hard corps has gone on sale once and now is given away for free :/

Also, if we are going absolute dream release... Warriors Orchi 3. I really hate the fact that it is digital only on the ps3 in NA thus I refuse to buy it for the PS3 (I will likely just buy the 360 version down the line) but if I got it for free from plus, that whole digital only thing wouldn't bother me so much lol.

also of note if limbo is what you want to play, if you have a pc that can run games it's still pay what you want over on the humble bundle.

I wonder if I should buy a 3 month card in hopes they have a sale or just bite the bullet and buy a full year for the free games. :/

Edit: Wait, you won't lose access when it rotates, you just can't download from the store like every other piece of content right? So you keep it as long as you have plus?

No you do lose access. If you go into the info of the downloaded and installed game it'll say something like "Available until:". Although I've never let my PS+ subscription run out to be sure.

Oh man I hope they don't do Warrior's Orochi until maybe November or December. I just bought it 2 days ago lol. But yeah I don't think they'll give away any new or very recent releases with this, just older games no one cares about but trophy whores anymore. Which is ok with me.

I expected a new sale from E3, it didn't happen. I think their 12 games in one go thing is their big thing to get new members this time, so a sale on top of that isn't to likely.

I luckily have the option to wait still as my sub isn't up until march.

I might just try to snag a cheap one on ebay as the price is still down a bit from the whole Target selling a year of plus for $17.99 ad misprint. Plus it seems like the cards they gave away at E3 are floating around on ebay right now as well. The issue there of course is finding a good seller.

On a different note though, if you see yourself enjoying plus for a while, getting a year isn't a bad idea, as if they do go on sale you can just buy more on sale, as it will just tack onto the end of your sub.

If you let your sub lapse you will lose access to the games, but as soon as you sub up again you should regain access to any game you got with playstation plus. The new games are the same as the old, as long as you download them while they are available you will have access while you are subbed even if they aren't currently available

I doubt they will give out really recent games, but maybe a sale on Orochi. Either way November/December would be a horrible time for it to get released for free as Pirate Warriors comes out around that time. Of course maybe it won't be a horrible time as there is a good chance I will just import that from EU since it still looks like NA won't be getting a physical release of that.

Ya, what I thought too. I hate buying codes on ebay though, I'm too afraid of getting scammed on stuff like that. Maybe I'll just breakdown and buy it.

Ya, the minis and ps1 games should. There was some glitch that is wasn't working for some but it's meant to. I just wasn't sure if it was different restrictions on these since they're full PS3 games and thought maybe when they rotate they also expire so you don't have a huge PS3 log of games for free for almost forever.
