Whats the end credits song?

Fuck Raimi for using Nickelback

I'm not sure what the ending credits song is supposed to be, since I've only seen the movie in Japan. I wish they hadn't done that, but at least it was after the movie had ended.

Sorry to split hairs, but that wasn't actually Nickelback if I remember correctly. It was just the singer with some guys from other bands.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, I'd love Chameleon to make it into TASM 2 in any regard and frame Spidey for a crime. Still early enough in his career where the majority of the public aren't on his side. Then with Chameleon you could also have Kraven. Them being half-brothers and all.

I wish one of these movies would throw in Shocker, even if only for him to get owned in the first 5 minutes.

I've always thought a Spidey sequel should have an intro sequence of taking down a baddie from the comics that doesn't deserve a whole movie. Someone like Shocker would be perfect.

Morbius might happen. Got to cash in on Vampires while they're still in.

Well, I think Morbius made it into the tie-in game. Michael Morbius if I recall, but I think they just mentioned him being a scientist. Of course, given the nature of games, I'm sure he transforms at some point. Speaking of Morbius in games, anyone remember him in the Spider-man 3 tie in game?

edit: So, IGN just put up their review. Gave it a 6/10. Basically problems with it being a reboot, feeling the same as the Raimi films story wise, and a ton of nitpicks that seem to have been dispelled in other reviews. It was reviewed by Scott Collura.

I am so glad that is a sentence I will never ever have to say in my life (no offense).

BTW - Emma Stone was just on Fallon and I wanna marry her. She's adorable and looks like she'd be so much fun to hang out with.

Reviews that knock on the movie since its a reboot is stupid. We all knew its a reboot since it was announced.

Can't they just review the film on its own?

Funny how the last two rotten reviews from Hitfix (McWeeny) and IGN both can't seem to get over the fact that it's a reboot. You can be sure plenty of idiots will keep doing this once movie is out.

As soon as the movie began, I completely forgot about the Raimi movies, it is so much better here, the tone is completely different, it's more grounded, action is better, acting is leagues ahead, music is better, 3D is great and enhances the experience.

There is just so much to like.

Haven't seen the movie yet so I don't know Webb's competencies with the franchise (assuming he is attached to the sequels), but I will say that I would love to see Kraven in a Spider-Man movie. He has one of the most interesting stories and motivations in the Spidey's rogue galleries and I'd love to see his character be done right.

However for a Kraven film to be done right, it would essentially be a thriller/chase film along the lines of the first Terminator. Unfortunately I don't see that kind of film being green-lit as a Spider-Man sequel.

There's starting to be a LOT of posters around the city, seems like they're really marketing this. There's also tv spots for the movie here now, though I have only seen it once but I don't watch tv much.

That's why I think they will do it. Vampires are popular, and while they are Sony would do well to cash in with Morbius. His character and history are interesting anyway so fans wouldn't be bothered that he is a vampire.

I'm sorry, but if the criticisms of it being a reboot relate to it not changing it up enough from what we've already seen, then it's a perfectly valid complaint. Outside of that I will agree that it's nitpicking, but you can't dismiss any criticism that points out stale narrative points.

I haven't read the reviews (want to go into the film unfettered), so they might indeed be nitpicking.

Vampires in a SM movie would be weird for the majority of people, and most would assume it's just a twilight play and nothing more (not realizing the source material).

Kraven is too boring to sustain a full movie imo, not enough 'super'. I think Chameleon could be amazing if done right, even emotional. Shocker for the lulz (ala Ult. SM) would be awesome.

PS. The contrast between some of these reviews is quite telling.

I don't know if Chameleon could work on his own. I think he would complement Mysterio perfectly. And Mysterio would make a Spider-Man film look fucking amazing visually if his abilities are explored with a bit of thought and imagination.

But it would be great to have a villain that is not "super" or unrealistic now that ASM is more grounded and dark. Kraven fits perfectly for a whole movie, there could even be more suspense.

My wishes:
1. Kraven
2. Mysterio
3. Morbius
4. Chameleon
5. Vulture

Rhino and Shocker just won't be interesting. Carnage wouldn't make it into a teenage movie lol. What are people's impression of Jackal?

