EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

I feel like they literally can't fix the time over issue in this game without making the matches way too long. The whole system of having to keep both of your characters alive just doesn't work in Street Fighter. It only does in Tekken Tag because of the aggressive pace and blocking being more difficult. Part of me feels like Pandora was partly meant to be a solution but it's so fucking ass...

For starters:
Match damage scaling and combo length (people drop out earlier, especially when people begin combos with jabs/shorts).
Restrict rolling on recovery.
General character balance.

Evo finals play as sloppy. Only Inf + laugh looked they knew what they were doing.

Well the main reason the pace isn't as aggressive is because of how easy it is to run due to fast walk back/jump-back speeds (easily changed) and the timer speed (probably also easy to change).

People tend to be thoughtlessly cynical and dismissive, and always have been.

Go back to when MVC2 was first in arcade loc test in the US in California, people saw the altered button layout and said it was trash and would never go anywhere. That's based on button layout.

People said SF3 was stupid and Capcom should just abandon it and people should just play ST.

Etc etc.

While it IS true that this game may not earn the revisions it deserves (yes, deserves - under the hood it is a really interesting game with a great cast), it certainly could be 'fixed'. Just about any game can be fixed.

I suppose our best hope is that the final round of patches later this year actually do create some significant changes. The cynics don't know/don't care that the new team leader for the game actually does seem to want to address the problems.

This exactly. I forgot how much mvc2 was considered total garbage on button layout alone. "LOL 4 buttons and 2 assist buttons?"

Triforce already said that Sanford didn't go to EVO because of personal reasons, why do you guys keep talking about this? It has nothing to do with sponsorship, EMP is not a fucking sponsor.

People are still saying all this, somewhere :P

Of course. But Capcom won't fix this game - they are bailing from fighting games. No more MvC3, no more SF4, nothing significant for SFxT, Seth Killian has left, and Darkstalkers 4 is still "man, wouldn't that be neat?" These are our Capcom fighting games for the next five years - on consoles that will be out of date in two years.

I see. I'll get off him then.

Reminds of Jago, who was in the hospital last year.

EDIT: SFxTK main problem is that it is possible to spend a lot of your effort and skill learning how to play the game inefficiently and still manage to win.

never been so happy to watch MK.

MK is pretty damn sloppy. I just watch for the lulz while I do other things. Kinda like Marvel, except Marvel isn't sloppy, just busted
