Videogame facts that blow your mind (SuperMarioBros. SHOCKING SECRET INSIDE p #70)

So at one point we almost got Wario in a Mario RPG for even the briefest cameo, one day we'll get the Wario and Waluigi spin off everyone wants, or should want.

I'm intrigued as to what happens with Excitebike guy.

In "Elite Beat Agents", the cover for "Walkie Talkie Man" has someone coughing in the background. It's nearly the very end of the song, after the last segment ends. This is on the actual sound file, since it can be heard on the clean version of the song, not just in-game.

Listen for yourself (Skip to 2:52, it's easier to catch with headphones)

Not really mindblowing, but I'm surprised they went with that version of the song in the final game since the coughing is pretty audible.

Another fun fact to note is that the cover artist, Jason Paige, also sings the first American opening of the Pokemon anime ("I wanna be the very best...").

wrong link...?

There are two variantions of Silent Hill, excluding the greatest hits version. The shiny version was the first shipment given to those that pre-ordered the game.

This same thing happened for Spawn: The Eternal. The original release has a chromium cover, later releases are just normal covers.

That's pretty great.

Hadn't seen the sprites before. I remember reading about that content when someone found the text associated with the scenes. Wonder why they changed their minds.

I wonder why they changed their minds when they already had the sprites ready to go for those scenes.

i always thought that one dude's baten kaitos avatar was a bird with a big old happy beak smile until i realized it was a guy in some kind head wrap thingy

Those Mario & Luigi sprites are awesome. Too bad they didn't make it into the final game.

And that cough is pretty funny, but it honestly sounds like it's supposed to be there somehow. Or rather, it just fits with that kind of song.

Maaaaaaaan........maaaaaaan.....fuck me, I need to know if this was intentional.

Considering the developers of Skyward Sword openly admit to placing references to the original Zelda in that game, it wouldn't be terribly far-fetched to think the Ocarina of Time developers participated in a similar kind of sneakiness.

Whether it's "intentional" in the sense that the timeline connection was always intended is more difficult, if not impossible, to discern. Chances are, the visual connection is an easter egg, and the timeline connection is a fortunate coincidence.

Oh I'm not picky, I'm satisfied with a "cool easter-egg" connection. It's just crazy that I never picked up on it.

I though about this one of Darksiders yesterday, and I think it makes some sense.

Why is the main character called War?

-Darksiders is known as the mix of The Legend of Zelda and God of War

-The Legend of Zelda + God of War = The Legend of War

-Darksiders tells the legend of a character

-The Legend of [character's name]

-The Legend of War

It looks better at my mind, but this is the best way I found to describe my thoughts. lol

So are you just assuming or did you read this somewhere as a fact?

found on reddit, blew my mind. cant believe i never made the connection.

Guess it's not that mind blowing since, from what I remember of the preview coverage leading up to that game, it was reported that an early version of the game had you going onto an island with the giant tree as the first dungeon, and it was being labeled a Zelda 1 reference. This was like sometime in 1996/1997, but I clearly remember the Zelda 1 reference was intentionally there at one point.

Where'd Pestilence go?

In pop culture Pestilence is often used instead of Conquest, but the original passage has the riders Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Its worth noting that there's some debate about what Conquest actually represents hence why it often get changed to Pestilence.

I didn't get very far into the game, so this is the most shocking fact I've read in here in a while.

I'm not entirely sure how I picked up that bit of information, but I don't think they ever explicitly state that Fury is female in the first game. I think the only actual information given about the other riders is their names.

Here are all four riders as depicted in the Darksiders universe.

Okay I'm done with the Darksiders/Horsemen stuff sorry.

Damn some of you guys are reaching... The Deku Tree is far-fetched as it can get.

At least now I know how the Horsemen look like in the Darksiders universe. Wasn't aware they already had a design.
