The current 3DS library is easily as bad as the Vita's if not arguably worse, the difference is the 3DS actually has upcoming games and a life ahead of it. =/
I can't think anything on the Vita that's upcoming that I really want besides Ys, sadly.
I agree with him, but it's purely a matter of taste. This isn't a 3DS vs. Vita thread though.I think you're quite alone on that opinion.
And now I have an urge to stick a retro Sonic sticker on the blue one I'm getting. It'd make it look more mature that way, am I right?Hmmmmm
NINTENDO MADE SONIC GAME CONFIRMED!
I hope Nintendo get demo units into the few remaining GAME stores, or HMV, before launch, I really want to take a look myself.
I didn't realise Nintendo were doing digital downloads. But because there is no concept of an account, the games will be locked to the 3DS you download them to, right? If so that's a shame, especially with family households having multiple DSes in the house
It's one of the big reasons I'm considering waiting on Unchained Blades, because proper account support means it'll actually be safe to buy on 3DS whereas right now PSN looks preferable. From what I understand, an account system is coming. I dont think anyone knows anything more concrete than that but, hopefully, it will arrive when Nintendo start doing full retail game downloads, and be similar to XBL and PSN. You never know though.

Though I may still jump for it on PSN because it's a sure thing.
tempting as hell!
how important is the other analog thingy on the og 3ds?

I see what you did there, Nintendo.
You serious? The current 3DS library is easily as bad as the Vita's if not arguably worse, the difference is the 3DS actually has upcoming games and a life ahead of it. =/

Even if you're comparing personal taste, this statement is just downright ridiculous.
If you only have 4 3DS games up to this point in its lifespan you're doing it wrong. Why is it ridiculous when taking personal taste into account? I own a Vita with 7 retail games that I enjoy playing. I own a 3DS with 3 retail games and one downloadable game. The main reason I'm getting a 3DS XL is because the future release list appears to favor Nintendo in a big way, but up to this point the 3DS has been a disaster for me whereas the Vita's been pretty good. If the 3DS wasn't backwards compatible, I don't think I'd ever use it.
I plan to buy a 3DS XL day one together with the three games the system has to offer that I'm interested in. Taste differs and for someone like myself who mostly want the system for third-party RPGs, there aren't that many appealing games for it at the moment. If you only have 4 3DS games up to this point in its lifespan you're doing it wrong.

You should have more than four games in just downloadable titles alone.
I want to switch to the 3DS XL from my 3DS, but how can I save all my stuff that is on the SD card? Do I just copy the contents to my PC?
There's no need. You need to go through the System Transfer process and then use the same SD on the 3DS XL.
This isn't good advice. Doing so would lose you two gigs of space since the XL comes with a 4 gig card. Do the transfer of system data and licenses, and then copy the contents of the card to a pc and then copy from the PC to the bigger card and use it in the XL.
that's understandable.I only have one, Mario Land, and I've had my system since Christmas. I want Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, and OoT. I just don't have the money or time to spend on that stuff right now.
Ah, that's a good point. I was thinking about my 32GB card, I didn't think of that.

The main reasons I'm getting a 3DS XL is because the future release list appears to favor Nintendo in a big way and the bump in screen size means I'll finally enjoy Mario Kart, Zelda, and SML (and hopefully Zen Pinball), but up to this point the 3DS has been a disaster for me whereas the Vita's been pretty good. Can't you just stick the bigger card in the XL and bypass the whole pc side of things? From what I understand. The transfer makes a clone of your old system in the new system then deletes all original content from your old ds. No need to copy games to a pc as they copy to the new system as well. This isn't good advice. Doing so would lose you two gigs of space since the XL comes with a 4 gig card. *grumble grumble shrug*wat? i only have 2 games and one of it i didn't even wanted... and that's by choice not because i don't have money.
You know personal taste and stuff...
Thank you both! I will trade it in for a 3DS XL at the evil company, so I will not have my 3DS anymore before the XL launches. This isn't good advice. Well Herod that's just superfluously unintuitive, though expected. The transfer is just for the licensed software locked to your old system.
you need both systems present to do the system transfer.

System transfer would be rendered useless with an actual account system. Why don't we have one of those yet?not really, it's just weirdly worded.
when you 'transfer' stuff, it really just transfers your 'license' over.
So you pretty much just do the transfer thing, then you take out the SD card from the old and stick it in the new.
that's it.