By the way, what do we know about Amazing Spider-Man 2? That it premieres May 1st 2014 and have Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Denis Leary?

The only difference between Batman Begins and TASM is the three extra years in between rebooting. My one criticism is aimed at Sony. They should have kept the project on lockdown and not leaked so much, the reason it feels like the gap has been so short is because we have been watching clips and reading interviews and articles about it for the better part of two years and the gap from SM3 to the announcement of TASM was just three years. If Sony had kept it on lockdown it would feel fresher and it would feel like a longer period of time had passed by.

However, that doesn't mean reviewers should be cunts about it. I read the IGN review before I left for work and the reviewer clearly has an agenda as he wanted to see Raimi-Man back for SM4. It reads like he grudgingly accepts that this is better than SM but he doesn't want to give the movie its dues so he scores is poorly.

Have you read Webspinners Tales of Spider-Man #12? Something like that for chameleon could be amazing. Maybe along with Kraven since they're related and work together in some of the original comics. I don't know how Mysterio could work and be interesting, it'd turn into a silly mess similar to Sherlock Holmes, where things seem magical and beyond belief and then there's always a rational explanation.

I think the fact that the 'modern' Ult. SM issues made a joke out of Mysterio (in the fake movie) sort of indicates something.

There's some new behind-the-scenes stuff out there and I spotted something interesting in one of the clips;

Whereas in all the trailers he looked like this (same scene);

So they've added the classic lab coat into a lot of bits where they previously weren't there. Sweet.

Rotten tomatoes is now 81%
76%, actually. It was just 91% yesterday :lol Past three reviews have been rotten on RT. It's funny because each and every one can't get over the fact that it's a Spider-Man movie (thus reboot).

Damn Drew Mcweeny really didn't care for the movie. He is usually really reliable too. .. That sucks
"This film's got one major issue that nothing can overcome, and that is a profound feeling of 'been there, done that.'" screams of bias, the score was set before he even watched the movie.

I like the idea of having supervillains without them being the main focus. Build this into a world more like the comics, where Spidey fights supervillains regularly and it's become routine.

Spidey has plenty of C-list villains, using a couple of them could be really funny.

A lot of the reviews Ive read open with something along the lines of "Should Spidey have been rebooted?". Its irritating.

I actually trust gafs opinion more when it comes to movies (and games, for that matter) and Im glad to see that the few gaffers who have seen it have enjoyed it.

The fact is a reboot is usually always scorned after the original was a celebrated movie. If they waited 5 years more people might have thought differently.

If it feels same and weakens the film they have a point.
They should have just started half way into this Spidermans story and gone from there.

Its a very fair point imo and one I want to hear in a review as it informs me.

The 3D is definitely worth it. If you have the opportunity watch it in 3D, it's the most impressive live action 3D I have seen since Avatar.

I've seen the trailer in 3D, I was unimpressed. I also didn't think much of the use of 3D in Prometheus. I was once a big fan of 3D, but I think I'm pretty much done for the time being.

That's a really weird sentiment about a reviewer -- what does "reliable" mean? Reinforcing your own viewpoint? Agreeing to the groupthink?

Yes, you got it man groupthink. It means that I have been following him as a reviewer for many years, even dating back to his days at AICN and I found that I agreed with a lot of his reviews at the time (and still do). His tastes are usually a "reliable" barometer for how I may feel/react to a movie.

And so far his review of Spider-Man has probably been the most critical of the lot so I don't see how his negative impression of the movie falls in line with some kind of media groupthink.

If they waited 5 more years Sony would've had to give up the rights and never make a nickel on anything called 'Spider-Man' again. The reboot was more of an inevitability than a choice.

Since it seems that the major criticism of the film is that its a reboot, that is a very good sign, because I mean, fuck Raimi's films and Tobey.

While I love Spider-man 2 I'm starting to wonder if it will actually be bested next week. Spider-man 3 and probably the first Raimi Spider-man will likely be bested but it's going to take more than just a good film to topple the second one. The script, pacing, and character development were just too good in that one, but we'll see.
