That's the problem with funding games and not owning the IP. I personally think it's a flawed practice.

The pub fund is a gamble, of course, but they needed to do something to get developers to look at going PS3 exclusive. And while it sucks for Joe Danger, it's worked out pretty damn well for the relationship that Drinkbox (Mutant Blobs, Guacamelee) has fostered.

You win some you lose some...

The odd thing to me about going XBLA exclusive for Joe Danger 2 is looking at the leaderboards on the 360 I don't think Joe Danger 1 did all that well. Annnnnnd, why go exclusive on the system that has Trials HD/Evolution? I know they aren't exactly the same game type, but they are close.

I just got gravity rush today by taking advantage of futureshop's trade 1 game, get it free deal, so it is veeeeeeery tempting to go to toys r us right now......hot shots golf is that good? *wants to be convinced*

And no, I'm in Canada.

Hot Shots Golf is that good.

It's not the prettiest game on the system but the gameplay is great. The single player mode is huge. But really, the best part of the whole thing is the daily online tournaments. You don't need to be online the whole time, just long enough to get what course it is. Then you play and upload your score and the following day you see how you did vs the world or vs your friends list.

And the normal online play is also a blast.

Best bang for your buck on the system, hands down.

Hot Shot's Golf is like crack. It really is. The amount of unlockables and everything, as well as glorious online and daily tourneys, make the game perfect. I'm hoping for some DLC courses and characters, too!

I went on Friday of last week and got around 11 games total. I also picked up a charging cradle and a carrying case. Accessories were 50% too.

What I found and picked up:
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (Vita) - $15
Rayman Origins (Vita) - $20

Did you happen to buy the last UMVC3 Vita? I just called and they said some guy just came in 20 mins ago and bought like 20 games for the vita rofl.

Would anyone happen to know if MGS HD is cheaper on the PSN store like Gravity Rush is?

I believe this is Konami's first Vita game. Right? Or am I having a brain fart? So looking for prior games as a sign doesn't help.

I haven't seen a post on the blog or anything with the price.

If I know Konami it isn't. But, of course, we would all love to be surprised.

Hmmmm you guys have pretty much convinced me about Hot Shots.....now the final hurdle is deciding what size memory card to get....4gb is out, 32gb is out as I'm not spending that much....memory cards are on sale at futureshop right now, $24.99 for 8gb, $49.99 for 16gb.......I already have escape plan and motorstorm downloaded to my ps3, and plan to get mutant blobs....8gb should tide me over for a while if I don't plan to buy retail titles, eh?

I'm doing pretty well with an 8 gig. If you're content picking up the full Vita games via physical copies rather than the store, it will last a while. Until PSone Classics get released, that is.

Another option has presented itself.....someone on kijiji has a vita with 4gb card, uncharted and hot shots golf....she was asking $275, but she knocked it down to $220 when I told her the toys r us deal.......I am very wary about buying used, but how old can it be, right? :P So I'd basically be getting $350 worth of stuff for $220....hmmmm

Not sure if this has been posted.

I bought the 16gb from amazon. It's on sale for 37 bucks plus shipping.

Thanks, but I'm in Canada, it's not on sale here for that price....amazon.ca is $49.99 for 16gb, just like futureshop......I think I'll go with 8gb for now and wait for a better sale/price drop to upgrade.....and I think I'll go with the new system versus the used, being as I'd still have to buy a better memory card for it and I don't trust used systems. :P Thanks for helping me work this out, guys! ;)

Personally, I would go with the MGS collection over Resistance Burning Skies. Haven't heard very many nice things about the latter title.

Decided to cancel my Amazon order. Had my Wii unplugged for a long time, and xbox hasn't been used for a long time as well.

Made the decision to see the value on Amazon, then went to Gamestop. Amazon showed $190 for trade in, Gamestop gave $288 for my 2 systems and like the 4 games I had for each, along with accessories.

Used that and got my new Vita along with 16gb card, MLB 12 The Show, Hori protector + $50 gift card.

I'm happy with that.

Very nice!

Are you fucking kidding me?

I'm assuming booth guy here didn't really have much of a clue. 12 games a quarter? That means they might catch up with the current PSone Classics available for purchase some time in the next decade.

I just bit the bullet on a 32GB last night on amazon for $81. Knowing my luck, they'll probably drop to $70-some now.

On well. Gravity Rush just got delivered. Now I just have to wait til I get off work.

Awesome. Enjoy the vita and games. :D

So I read that the 3ds may not be optimal for playing ds games (as it makes them look worse). How is this with the VITA and psp games?

In my experience, the OLED screen makes them look better and more vibrant.

But then, I hadn't played a PSP for over a year before I started Ys I&II on my Vita.

It's an improvement in pretty much every way, as far as I've experienced. The dual joysticks made any third or first person game from the PSP handle a lot better (including Ghostbusters for PSP, which was only $5 thankfully). The "upscaling" makes everything look a bit nicer too.

Not that I've done a side-by-side comparison or anything, but in my experience, the Vita is the ideal way of playing PSP games. The OLED really does make a difference and having a second stick for certain games is just great.

Can't decide between GR and MGS. What does GAF think?

Gravity Rush. MGS looks great, but it's available on the PS3 for less. At the very least, wait until it's $30.

I think NDS games look fine on the 3DS. Apparently the 3DS also has a better sound chip. Just turn off the power saving mode and turn down the brightness a notch or two.

Edit: It's also nice to be able to keep track of your playing time with the Activity Log. Really wish the Vita had an equivalent app.

I caved during lunch and picked up MGS. Could wait for it to come on the PSN store. Looks pretty damn amazing and as others have said, having MGS available anytime > *
